Chapter 43 - Lutz 02

As Lutz was walking away after once again failing determined to pass the exam and get into the academy next time. However that next time was becoming more and more unlikely to ever happen and the only one not picking on that hint was Lutz himself. Thinking that if he just took the exam enough then eventually he would manage to pass it as he just had to never give up on trying. Although others were watching him go and they were sighing as they did so.

"How many times has he managed to fail the exam now," one teacher asked.

"It's been so many times I not only lost count but have lost the ability to care anymore" a second teacher replied.

"Guys really need to learn when to take a hint. The reason he can not pass the exam is because he is driven enough to do so" the first teacher stated.

"Sure he has the raw talent we are looking for but why would we waste time trying to bring it out of him though" the second teacher replied.

"How is someone like that a citizen of Valia like ourselves as it was truly interesting at first as he was a useful idiot for promoting the academy and other ways" the first teacher stated

"True but now it is just sad as does not he have any shame as a fellow member of Valia. Repeating taking an exam that literally set up for him to fail it because of how he keeps going about talking about it" the second teacher replied.

So Lutz continued to walk off not aware that he was constantly being set up to fail the exam since he was not doing the entire thing just the surface level part of it every time.

Lutz was unaware of the fact that he was understanding the exam to the Mage division academy fully seriously flaw. He was constantly allowed to take it because he was actually and rather unknowingly serving as an example...at least originally. Those that see Lutz would think mainly one of two things amongst the many that could countless things that could be theorized through Lutz's actions.

Lutz did not fall into any of these two categories and as a result, was just left alone as he was not realizing how the mage division truly was. At first, allowing him to be around was not harming their image or legacy through his constant failures. Once he had outlived that purpose then he was allowed to serve as the message for those who could not take a hint main choices of how they were going to go about dealing with the exam. The reality of things is that if they can not do the exam the way it was truly intended to be then they should just give up and leave for other places. This worked on everyone but the intended target of Lutz himself who was the only one that did not take the hint.

After his latest failure, Lutz once again would go to the library with the idea of getting a book that hopefully helps him in learning magic. He had the innate talent to do so but was aiming for the wrong masters/teachers. Since he did not leave the city in which the academy he was at was located, he could not be found by an actual master/teacher who would be able to teach him as he desired. Being that he was being used by the mage academy they could not even get close to him as they steered clear of anything related to the mage division after all. They could not change their country just steering clear of them to do their own thing. Attempting to do so already proved disastrous once already so things would be worse the next time around.

As Lutz was going to a book he was forced aside by a sudden gust of wind. One that made it so that he could do nothing as he passed out for a second from the strength of the wind used against him. No one seemed to care as they were not causing a mess or disturbing anyone else.

"Hey wannabe you need a book," a mage recruit said as they took the very book that he was aiming for themselves instead.

Lutz realized they were taking the book he had attempted to take first for himself.

"That was the…..*starts rubbing his head after being struck in the forehead by one*…did you have to throw it at me? *He then opens the book* There's nothing in this book besides the intro" he said.

"Just like chances of entering the mage division academy. Take that book and learn that zero times zero is zero" the mage recuirt said laughing as they left.

Lutz then looked at the book and was amazed that it was full of useful information that made everything easy to understand.

'This book is amazing why would anyone overlook something so useful' Lutz thought.

The librarian looked at Lutz as he presented the book to them.

"Are you sure that you want this book?" they asked.

"Is this one of the books that can not be checked out?" Lutz asked

"It has never been checked out because it is worthless. In fact, you can just have it as it was merely taking up space" they said.

Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, Lutz did not question this and left with his new book in tow.

"Do you think the guy will finally get a clue after that causes him to fail once again?" the mage that gave him the book asked.

"Hopefully so as he might have the raw talent but is not a fit for one of our country's mages. Guy just does not have the proper drive" the librarian said.

"Though I do know there will be one person who will be more than happy if Lutz finally gives up," the mage said.

"Their entire career has been ruined because they were the ones that attracted Lutz here after all," the librarian said.
