Chapter 31 - MP and Habol

As soon as Julius arrived in the great hall he checked the status of a random student.

[MP 14]

Judging from his looks the student seemed to be a third year which would probably make him a bit below average at least in respect to his magic power.

Next he returned to his friends and sat down again before checking their magic power stats, first Lia and then Habol.

[MP 15]

‚Now that is interesting, even Lia's stat is already quite high for her age but Habol's is even higher. Maybe it has something to do with his family? I guess if he was a part of this family he could naturally have this amount of pure magic power without having received much training.'

Until now Julius had been able to hold his curiosity back but now he had to at least ask:

"Habol I wanted to ask you something if you don't mind, you don't even have to answer if you don't want to."

It seemed Habol already guessed what was coming by how his expression turned serious and he hesitated for a moment before answering:

„I guess it is about my family, isn't it? I don't mind the two of you knowing it even though I've been avoiding it until now since it's not really something I like to talk about.

But let's go to somewhere more private first, I still don't feel comfortable talking about it in the great hall, especially not during lunch."

Surprised Julius nodded his head and picked up his suitcase before standing up, since he didn't know how much time this would take.

Seeing the both of them stand up, Lia followed them, but not before sending a thoughtful look towards Habol.

'I wonder what she thinks about this? I mean, it is Lia West; she may not know who he is, but she certainly has her guesses. There's no way she would hang out with someone with an unknown past.'

After both of them were ready, Habol led them outside of the castle and towards a small group of trees next to the black lake.

"As you both have no doubt already guessed, I am also from a pureblood family; otherwise, there is no way I would have been accepted into Slytherin, and this also explains my knowledge concerning dark magic and my special wand.

Well, as you may have already guessed, I am part of the Imamu family; you may know it as the family that claims to be a direct descendant of the house of Slytherin.

If you're wondering why I am here instead of going to Uagadou, well, the focus on alchemy and astrology didn't really suit me for once, with only the part about animagi being of interest to me.

Additionally, I wanted to find actual friends, which would have been hard under the watchful eyes of my elitist family, and since I am still a direct descendant of one of the founders, I also got a letter of admission, even though I originally hoped not to get into my ancestor's house, if just to annoy my father.

Does this answer your questions? If not, just ask away."

After this info dump, both Julius and Lia had to wait a moment while processing all of it.

'I can't really say I'm surprised, but now my suspicions are at least confirmed.

I already guessed from his attendance at Hogwarts alone, not to mention his particular wand core and the feeling I got from him when I was in my animagus form, that had to have been some kind of passive spell.

At least if my other theory is left out, and even if he allowed questions, I'm going to wait a moment until I ask him about that, if I do at all, not to mention Lia's presence.'

But Lia apparently did have some questions; even if probably wildly different to whatever Habol was expecting:

"If that's the case, why do you have a wand? And such an interesting one at that? Is it a legacy wand from your family's ties to Britain? And since when have you started using it if you haven't used it for your whole life due to some family tradition?"

It turned out Lia was extremely interested in different cultures and was especially fascinated by the magic of those parts of the world, where wizards and witches practised wandless magic.

And since Habol was all too keen on answering all of her questions, even Julius could learn a few interesting details about Africa's magic and his new friend's history.

It turned out Habol's wand was indeed a legacy wand, but he didn't know from when.

He was also originally supposed to learn wandless magic, but he fled the continent as soon as he got his hands on his letter of admission and his new wand.

But he still picked up a few things about magic from the theory teachers his father had hired to make sure one of their potential heirs wouldn't embarrass them after visiting a magic school.

And after all of this was over, the break was also nearing its end.

Habol also had a question he had been wanting to ask:

"Now that you know about this, I wanted to ask you something; I wanted to know if the three of us could be friends. I haven't had any in my whole life, but I like hanging out with the both of you, and we even share common interests, and even in case my family comes to take me home, they shouldn't have an issue with me having two friends from influential, and much more important, pureblood, families."

And after understanding what Habol just asked of them, both of the teenagers immediately agreed, and after talking about it for a moment, they noticed that neither of them had ever made any friends outside of their family's.

And so the three of them happily went back inside and continued their lessons, with Julius having completely forgotten why he was originally that excited.

IMPORTANT NOTICE AND POLL

Firstly I have to tell you that I will not upload any chapters for the next week as I will be on a camping tour following the border between Germany and Denmark so I will only seldomly have any internet or electricity.

Secondly the poll for something which is still quite long in the future but the earlier I ask the more feedback I will get, as always just comment on the option you want.

The question is what the third school at the triwizard tournament should be as I don't think Durmstrang is really needed.

1)Durmstrang

2)Koldovstoretz (Russia, adept at potion brewing, use whole trees for quidditch (please don't))

3)Castelobruxo (Brazil, adept at Herbology and Magiczoology)

4)Uagadou (Uganda, adept at Astronomy, Alchemy and Animagi, also use wandless magic and is the biggest of all schools)

5)Mahoutokoro (Japan, adept at combat magic and quidditch, also use wandless magic and is the oldest of all schools)

6)Ilvermorny (USA, specalty potions, also a more modern curriculum for example including basic healing spells etc., also voluntary native American magic (wandless and especially nature magic))

Also; thank you for reading!
