Felix went down the stairs while he examined Max. something very unexpected happened. All his reflexes screamed of being on guard of this man in front of him. He told the attendant to continue her work as he reached his hand to Max and said: "Greetings, mister Max. My name is Felix, and I am the guild master of this branch of the adventurer's guild. I heard a lot about you. It is a pleasure of meeting you in person. Would you like to go upstairs and have a conversation? I'm sure people like you have a thing or two to tell this old man about." Felix said.
Max shook the hand of the guild master and said: "Sure. No problem. Derek wait here. I will go and speak with mister Felix."
After that both men departed upstairs. This interaction gathered a lot of attention. There were a lot of adventurers that did never see the guild master and it was a refreshing experience. Also, Max was very popular here after what happened yesterday. Not every day a man and his subordinate come and kick the ass of the guard's captain. Derek was also quite popular because he won Alex with the power of a regular person. That was something straight from a fantasy story. No one ever heard of a normal person beating a level two knight apprentice in a fight. Derek was the one to break this rule. Because of that many adventurers and adventurer teams gathered around him and tried to recruit him into their ranks. Such flawless fighter would boost their power level by a big margin. Derek felt a headache coming. He said that he is not an adventurer and everything that connected to his ability to join anyone should be discussed with his boss first. After he said that most of the adventurers left him alone. No one wanted to provoke Max that got the nickname of "Mad Max".
At the third floor. Max and Felix entered a luxurious office. The room was big, with large windows that gave the room a lot of light during the day. There were oil lamps that illuminated the room at night. There were two big office tables from wood connected in a "T" shape with different documents situated on them. Also, there were many chairs that were made a specially for the guild master, complimenting the wooden tables looks. The floor was made from an expensive looking parquet. Behind the guild master chair there were cupboards with glass doors that were full of books and documents. Felix sat on his chair and Max sat on one of the vacant chairs near the guild master.
"What can I do for you guild master?" Max asked. He was not sure what was the reason for their meeting here.
Felix smiled and said: "I'm just interested in the reason for your visit in our humble town. If you don't want to tell me that's alright. It's just that not every day I have the possibility to meet someone like you."
Max smiled in response and said: "Well I'm just traveling the continent. I do have a gaming club that I'm sure will interest you. It can help people experiment with their abilities and learn new things. It has great potential. Also, guild master, maybe you don't know that, but you do have a magic aptitude. If you are interested in checking it, you can come. I'm just letting you know that one hour of service is 1 gold coin for a knight and the aptitude test check is 1 silver coin. Your captain that lost to me and Derek will come so you can follow him, or you can just come with me on the way back. You need to educate your captain. He lost to Derek that is not even on a level of a knight apprentice. I can't say that Derek is brilliant either, so he better come and study at my place."
Felix's eyes brightened and he asked: "Really? you have such equipment? This is very interesting. I'll be sure to come with the guards and pay you a visit. How can he study or train to get better at your place? Can you share this secret with me?"
Max scratched his head and said: "It is hard to explain. It is easier to go and see by yourself. It's something relatively new in this continent. Not many people know about that method. Also, you can order food from my place as well. It is good and relatively cheap."
"Oh, I see. I will be sure to visit you. I'm very interested in my magic potential." Felix answered. 'He is not from this empire for sure. Having such equipment on him and being able to preserve it means that he is a really strong fighter. I didn't know I had magic aptitude. Those mages are so secretive. It's strange that no one told me about it.' He thought to himself.
"Well then I will be waiting for you and the guards. Our club is located near the church. It's impossible to miss it. I will be taking my leave now. It was a pleasure meeting you. I am awaiting to see you at my gaming club." Max said with a smile while getting up and reaching for Felix for a handshake.
Felix also rose up from his seat and shook the hand of the newcomer. He had a good impression of this person and he wanted to visit this mysterious club after the working hours will over.
"What are the working hours of your gaming club?" Felix asked while shaking Max's hand.
Max thought for a moment and said: "For now there are no stable working hours. You can come after work. We will receive you with great pleasure."
'I need more personal to attend people. Also, I need to think about the working hours. Oh... Life is so hard...' Max thought to himself.
After the exchange of words Max left the office. Felix was waiting for the moment the working hours will over so he can come and see this new and interesting place.
After Max got down to the first floor he waved to Derek and they both left back to the gaming club, waiting for all the different people that would come and visit them today.
