Chapter 25 - Entering the simulation

The group that arrived could not understand where the music was coming from. Felix was the first one to enter and then asked: "Boss Max where is the music coming from? I don't see any band anywhere. Also, I didn't hear anything like that before. What kind of music is this?"

Max smiled and answered: "That music is played by a special magic artifact that recorded this music when it was played by a real band. I do have a limited amount of melodies now. This type of music called opera. After the gaming club will earn some money, I could buy more music types. Are we going to start with the aptitude examination?"

The guild master smiled and said: "Alright. Let's go ahead and do that. Let's start from me. I've been interested in what magic capabilities I have." He was very excited about the fact that he could have such abilities. Somewhere in his heart he was still a little sceptical and would be really convinced when he will get the ability to use magic.

"Alright. Please enter the room in the right side of the counter. When you enter it just listed to the voice in the room that will guide you in what to do. All the rest of you please take a seat. There are plenty of places near the counter." Max said with a smile.

Felix nodded and entered the room. After a short amount of time, he got out from the room, surprised and asked: "What those results mean? What is that voice?"

"The voice is a magic artifact that guides you in different places in the gaming club. About the results let me see. Do you want me to read them aloud?" Max asked.

"No just tell me what my magic capabilities are." The guild master said.

"Alright." Max said. After that he took the paper and saw the results:

'Name: Felix. Warrior level: level one warrior. Mage level: none. Warrior aptitude: medium.

Magic aptitude: low. Fire aptitude: none. Water aptitude: none. Wind aptitude: none.

Earth aptitude: none. Lightning aptitude: none.'

"Well, you do have a low aptitude for support magic but don't have any aptitude for the elements. That is still not bad. Your potential to increase your strength and the strength of your group is very big even with the support abilities only. It seems that the adventurer's guild will be on the rise. There is a good chance that you will get into the capital that way." Max said with a smile.

Felix looked excited and said: "I don't really care about the capital, but I am interested in what abilities I will be able to learn here."

"Well, there are few but there is still one condition for you and all the rest of the people that will want to get some knowledge from here. You need to beat your copy when it mastered the swordsmanship skill that you will have to master as well in the simulation. Only then I will give you a knight technique that is most suitable for you to increase your power level with some knight skills. Derek is doing that too. Thats why he became a little better, but he still can't beat his copy. I guess that mean it will take you some time. Same goes with mage technique if you have the aptitude for magic. It will allow you to gather magic and increase your powers gradually. After you get to a level of a mage apprentice, I will give you a few abilities to learn." Max said.

"Do I need to kill my copy? Is it dangerous?" Felix said, while frowning a little.

"No. You just need to get into the simulation, and you will understand everything." Max said with a smile.

"What is a simulation?" The guild master asked.

"It's hard to explain. You just need to get there to understand. After you exit the capsule tell me how I will be able to explain to other people this kind of experience. Now let's go and check everyone for their aptitudes and then go to the main event." Max said.

While the guards of the adventurer's guild were enjoying the music while sitting, the guild master called them one by one to get checked. In the end all the guards and the guard captain were low aptitude in terms of knight training capabilities except one of the guards named James that had a medium level aptitude. After that was discovered, the other guards changed the way they were treating this relatively new recruit. They knew this guy had a much better chance in raising his rank as a knight. It would be foolish to have problems with people that will most likely bloom in the near future.

"It is important to have a good aptitude but without the ability to control your body and your strength in the right way it will be useless. Because of that we will get to the next important thing, and it will be your practice. You need to know the following things about what will happen, so you won't be too surprised. One hour in the real world is a half a month in the simulation. The simulation is a fantasy world when you can do different activities. What you will do there is a type of training. If you want to learn a breathing or a meditation technique that is most suited to you with a few knight skills, you just need to kill your own copy with your abilities while you mastered the skill of swordsmanship. Thats it generally. Now ten of your will go and try it. We have only 10 capsules so everyone else can wait. While you are waiting you can buy some food here or just listen to the music. Please pick the ten people at total counting you as well that will come and try it first." Max said with a smile.

The guild master chose the guards captain Alex and eight more guard, and they went with Max to the hall with the capsules. When they arrived there, they saw all the images on the walls with all the strange equipment they did not see ever in their lives. It was a strange experience.

'System are you taking it from here?' Max asked in his head.

'Yeah.' The system answered.

"Now you will hear a voice that will guide you what to do when you will come near the capsules. Just follow its instructions and you will get into the space I told you about a few moments ago." Max said.

All the group went near the capsules. when they got close enough a nice and gentle voice of a female started to guide the guild master and the guards on what they should do. It felt strange for those people because it was a first time for them, but they still complied. After a couple of minutes of guiding they entered the simulation. Max went to tell Derek that he will enter the simulation too to look after the guild master. Derek nodded at his remarks and continued to chat with the rest of the guards. They asked him question about his fighting style and how it was possible to beat their captain with no powers of a knight apprentice.

Max went to the second floor after instructing Derek to not let anyone else inside the capsule hall until the first batch of people got out. He arrived at his room and entered the simulation as well. He was interested to see how those guys are going to do in this challenge. He had some hopes for the guild master, so he wanted to watch how strong are the powerhouses of this town faring against a level one bot.
