"What a fucking donkey. You are not a knight. Even Derek is better than you. Oh my god. And he is so bad! Derek come and fight this guy!" Max shouted.
Derek went into the arena and said: "He barely can stand. There is no fun fighting that kind of opponent."
Max smiled and said: "Do you think I will let you fight him while he is in such state?"
After that he used the heal skill until he felt the life energy of the guard captain got to its peak.
After that he said: "Alright you lost. Remember what we agreed on. I will come and give you the location we settle in. Don't forget to bring all of your guard subordinates. Also, I want you to try and fight this guy. You should be pretty even in power. He is not even a knight apprentice but I'm pretty sure you will have troubles fighting him."
Alex got up after he felt a warm stream of energy flow through his body. He felt that he came into peak power level again. All of his injuries were healed. Healing magic was very rare. Generally, people like that would be taken by the big guilds or noble families. This Max was a walking treasure. Alex was sure people would go and try to make this guy enter their organizations. If someone will be able to succeed in roping this guy in it will be a disaster for the other major powers. Max was a true powerhouse from the perspective of the guard captain.
"Alright. I will fulfill my promise. Just give me the address and me and my guards will come to try your club. I agree fighting this guy as well but with no bets." Alex said. He was not sure if it was good idea to bet anything with this man. He was not sure if he could beat the other guy that is not even a knight apprentice level fighter. If his master would see this, he would chough blood.
"Alright. Start the fight. Derek if you fight like a retard, I swear to God that you will have to pay for your virtual gaming time like everyone else." Max said with a grin. It was a lot of fun to tease Derek.
"Boss this is not fair!" Derek said with an indignant face.
"Life is not fair. Now shut up and fight. I want to see how much you learned to use your brain. Because if you don't use it you may die by accident." Max said. He was not joking. Without using the techniques Derek learned he would be hacked in half if he will trade blows head on. Derek also understood this and when Alex started to charge at him, he got ready to use one of the defense techniques he learned in the virtual reality space, while learning the swordsmanship skill. He did the same things again and again for months already, so he was quite proficient with the movements. When Alex got close and started a strike from above Derek didn't even think about trying to block it. His plan was to evade and attack. There was no meaning in initializing any attack because Alex was much more powerful than him. His attack would just get blocked, and he will be powerless against the retaliation of this guy. Because of that he decided to work in a more of a reactive fighting style. He tried to copy the bot he fought over and over again and to his surprise he succeeded. After dying countless times while making the same evading movement to the side with a slashing hit to the stomach of the opponent with the wrong timing and getting killed or getting caught in the same counterattack while fighting the bot he knew how to use the move in the right way and in the right moment. He was still not sure if he could make it work while fighting such a strong opponent.
When the counterattack succeeded a big and deep gash opened on stomach of Alex and he groaned in pain. Blood started to flow, and the outcome of this fight was clear. The captain could die from a blood loss if he could not treat his injuries in time. Alex fell on his knees and could not get up. Derek pointed his sword at the kneeling captain with a smile and said: "It's your loss."
"Alright. The fight is over. Derek won. I didn't think I will say this, but you outsmarted this guy. Your IQ is higher. Now this guy has the smallest brain capacity I know off. Holy shit! Unbelievable!" Max said. After that he facepalmed because he did not think the norm of this world would be so low in term of fighting capability. They were SO BAD.
Soon Max arrived near the laying captain and healed him again. After that he said: "Do you have a death wish or something? You like when people beat you up? I guess Derek now can be the guard captain ha-ha. Derek, do you want the job?"
Derek answered without hesitation: "Not interested. I would like to continue working for you boss."
"Alright then. Now write me my ID card and I will be on my way. I got tired of this place." Max said and started to make his way back to the adventurer's guild with a better mood then before. The crowd made a path for him and let him pass. No one wanted to get on his bad side. Derek and the captain with the rest of the guards followed Max from behind. All of the guards lost all of their imposing aura. They understood that it was better to stay low key in this case. Then the crowd also went to the adventures guild to see the rest of the show, but they were disappointed because nothing big happened after. Max went to the same counter and asked: "Did you entered the data?" The attendant was frightened but she still looked at the captain for conformation. Alex nodded and left. He did not want to stay in the main hall anymore. He was too embarrassed. He quickly got up to the second floor that he came from before. After seeing the conformation, the clerk was shocked. This guy in front of her didn't lie and he should be very strong if the captain lost. Alex did not say anything but from his mood and face expression she understood what happened. She was afraid that Max would attack her or try to make the adventurers guild head to make her quit her job. Her wish did not come true.
"Is it done?" Max asked her with a frown.
The attendant nodded with fear in her eyes. Max took the ID card and said: "Derek lets go. I'm sick and tired of staying in this place. If anyone wants to learn fight like me and Derek, you are welcomed to visit my gaming club. The location will be published soon."
After finishing to say what he wanted the duo left the adventurer's guild to the city lord administration.
