"I-I'm sorry. I misspoke." Wira diverted his eyes, not wanting to meet Nana's calm eyes.
Nana blinked. "Okay." She returned to what she was doing. She didn't pursue the matter any further since Wira had admitted that he was in the wrong.
However, it didn't mean the indignation in her heart had dissipated.
It was okay to ask her to limit her relationship with certain people under clear reason, but to ask her to stop contacting someone was something she disliked the most. Jealousy wasn't a reason for her to cut off any relationship she had with anyone, unless she decided to do so.
Wira knew that, yet he still had a slipup.
The atmosphere turned a bit awkward after that slipup. In the end, Nana found an excuse to end their meeting and returned home early.
When it was time for their appointment with Kevin, they had returned to their own usual self.
It was as if Wira had not slipped up.
After that one time, Wira became even more careful to what he said. He remembered by heart what Nana wanted and not, how she wanted things, and why she disliked it.
The new Nana was more or less the same but at the same time, she had changed.
Even so, it didn't change Wira's intention to finalize their relationship to the next stage.
Weeks after that, Wira was having lunch outside with Nana again.
"Err- Nana, my mom wants to meet you. Can you spare your time to meet her?" Wira carefully asked. He was afraid that Nana would find it trouble to meet his mother.
"Hm? When?" Nana sounded so calm that Wira was almost sure that she didn't hear him properly. Did she just agree on that casually? Wasn't meeting with the future mother in law something every girl fear?
"W-what about weekend next week? I'll let my mom know that she can meet you next weekend." Wira couldn't hide the excitement in his heart.
Nana pondered for a bit then nodded her pretty head. "Alright."
It was so easy, Wira thought. He knew that Nana would not lie to him regarding this kind of thing, but he couldn't help but think that she might only agree to his request and bail herself out later.
"Don't worry. Otherwise something really urgent comes up, I will make sure to come to our appointment next week." She talked as if she could see what he had inside his mind.
Blushing a bit because his mind was exposed, Wira could only nod his head and missed the smile on Nana's face.
Nana found his expression to be cute as he tried to hide his slightly blushing face. She had known this man for years, yet she still found him adorable sometimes. It was as if he didn't change at all since their separation.
Anyway, Wira asked her to meet his mother wasn't the first to her. She had met her before, when they were still dating back then.
She couldn't forget the way that woman looked at her when they met. For what they were talking about, Nana couldn't recall everything, but she still remembered some.
"My son is only infatuated with you for a while. Once you disappear from his face, he can find someone better than you and he won't look back at you. You will only be a part of his memory. If you insist to be with him, I don't mind. My only condition is for you to be a full housewife, to obey him, and if you can't get pregnant within three months, you can choose to divorce or to let him take a second wife. Same rule applies when you can't give him a son as a first born."
What kind of absurd rule was that?
Any sane woman would choose to re-think about the relationship, and she did so. The thing was she had not finished rethinking about their relationship when suddenly Wira asked her to break up with her.
His reason? He would go to pursue his education and career and he couldn't stand long distance relationship.
Nana doubted that it was the only reason why he chose to break up with her. But, she didn't confront him about it and decided right then to agree to whatever he had decided. She didn't even tell him that his mother had met her before.
Maybe she was too rush back then. Maybe she should have convinced him more that she was loyal only for him -he knew that, of course.
But, it's all happened. Strangely, she didn't regret it a bit.
The meeting next week... Nana was curious what kind of expression that woman would wear on her face the moment they met.
The corner of her lips was lifted slightly in a smirk as the coldness started to fog her eyes.
If Wira didn't say anything about his mother, she wouldn't bother herself to remember that woman. Unfortunately, he had to open that hidden box in her mind, thus resulted in a devil escaped from it.
After that, Nana returned to her work. Again, she drowned herself with her work. It was as if the talk with Wira was nothing to concern about. When it was time to go back home, she walked back to her dormitory quietly, refusing Wira's text to send her home.
It was not the first time she refused his offer, so Nana didn't think that it would bother Wira. Unfortunately, Wira found it strange that Nana would refuse his offer after he asked her to meet his mother.
Was her calm demeanor back then fake? Was she having cold feet now?
If Nana were to know what he was thinking about, she would surely and helplessly shake her head and question herself whether this man really knew about her or not.
"Have you heard about Mu Yang recently?"
Those words successfully halted Nana's steps as soon as they entered Nana's ears. What had happened with Mu Yang?
"Right! He is now officially a shareholder of that big company, right? What's that name again? EG Corp, right? What company is it again?"
"I don't really know about EG Corp, but I know that they have multiple small companies under them."
"Look at the latest news! EG Corp bought YM Agency! It means YM is under EG Corp now, right?"
"Uwaah, Mu Yang is superb! The moment he officially became a shareholder, EG bought his agency. They already have a big agency, don't they? What will happen to YM, then?"
"You mean, the Heavenly Stars Entertainment? I heard that YM will be their subsidiary agency. No, it's their first subsidiary agency in the Capital. It will be a sister to Heavenly Stars."
Nana blinked her eyes repeatedly. Sisters? Then, YM would enjoy same treatment as Heavenly Stars, wouldn't they? Why would EG buy YM? Was it related to Mu Yang?
Sensing that something had changed, Nana hastened her steps to return to her dorm. She needed to see the news with her own eyes.
Living in the world of commoners, she truly wasn't aware of the presence of other people who was following her quietly. Her every move was being monitored and reported to someone.
"Yes, she is returning to her dorm now."
"Good. Keep an eye closely on her. I'll give the rest of the payment right after I see her."
"Sure, boss." The man was grinning cheerfully, attracting the attention of some women around him.
