Two, he originally thought that Mu Yang's girlfriend would be an entertainer, someone with goddess-like body and bearing. He really didn't consider the girlfriend to be a non entertainer and a plain one. Yes, she looked cute, but compared to the others, she looked like a plain Jane.
As someone from the HR Department, he had done his homework in collecting information about Mu Yang, so of course, he knew how his ex girlfriend looked like and what their background was.
Compared to their looks, Mu Yang's new girlfriend was truly on the different level. Of course, he wouldn't dare saying it out loud. Despite his thought about the information he heard, his instinct for a gossip said that for Mu Yang to be head over heels for this new girl, this girl must be something.
-----Section Break-----
Months had passed as the weather turned from dry and hot to humid and rainy. The sound of wet slippers and shoes against the floor were music to the ears for this season. Constant yelling in the corridor when people refused to take off their wet shoes were also a daily occurrence in Nana's new life.
It was still raining heavily outside, yet for some reasons the residents of Purple Dormitory chose to leave the warmth of their blankets and even worse, went outside with an umbrella in their hands.
Nana was one of them. The sound of rain hitting her umbrella made her sigh helplessly. She really didn't want to go out on such gloomy weather, but it couldn't be helped. She needed to support herself by working her ass off. She still wanted another trip to soothe herself physically and mentally, so she needed to save some more money. As much as she wanted to complain about the weather, she didn't dare to do so.
After her return from vacation, she had an unexpected news from the Higher Ups that she would be transferred to City M as soon as possible. So, she packed up and prepared all the necessary documents for a job transfer.
Two weeks later, she was in City M with a helpless smile on her face while leaning back on her new chair in her new workplace. The process of adaptation wasn't that hard for her. She was a lukewarm person and a great observer. She was very good at reading people's mood and the situation. Her old senior colleagues all agreed that she was the nicest junior which was why she was loved by them. She wasn't the person who would force someone to be with her. She wasn't clingy, too. She always maintained the right distance with other people. It was always other people who came to her for comfort, and this also applied in her new workplace.
If there was a thing that she found hard to adapt, it was the change of climate of the new place. Her previous workplace was situated in a cool place. Even during dry season, it wouldn't be as hot as City M. The rainy season was especially cold, though.
In City M, the rainy season rarely felt cold. Mostly it was warm. The warmth already made her feel sticky because she needed to move around a lot. It was a torture for her. She couldn't imagine what would happen to her when dry season came.
It had been more than two months since she came to City M and she still couldn't get used to the climate. She used to like rain because she felt comfortable in the cold, but now she couldn't say the same.
Other than the excessive warmth, there was also one thing that had been bothering her ever since her job transfer. It was a rather troublesome problem and she would choose not to talk about it if she could. But, this topic made her unconsciously pondering about her relationship matter, which was why she found it annoying.
"Nana! Hi!"
Nana took a deep breath before she lifted her head to see the owner of the voice. A force smile appeared on her face as her eyes caught sight of a familiar figure half running towards her.
"Hi."
Wira's smiling face stopped not too far away from her. The excitement in his eyes betrayed the calm persona he set for himself. His broad shoulders and straight posture coupled with his slim fit shirts that fitted his body perfectly and long legs made him even more charming. Even under the yellow colored umbrella that usually looked tacky on a man, he still looked so damn attractive.
Nana didn't pay attention to his bodily changes when they met before but after their meeting in City M, she couldn't help but think that years of being separated had made him extra attractive. He really had maintained his body in a good shape these years. With this body of his, Nana was sure he was the object of jealousy, admiration and lust for some people.
She, as the person he was approaching, had been the object of jealousy of the people around her for an entire different reason, though.
"Have you had breakfast?" Wira asked warmly. He looked at his watch and smiled. "You don't have class this morning, right? Let's grab a bite after you clock in at work."
"You've already remembered my schedule?" Her left eyebrow arched as she asked accusingly.
"Of course, I need to remember it." Wira waved his phone with Nana's schedule as his wallpaper. He was close to grin from ear to ear from being proud of himself. "Let's go." He motioned her to where he parked his car.
It was a usual occurrence in her new life and it wasn't like she could refuse him, not when he had been asking her politely and nicely.
Later on, they were in a restaurant, sitting face to face while sipping on their warm drinks. Their order was still being processed in the kitchen so they had to wait for a while.
Wira was about to start a conversation when he noticed the incoming call from her phone. "Your mom calls you."
Nana was startled. An ominous feeling clouded her heart as she looked at the caller ID. It was really her mom. For her mom to call this early, there must be something going on.
"Mom? Is there something wrong?" She asked cautiously.
"Where are you?" Her mother's voice sounded as stern as ever. There was even a hint of displeasure in it. Nana didn't know what she did wrong to hear such tone from her mother.
"I'm going out with a friend to have breakfast. What is it, Mom?" She swallowed the lump in her throat and convinced herself that it was nothing, that after being treated like that for as long as she could remember, it shouldn't matter to her anymore.
"I went to your cousin's wedding last night."
Nana sighed. It was clear to her now where this conversation was heading.
