Matteo’s Pov
The moon hung above the skies, illuminating every darkened corner with its luminescent glow. It formed eerie shadows, that if one was not aware, would mistake them as monsters hiding and waiting to pounce.
My breath hitched as I watched them from afar. Even from this distance, I could smell her scent, arousing the desire I thought had disappeared along with everything I wanted to stop feeling at that time.
I growled, and smoke puffed in between my gritted teeth while I continued to watch. My heart pricked, observing her panicked movements.
I clenched my hands into fists, sharing her agitation when no doctor or nurses seemed to be bothered by what was happening to the child.
His face wasn’t visible from where I was but his features seemed to have been taken from his mother.
Worry and frustration creased on her forehead, her gaze turning to her left and then to her right. I hid behind a corner, intent on not being seen.
