"No," I answered. My voice was barely audible at first, tamed.
I got mad at myself for becoming soft and almost ready to accept his apology.
Yet, I remembered the vow I made five years ago.
Firmly standing my ground, I took a step back, glaring at Alpha Matteo.
"No! What you've done was not something I could forgive and forget over your uncertain apology."
Alpha Matteo's aura began to change. But he kept a straight face, his expression stoic.
However, I sensed his frustration. It made me angry too.
Did he really think I would forgive him just because he asked?
He opened his mouth to respond, the tension between us instantly shifting to a heated one.
However, before he could utter a word, my phone started to vibrate. I immediately picked it up, silencing the Alpha with a one-handed gesture.
"The doctor wants to talk to you,” Aunt Maurice spoke with such severity that I immediately walked back inside, ignoring Alpha Matteo completely.
