Maurice’s Pov
I rapped on the door angrily, and my brows furrowed deeply.
There was no immediate response. It fueled my anger toward my brother-in-law, who vowed to love my sister until eternity.
When he remarried, I didn’t say a word and accepted the truth that there were things he needed to fulfil as an Alpha.
He did love my sister when she was alive. I witnessed it. But what happened now? His stubbornness to take his daughter back infuriated me.
I held my hand up, ready to pound harder on the closed door.
A little while later, the door creaked open and an unfamiliar face welcomed me. The young lady bowed resolutely.
She must be new, seeing that she could barely recognize me.
“Where’s Alpha Richard?”
“In his study, madam. Are you his guest?”
“I am his sister-in-law from the original wife,” I stated, my words cutting through her. She trembled, taking a step back.
I didn’t mean to scare her but she was the last thing I had to worry about.
