Proper etiquette in social gatherings wasn’t taught to me. Besides the fact that no one could teach, I didn’t have that luxury before.
This morning had been crazy enough for me to ask any of the servants to do something like that. Louvel spoke of it when she initiated that we start fresh.
But her brief lecture slipped past my mind. I couldn’t remember much of it. Yet one skill I had developed as a rogue was the power of observation.
I watched how and what utensils they used for a certain kind of dish. I adapted and ate like I had always been doing it.
The meat tasted wonderful in my mouth. I wanted to drop the spoon and fork and eat by hand. It was faster to gobble when one was using their hand.
However, the rules of proper table manners held me back.
We all sat at a long table. Father Alpha was at the head. Louvel was on his right, and I was on his left.
Louvel and Elsie didn’t seem to like that outcome. But they stayed silent as it was father's wish.
