Chapter 29 - Chocolate and Flowers

"Sorry can't," said Joya while hiding the two items behind her back.

" Why?" asked Ridwan emphatically.

His jaw looked tense, so that the muscles in his neck and head tensed up too. Ridwan looked at Joya sharply. "Is it because the chocolate was Pramono's gift?"

Joya nodded quickly. "These chocolates and flowers don't belong to you."

Ridwan growled. Without another word, he turned and left Joya. Joya frowned, staring at Ridwan's back which seemed to be getting away.

"Is he mad?" snorted Joya with one of her lips forming. "Very childish. Angry because he wasn't given chocolate," Joya sneered.

Joya walked over to his desk. He put the things he was carrying on the table, then reached for the telephone receiver that was on the front end of his desk.

"Please send one OB to my room!" asked Joya to the person she contacted.

Inside the CEO's room, Ridwan was grumpy. He was annoyed. At home, his wife ignores him and at work, his wife dares to accept other men's gifts.

PRAAAKKK!

Ridwan threw the documents he was holding until the contents scattered. He loosened his tie as he unbuttoned the top button of his shirt. In his whole life, this was the first time Ridwan felt truly annoyed. And he was confused about how to get rid of his frustration.

Check!

Gio enters the room. His eyes widened at the messy state of the room. Gio picked up the scattered papers and sat in front of his cousin. His eyes narrowed seeing Ridwan's appearance which was no less messy.

"Did something happen?" asked Gio.

Ridwan gave him a sharp look. "Would every woman be happy if given chocolates and flowers?"

Geo frowned. "Why suddenly ask something like that?"

"Just answer," Ridwan said as he gritted his teeth. Geo nodded. "Every woman likes beautiful and sweet things."

"So flowers and chocolate are beautiful and sweet?" Ridwan asked again. Gio nodded again. "Will their anger also disappear if they accept those two items?"

"Of course. They will be happy," answered Gio. He glanced at his cousin's face. "What's wrong?" Gio asked, frowning.

Ridwan exhaled sharply. "This morning, Joya was angry and I was confused about what to do."

Gio raised one of his eyebrows. The corner of his lips twitched as he saw Ridwan's expression, which was usually straight, now looked confused. "You are confused because Joya is angry?"

"Of course. He ignored me. I felt uncomfortable," said Ridwan.

"You love him?" asked Gio.

Ridwan's face was flat again. "I don't know what love is. I'm just worried because Joya isn't behaving like she used to."

Geo smiled broadly. "What you are feeling right now is part of the feeling of love. You are in love, Ridwan!" he said, as if discovering something big.

"Don't make it up!" replied Ridwan. "You know very well what I've been through," he continued with dreamy eyes.

" Sorry!" said Gio with a sigh. " What can I do for you?"

Ridwan stared at Gio closely. "Buy as many chocolates and flowers as you can, then send them to my house."

"For Joya?" Gio asked confirming with a face that looked confused.

Ridwan nodded.

Knock!knock!knock!

There was a knock on the door. " Enter!" said Ridwan.

Joya opened the door carrying a bar of chocolate and a bunch of flowers. He walked towards Ridwan's table. There were curious looks on the faces of the two men in front of him.

"Here is the chocolate you wanted." Joya handed over a chocolate bar that was smaller in size than the chocolate she got from Pram.

Ridwan looked at Joya sharply. "It's not the same chocolate."

Joya smiled dryly. "Too much chocolate can give you a toothache, sir." Inside, Joya cursed the high price of chocolate.

"I just want the colat that you got from Pram," Ridwan hissed as he turned his face away but looked tense.

Joya glanced at Gio, gave a pitiful look and asked for help.

"Just give it!" said Gio without a sound.

Joya is confused. He was starting to get annoyed with his boss' attitude which was very childish. "Sorry, Mr. Ridwan. I have returned the chocolate from Mr. Pram. That's why I bought these chocolates and flowers for you." Ridwan looked up. "Why was it returned?"

"Because there is no reason for me to accept things from Pak Pram. Besides, I don't want to get diabetes because I eat too much chocolate," answered Joya in an annoyed tone. "Should I ask for it back?"

Ridwan shook his head.

"Where should I put this flower?" asked Joya, holding up the flower in her hand.

" Here, please." Ridwan pointed at the flower vase at the end of his table.

Joya arranged the flowers she had brought and put them in a vase. Without Joya noticing, a smile appeared and spread across Ridwan's face.

"Yes, sir. Is there anything else you need?" asked Joy.

"No. Enough," said Ridwan.

"Then I'll excuse you." Joya bowed, then turned around.

"Joya," Ridwan called. Joy turned back. Ridwan took the chocolate on his table. "For you alone," he said, handing over the chocolate in his hand.

"No need. Thank you," said Joya firmly.

"Why? The chocolate isn't too big," Ridwan asked confused.

Joya took a deep breath while still maintaining her smile. "Firstly, I bought the chocolates for you and secondly, there is no reason for me to accept things from you. Excuse me!"

Annoyed, Joya immediately left the superior's room. 'Why are all the men I meet so annoying?' wailed Joya in her heart.

As soon as the door to the room is closed. Gio's laugh broke. Now he understood the reason why his cousin was cranky.

"Do I still have to buy as many chocolates and flowers as I can, then send them to your house?" asked Gio in the midst of his laughter.

"Forget it! Get back to work," Ridwan answered with a smile on his face.

***

Joya glanced at the clock on her hand which showed .15.00. Seeing that there was still a lot of work, he stretched his hands for a while, then resumed his work. Today, Joya is assigned to tidy up all the soft data. He was not even invited to a meeting so that his work could be completed quickly.

" You!"

A woman greeted, startling Joya who was concentrating.

Joya looked up. His eyes widened, seeing the old woman standing right in front of his desk.

" Mrs!" said Joya trying to look polite.

> Follow me!" Erlina asked as she left Joya and entered Ridwan's room.

Joy stood up. His feelings were unsettled. He was afraid that she would be rude again. Joya hesitates to go. But, because the old woman was the owner of the company, Joya couldn't help but follow her.

Timidly, Joy opened the door of the room. You see the woman sitting on the sofa.

Sit down! he said, pointing to the empty sofa in front of him.

Erlina stared intently at the woman her grandson had married. He examined her appearance from top to bottom. Following his every move, without missing a beat.

Getting an unfriendly look, Joya's heart was pounding even more. He sat down feeling nervous and scared.

"How much money do you want to get away from my grandson's life?"
