Chapter 32 - Reality

"All because of Mr. Ridwan, if he had not come, I would have got the money and Mrs. Erlina did not insult me. Mr. Ridwan destroyed everything."

Joya blames Ridwan for everything that happened to her. He could not accept himself being humiliated and losing his severance pay.

"Imagine if I get the severance pay. We can open a business and next month we can celebrate our wedding. CK! Mr. Ridwan is really annoying," he cursed.

Irwan laughed at his wife's complaint. He had been worried that his wife would cry all night, but it turned out that Joya was cranky and cursed at her boss.

Thirty minutes ago, they arrived home. Even though along the way Joya didn't stop crying, when she got home, Joya's crying subsided. After cleaning up, Joya invited Irwan to sit down and relax in the living room. And now, Joya is telling about what happened to her.

Joya was stunned to see Irwan's laughter which she rarely saw. Her husband was so handsome when he laughed, but unfortunately, he rarely did. Joya became curious, what had happened to Irwan so that his facial expression was always blank.

Suddenly, Joya remembered her first meeting with Irwan. it happened two months ago, on Windy's wedding day. At that time, Joya, who was at Iza's house, was forced to go to the hospital, because her mother-in-law's high blood pressure recurred.

Joya, who was in a hurry, didn't realize that her wallet had fallen. While boarding the taxi, Joya was surprised when a hand held the taxi door.

"Is this your wallet? I found it in front of it," asked a man, showing Joya's red wallet while pointing at the road in front of his house.

Seeing that her wallet was in the hands of a strange man, Joya immediately took it and checked its contents. Luckily, the contents of his wallet were still intact, his ID card and twenty notes were still there.

"Thank you. I didn't realize my wallet had fallen," said Joya, smiling.

The flat-faced man nodded, then let go of his hand from the car door. When Joya was about to close the car door, the man's hand held her again.

"Is that enough?" he asked. Joy frowned. "Your money. I see it's not too much."

Joya's face reddened, understanding the meaning of the man's question. "Owh, that! I ho-"

"Come on, use this money for taxi fare." the man gave one hundred thousand, then left.

Joya smiled remembering that incident. The man thinks he has no money, even though Joya always keeps his money in his bag, not in his wallet.

And what surprised Joya, it turned out that the man who helped her at that time was Irwan, her brother-in-law. Joya found out about this when her mother sent her a photo of Windy and Irwan who were getting married.

"Are you daydreaming?"

Irwan's deep voice woke Joya from her reverie.

Joya shook her head with a smile. "No, I just remembered something."

The smile on Ivan's face faded. "Don't remember the bad. Just remember the good." Joy nodded. Irwan looked at his wife closely. " How about your job? Are you going to quit?"

Joya knit her brows, she thought. He was indeed annoyed and humiliated, actually Joya wanted out. But if he leaves now, Joya will not get his full salary. Meanwhile, Joya had planned to use her salary to take Irwan on their honeymoon.

"I will keep working. I didn't do anything wrong, there's no reason for me to stop. Besides, Mrs. Erlina owes me an apology," answered Joya. Then, he exhaled heavily. "I hope Mr. Ridwan and his grandmother will make up soon. Mrs. Erlina looks very fond of her grandson.

Joya remembered the look in Erlina's eyes when Ridwan snapped at her. He looks sad.

Ivan smiled wryly. He doubted Joya's words. All this time, Irwan felt, his grandmother only saw herself as a substitute for her son. He demands Irwan to be like his father. Erlina even changed her name to her father's. "If my face doesn't look like my dad's, maybe Grandma will never think of me as her grandson," thought Irwan.

***

In a luxurious European style house. Erlina was standing in front of the window holding the iron bars that framed the window in front of her. His hands clenched so tightly against the trellis that his knuckles turned white.

"So Irwan is still with that woman?" Erlina asked in a cold voice.

The middle-aged man standing behind him nodded. "Yes, madam. Most likely, the young master's wife is not pretending."

Erlina turned around while showing a cynical smile. "But he is easily tempted by money."

The man lowered his head, afraid that his words would offend the high madam before him. Erlina walked to her luxurious chair, then sat down and took the photo frame in front of her.

He looked at the face of a man with blue eyes who was smiling while hugging him. "I don't want Irwan to be stuck with a money-crazed woman like his mother. After failing to get money from me, that woman was determined to sabotage her husband's car just for insurance money. I don't want to lose it a second time."

Erlina closed her eyes, remembering the cause of her son's accident. I still clearly remember his son's last words asking Erlina to keep Irwan away from his mother's family.

Ridwan said that Tiara and her father approached him for money. He only found out about this when he heard his father-in-law's conversation with Iza about the debt that Brimantara owed him.

After learning the truth, Ridwan intended to pick Irwan up from his parents-in-law's house and take him away. However, Tiara, who caught Ridwan standing in front of his father's study, prevented him from leaving.

They quarreled and argued. When Ridwan got into the car, Tiara unknowingly joined him too. When Ridwan's car was driving on the main road, Tiara realized that her husband's car was damaged. He also asked Ridwan to slow down the car. However, it was too late when a truck sped towards them and Ridwan could not control his car's speed because his car's gas and brake pedals had been sabotaged.

Finally, the accident happened. Ridwan and Tiara have an accident. Ridwan only survived the day after the accident. As for Tiara, she fell into a coma for several days and finally died.

Erlina shed her tears. "After losing his daughter, I thought brimantara would come to his senses. But I was wrong, he instead used Irwan to pay his debt to Iza."

"If I knew about that man's cunning plan, I would never allow my granddaughter to come home to meet him," said Erlina in a trembling voice. Silence the feelings of anger and hatred in his heart.

Alvin looked at the old woman in front of him with pity, he knew very well the difficulties Erlina was facing because of the Brimantara family. "Then what will madam do now? Shouldn't madam explain everything to young master?"

Erlina looked at Alvin sharply. "What should I explain to him? Should I say if Brimantara deliberately married himself to Iza's granddaughter in order to pay off the insurance money left by his father?"

Erlina's emotions rise when she remembers Brimantara's cunning plan behind her grandson's wedding.

After a few days Irwan got married. Erlina knows that her son's insurance money, which had been frozen all this time, had been disbursed on Irwan's wedding day.

Erlina thought the money was deliberately frozen because Brimantara regretted that she never wanted to use it. But as it turned out, the money couldn't be disbursed because Ridwan changed his life insurance policy holders. Ridwan made Irwan his policyholder. And the insurance money was liquid when Irwan got married.

Brimantara, who already knew this, took advantage of Irwan. He deliberately arranges an arranged marriage between Irwan and Iza's granddaughter, so that some of the insurance money goes to Iza as debt repayments. And stupid Irwan, he even gave up some of his money for Windy.

Only a few people know about this problem. Even Iza's children and grandchildren did not know about it. They only know the money as an inheritance.

It took a lot of effort to find out this secret. Erlina knows everything from Alex, the lawyer for the Brimantara family, who also benefits from the insurance money left by Ridwan.

"I don't want to make Irwan fall again. It's enough for me that he feels hurt. Let him think that his grandfather really loves him," said Erlina.

"For the time being, you should keep an eye on that woman's movements first. I heard that her personality is different from that of her family. But we still have to be careful. After all, blood is thicker than water. If her brother and both parents were cunning, then that woman would definitely not much different."

Alvin nodded his head. "Okay madam."

"Now go~ I want to be alone," Erlina waved her hand.

Without being asked twice, Alvin left Erlina who was still paying attention to the photo of her dead son.
