Chapter 19 - 19. Jump scare!

After what felt like an eternity to Sophia, she finally understood the situation of this world. Each species lived on their own lands, from what she observed, was actually continents, and after asking the goddess some questions, which weren't against some mystical rules or anything, she managed to establish that there were eight continents on the planet Gilthara.

Each species had developed on each of these continents and each species had leaders who were the most powerful, rise up to take over and rule. There were times throughout its short early history when the different species would live amongst each other but many unfortunately many stuck to their own. It was relatively peaceful for the majority until some of the leaders, who had become greedy for more, would start wars and fight for more land and resources, killing scores of the weak and the innocent in the process. As Sophia floated above the ground this was all the events she had observed.

She felt tired of it all and didn't want to see anymore, so she turned well she didn't know how she did it, but she had managed to turn around, maybe by sheer force of will or maybe by imagining she was turned around and so she turned so she had managed to turn around and what she saw made her jump! Jump right out of her skin! Well, figuratively speaking, otherwise, her experience exploring a strange world would have gotten a lot worse!

The world she was previously watching from afar was now terrifyingly close. She was in-fact facing a beast with enormous razor-sharp teeth, so, so many teeth! It looked to be a cross between a lion and a shark! Its mouth was the shark part, it's body the lion part, its tail was that of a serpent that had a scorpion stinger. Damn, what a scary creature! And it was right in front of her now, it looked like it was watching her, almost like it could see her but Sophia thought that that was impossible she was obviously she was like the ghost of Christmas past. Invisible to everyone and everything.

So having this scary ass creature not only behind her but from what she could see, looking right at her, was terrifying! All of sudden that beast started to growl and move even closer to her, she thought, although it was meant to be impossible, she could feel the creatures hot nasty breath on her face.

It's mouth then opened wide as if it was going to eat her, Sophia tried to desperately run at this point, well the moment she saw this thing she wanted to run but then again, she couldn't! it was like the strength she had before to turn around had disappeared or maybe it wasn't actually her who had turned herself around previously. Maybe the Goddess did. And now was leaving her to be eaten! 'Damn it'- Sophia thought. 'Nothing good ever happens on my night's out!

The last time I broke a heel and tore my skirt and now I'm about to be eaten but an alien weird ass creature, who's by the way, breaths smells like its be drinking garbage juice as it daily drink! So foul!' As Sophia quipped in her thoughts about her impending death, not focusing on the beast in front of her, she felt a warmth was over her, her head snapped up and she looked at the creature who still had it mouth wide open in front of her face.

Before she could register her seemingly impending death, Sophia surroundings changed again. She couldn't understand what that goddess, who had brought her here was trying to do. What did she ever do wrong to deserve this experience? First, she was trying to enjoy herself on her well-earned night out but now she was what stuck in an illusion or teleported to another world almost killed by an ugly ass beast that tried to at her face?!

Why what did she do to deserve this? Sophie lamented at her bad fate! She again wasn't concentrating on her surroundings, and she heard a calming voice again in her head that startled her badly. "Sophia calm down, you had to see the creature to know what this world faced all those eons ago. I chose to show you the least scary one, the others are…. Worse."- The Goddess sighed out loud after dropping that particular bomb.
