Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Military Academy II

"Josh!" Maggie screamed from outside Josh's room.

"What does she want now." Josh grunted.

He reached for his alarm and realized that he had woken up late.

"Ah, dam it. I forgot to set the alarm." Josh sighed, getting up from his bed and doing a few stretches.

"Do you want to be late!?" Maggie barged into Josh's room.

"You can't just barge in like that! What if I was naked?" Josh asked in frustration.

"You sure pack a lot." Maggie smiled seductively, gazing at Josh's morning boner.

"Just get out will you?" Josh sighed frustrated.

Maggie began walking out of Josh's room, "hurry up." She reminded before shutting the door behind her.

"Can't even get a little bit of privacy in here." Josh complained under his breath, as he went about his usual morning routine.

Luckily for him, he would soon be going out.

-----

"Hello ma'am I am Sergeant Trent, and I am here to pick up Mr Zhane." Josh heard a voice say from the front door. It was time.

Josh made his way to the living room.

When Sergeant Trent saw him, he immediately checked his tablet to be sure it was him.

"It seems you are Mr Zhane?" Trent asked.

"Maybe." Josh half shrugged, dragging his luggage along.

Trent nodded, "I am here on government orders to take you on bus 69 heading for the military academy 7."

"I'll miss you." Maggie hugged Josh and kissed him on the cheek.

"It's not like I'm going to stay there forever." Josh chuckled.

"Be safe for me okay?" Maggie requested.

He was the only family she had left and was like a son to her. She wouldn't be able to bear losing him.

"Not sure if I can't keep that promise." Josh chuckled.

The path he was about to take would be a rough one, and there were bound to be risks on the way. He would need to get stronger so that the risks wouldn't send him six feet below.

Josh walked out of the door and Sergeant Trent followed.

"This is going to be chaotic." Josh muttered, staring at the large bus.

He was bound to meet at least one person from his class, and that was something he wanted to avoid.

Josh boarded the bus and tried to find a space for him to sit. He reached the back of the bus and took a seat.

'Looks like I'm destined to always sit at the back.' Josh thought, he had always been a backbencher, that was where he felt most comfortable.

The bus moved, and soon they were driving through the beautiful streets. Josh fed his eyes with the scenery while in deep thought.

"Please can I sit beside you?"

Josh was jerked back to reality by a sweet feminine voice. He looked up to see who it was. For the first time in his life, Josh was stunned.

Usually, he was prettier or at least on the same level of beauty as the girls he had come in contact with. This girl standing before him shattered that record.

Her facial features were so beautiful that Josh found it hard to believe that she was real and he wasn't hallucinating.

Dressed in a black dress that hugged her luscious curves tightly, and a face that seemed to be hand-crafted by the gods. And exuding an innocent yet regal aura, She was a beauty to behold.

"Yeah, why not?" Josh replied, making space for her to sit.

"Thank you." The girl nodded and sat beside Josh.

Josh stared at her face for a few seconds, she looked oddly familiar, like he had seen her somewhere. But he couldn't remember where is when.

"You're Zoey White?" Josh had finally remembered where he had seen her.

She was a descendant of one of the most powerful families in the world 'The White family' so she was known by most of the populace.

"I know my name thank you." Zoey replied without any emotion.

"And there she comes." Zoey sighed, as a girl with a beauty that rivalled hers, putting on a dazzling white dress with gave off a seductive and playful aura approached them.

"Hi, sis!" The girl greeted cheerfully and sat beside Zoey without asking for permission.

"You're annoying." Zoey sighed.

She had never liked her sister's overly cheerful attitude. Well, what would you expect from someone named 'Cherry'. Although they had their differences, she was still her bestĀ friend.

"I'll take that as a compliment." Cherry giggled.

"Now, who's that guy, your cru-"

Zoey elbowed Cheery on the ribs before she could complete that sentence.

"Ouch, that hurt." Cherry frowned, although she didn't feel much pain.

"Stop pretending. I didn't even hit with the intention to hurt." Zoey dismissed her sister's complaint.

"So cruel." Cherry pouted.

Cherry stretched her hand to Josh, "Hi I'm Cherry, you?"

Josh accepted her handshake, "I'm Joshua, but you can call me Josh."

"Josh, cool name." Cherry complimented.

"Josh and Zoe, fitting." Cherry said, with a pondering expression on her face.

"I am going to kill you." Zoey gritted her teeth.

"That must be the sixth time today." Cherry rolled her eyes. She was used to receiving death threats from her sister.

"Sevens the lucky number, you better watch your back." Zoey warned.

"I'm so frightened." Cherry giggled.

Zoey sighed, tired of her sister's annoying attitude.

"So tell us a little about you, I would like to know more about my sister's future boyfriend." Zoey turned to Josh. And Zoey looked at her with killing intent hidden deep within her eyes.

"You're both cute," Josh chuckled, "as expected of twins."

Cherry smiled, "we're best friends after all."

Josh nodded, "there isn't much to know about me really, both my parents died s-"

"Your parents are dead?" Cheery looked at Josh with a terrified expression on her face, Zoey too looked at Josh surprised.

"Mum died when I was born and dad died in a car accident." Josh gave the lie he usually said when asked about his father's death.

When he was younger, he just didn't feel comfortable telling people his father died in a pub fight. Now that he knew his true roots, he couldn't tell people his father was the vampire king also. So he chose to stick with his original story.

"That must hurt a lot." Cherry held Josh's hand in a bid to comfort him.

"It doesn't hurt much. Cried my heart out over it years ago." Josh sighed.

When he grew to realize that he had no parents. Josh would cry his heart out every night for almost a year, until he accepted the harsh reality, and no longer felt the pain.

"Cherry White, why don't you come to sit with me?" A handsome boy that paled in comparison to Josh, appeared before them. Staring at Josh's hands in Cherry's with disgust.

"No thank you." Cherry shook her head.

"Why?" The boy asked in a slightly raised tone, his annoyance showing on his face.

"I don't want to, why else." Cherry shrugged, not caring about his feelings.

"Is it because of this thrash?" The boy pointed at Josh.

"Wh-"

Josh stopped Cherry from saying anything, "I do not appreciate your comments, Samuel." Josh glared at him.

Samuel had been one of his biggest bullies. He was from the Stone family, so he had many lapdogs and cronies. Josh was his major target, as he was disgusted that he was inferior to trash like him in terms of looks.

"Oho, you think because you're holding hands with a pretty girl you're a big boy?" Samuel snickered.

"She doesn't want to sit with you so why don't you just go sit down, and stop seeking trouble like it owes you money?"

"You." Samuel shot an arrow made of earth at Josh.

"Never pick a fight with someone weaker than you," Zoey blocked his earth arrow with her shadow block, "do you really feel that insecure that you're mad just because a girl refused to come sit with you? You're a disgrace to the Stone family." Zoey looked at Samuel with disgust.

"What's going on over here?" Sergeant Trent appeared between them, as he noticed the commotion.

"I'm just teaching a fool some morals." Zoey kept on glaring at Samuel.

"You call me a fool?" Samuel felt anger in his heart.

"Yes. What are you going to do about it?" Zoey looked at Samuel with an expressionless face.

Samuel knew not to annoy this crazy woman so he turned to her sister.

"You are really choosing to sit with that thrash over me?" Samuel's chest rose up and down as he felt immense rage.

"You're the only thrash I'm seeing here." Cherry shrugged.

She has never liked Samuels's pompous attitude. Their families had dinner together a couple of times. So, they naturally had a few conversations with each other. Just talking to him for a few minutes, you could literally feel the arrogance he exuded.

"You," Samuel pointed at Josh, "You're going to regret this day, mark my words."

"Now that you've made your threat. scurry back to your seat, please. You're the air here smell, did you even brush your teeth this morning?" Josh ignored Samuel's threat and even thrash-talked him.

If it was before, he would be careful. But now, he was confident that in a few weeks, he would catch up to him, or surpass him even.

Samuel walked back to his seat, vowing to make Josh's life a living hell.
