Chereads / If These Walls Could Talk / Chapter 27 - 26 Light

Chapter 27 - 26 Light

"So what is bothering you?" I ask Lance as he drives on in silence.

He sighs a few times, his mouth moving, but not articulating what's going through his mind.

"Um... I know I didn't suddenly go deaf... You remember you have to say what's on your mind out loud, right?" I cock a brow at him, a dry chuckle escaping my lips as he grimaces.

"I was trying to think of the right way to say what's on my mind without sounding like a complete asshole." He spares a glance at me before returning his attention back on the road.

"Well, why not tell me and we can go from there?" I suggest, leaning back in the seat to view him better.

His hands clench the wheel a few times before he finally takes a deep breath.

"I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable in front of my mom and the...the doctor earlier." He gets it out, somewhat hesitant on the last part.

"I'm a big girl, I can handle some awkward emotions and situations. I expected better from you, but I figured you were just teasing me anyways."

"Did I ruin your chances with the good doctor?" His voice comes out tense, even though he tries to play it off as irritation, I can tell it's jealousy.

"There was nothing to ruin. We were just, we are, going to have coffee." I state plainly.

He sighs, "Okay, I didn't think you would want to have coffee with someone like him... He seems to be ... not your type." He spares me a glance as he checks his mirrors to take the next exit.

"I know, hence the reason why earlier, when he chased me down, I informed him what I did."

He turns onto the main street that would take us to the aquarium and cocks a brow at me, eyes wide with shock. "Informed him of what? That you have a fetish?!"

I guffaw, "Pfft! No, silly! I told him I was not I was not looking for a relationship right now, but if he'd still like to get coffee, I didn't mind." I shrug.

Lance shakes his head, chuckling to himself.

"What's so funny?"

We pull into the parking lot and Lance quickly finds a spot. When he turns the car off and unbuckles, he turns to me with a smile still on his face. "You never did answer my question, or my moms for that matter."

This asshole is teasing me! Two can play that game.

"What question?" I roll my eyes and shake my head.

Lance exits the car and comes around to open my door for me, I step out and as he shuts the door, he grabs my wrist and intertwines our fingers. "Do you consider tonight a date, ma'am?" His grin lights up his face as he waits to hear my answer.

I pull him toward me, pressing my body against his, feeling he's excited as I stand on tip toe to whisper in his ear.

"Sure, it's a date." I fall back to stand normally, giggling as I tug him forward to the doors. I glance over my shoulder at the stunned man I'm dragging, who looks like he doesn't believe his ears.

"A play date." I inform him, snapping him from his thoughts.

Giggling again at his wide eyed reaction, I can't help the pause in myself as his face quickly changes to narrowed eyes with pinched features.

What does that look mean?

He quickly erases his expression and replaces it with a smile. "That's my kind of date." He pulls me to him as we near the ticket counter, where the decent crowd of about thirty patrons are lining up to purchase tickets.

He wraps his arms around my waist as we approach the window, holding me like we were a couple. I feel awkward and I know the feeling probably read on my face, but Lance acted like it was the most natural thing in the world to him.

Why the hell is he holding me like this?

"What are you doing?" I hissed through clenched teeth softly, keeping a smile across my face.

"A play date is still a date." Lance whispers huskily into my ear, sending shivers down my spine. "Besides..." His voice purrs into me, making me shudder. "I remember a little promise someone made earlier."

We step up to the window and purchase the tickets, giving me the chance to regain my composure and keep some space between us.

We enter the aquarium and take a look around at the different exhibits, seeing interesting fish and plants.

"Look it's a photo booth, come on." Lance grabs my hand and pulls me towards the booth.

"Lance..." I grumble, "What are we teenagers?"

He laughs, "My mom seems to think so. Come on, take the pictures and we can gift them to her. She'll eat this stuff up and it'll make her day."

"Yeah, but I am uncomfortable about giving your mom the wrong image of us. I don't want to lie to her." I pull my hand from him, but he just doesn't let go.

"Come on, it'll make her happy." Lance pleads with his eyes.

I groan, "Fine."

Smiling he drags me into the booth, setting me on his lap and pulling the curtain closed.

I lean forward and stick a ten dollar bill in the slot, making Lance groan as I rub my ass against his cock.

The screen pops on with the instructions as Lance slides his hands up my skirt. He pauses, "You put on pantyhose?" He questions, sliding his hand up to grip my pussy and rub his palm against it hard.

"Which frame do we want?" I say leaning forward into his hand, pointing at the different frames. I grind my hips in his lap, making him work his hand to create a hole in my hose.

"That one." His husky voice and hot breath dance on my neck as he get's his fingers through my hose and into my wet pussy. He strokes his fingers in and out, rubbing my clit as I lean forward and press the frame he picked.

The box tells us to prepare and does a countdown. I smile as Lance smiles too looking at the camera.

"Thank you for visiting! Your pictures are being printed!"

The machine's voice comes through the speakers.

"Shall we take a few more? I think we may have messed those up for my mother." Lance's smug smirk has me opening my mouth, just as he glides a finger just right over my clit, making me gasp.

He groans, "Fuck... don't make sounds like that, other wise I will not be able to control myself..."

"Please take your pictures! Have a nice day!"

I reach over and pull out our pictures and immediately turn red.

"Oh yes, we're retaking them." I mutter, bending back over to put in another bill. I grab both of Lances hands, entwining our fingers together so he can't slip them anywhere again.

The second picture in I hear, "Lirael" whispered into my ear, so I look at him to ask him what, but instead I'm silenced by a quick kiss on the lips.

"You sneaky little ..." I try to seem to angry but my startled amusement catches my lips up into a smile.

"Thank you for visiting! Your pictures are being printed!"

"Well, I hope these came out better." Shaking my head, I reach for the pictures that are slowly coming out of the printer.

"Please take your pictures! Have a nice day!"

I pull the pictures out the rest of the way and take a look.

The first picture is great, we're both smiling looking at the camera, the second has my heart beating faster. Lance looks at me in the picture with so much adoration, it startles me. The next one is us looking at each other, eyes wide with smiles and the last one has me trying to scowl at him.

"These are perfect!" Lance takes the pictures and looks at them. "My mom will love these and hopefully it will lift her spirits." He places the pictures in his wallet, and gestures for us to leave.

I exit the box, my mind is going in circles, as I stare off at the new display, not taking any information on it in.

I should just ask him what his intentions are. What he's doing, it's sending me mixed signals and I don't know how to go about this situation now. I mean should I stop this? I don't want to be vulnerable again like with Billy. He manipulated me into thinking I cared about him.

Wait...

Isn't Lance doing that too, subtly?
