#Chapter29
The team
Ian's POV
The whirring of the fan above us, was the only thing that could be heard as we waited in silence in my living room. The drive back home was as silent as this, but this one was definitely the worse.
I glanced at both Zara and Jason before I turned my attention to the evening sky. Hues of purple and pink tainted the sky and the city lights glistened among the burgeoning darkness.
/"At least we've killed one member of the cult,/" Zara said, breaking the itching silence. /"That's got to count for something right?/"
Jason and I both gave her looks and she knew what we were trying to tell her.
Shrugging her shoulders, she slouched on the sofa. /"Alright, I'll shut up./"
I removed my suit jacket and flung it over the head of the sofa. Sighing, I loosened my tie and crossed a leg over the other. Feet falls bounced off the walls of the hallway, and it got louder as soon as Gabrielle entered the living room.
