Finally, Arora was crowned as queen of kabal and the party started. The real party began. Arora was standing isolated on the balcony of the second floor of the building. She didn't want to waste anymore time staying there in that hall. From where she stood, she could see a clear night view of the city since it was already late and it was beautiful. This was it. Her kingdom. And she couldn't still believe it. She had being anticipating this day and finally it was almost over.
" I'm very sure your insides must be booming with pride right now". Kona appeared behind Arora and she turned.
" you guessed right, sis. I'm very proud that I am the new 'queen' of this land" Arora spoke, straining on the word 'queen'.
Kona clenched her fists and faked a smile at Arora. she leaned on and whispered audibly into Arora's ear,
" no need to become so happy yet. I make sure you do not last long on that throne" she stood straight after saying that and smiled again before walking away.
Arora stared at her for a little while and she knew what Kona was thinking. That she was not the true daughter to her father. Well, she isn't sure if it herself.
" Queen Arora.....". a man called out to her from behind and she turned briskly.
" greetings, godfather". She bowed with courtesy and the man let out a smile.
" This is going to be the beginning of your life, dear" Marcus said as he walked closer to her and hugged her.
Marcus was her father's best friend and her godfather. He had always been there for her and acted like a second father. He was the one who taught her how to ride a bike and archery. And her fighting skills, she learnt that from him also!
" yes, godfather" . Arora hugged his arm and rested her head on his shoulder with a wide smile on her
" I'm blessed to have you here with me".she looked at his face again before putting her head back on his shoulder.
" do you remember when you were little, you always had me do piggy back for you...." Marcus chuckled and continued." but now, you have grown so much that you are now the queen of this land. I'm very proud of you, my dear".
" don't worry, I'll always be here for you" she hugged his arm more tightly.
Marcus raised his other hand and gently stroked her hair. He looked intensely into the thin air as though he was reminiscing something.
" you can't be with me forever, I'll....." Marcus was about to speak when Arora butt in.
" don't say that. it's not true!". she let go of his hand and stood before him. Her eyes were bold and confident. Marcus had been with her since the day she ever existed and now, it was going to be her own turn to take care of him the same way he did for her. And she must do it.
She was about to speak again when
Marcus let out a low chuckle as he raised his left arm to cup Arora's cheek.
" It's true, dear. I'll surely leave this world one day even if I'm an immortal. I have to die one day". Marcus spoke with so much certainty and Arora shook her head negatively.
" As far as I'm here with you, I'll never let you leave me behind". Arora protested.
" but you've got your father here with you. so .....". Marcus trailed on as Arora chipped in without warning.
" my life is complete with the both of you here. I don't want any one of you to leave me here in this wicked world". Arora let out a faint sigh and she dropped her gaze with a twinge of disappointment in her eyes and Marcus could see it clearly. The wicked world she referred to was her very own step mother and sister. They were a pain in the neck and she couldn't imagine what would happen to her if she's left alone without any of her family.
" No one is going anywhere.". a masculine but familiar voice said to her and the duo turned their heads towards the direction which the voice came from.
" Papa....". She let go of Marcus and ran to hug her father. Her arms flew to his neck and she jumped on him strongly with her face buried in the crook of his neck.
" whoah!". Naran exclaimed as he almost lost balance, but he retained himself so he won't fall back. He held her and hugged her back with the same intensity she used on him.
The sight was worthy to behold as Marcus stared at the two with so much love visible in his eyes.
A wide smile appeared on his lips and he sighed.
A vivid memory of him giving his daughter a kiss flashed in his mind and a sour smirk shew on his lips. How much he misses her.
"You two reminds me of my moments with Amelia". Marcus said and laughed.
The two darted their heads to stare at Marcus and they stride to him.
The scenery was enveloped in a long deafening silence as Arora and Naran stared at Marcus with pity. He changed a bit after the death of his only child and they could tell how much he misses her.
Marcus got aware of the gazes that the two put on his body and he knew it was pity.
" No need to pity me. I'm okay as long as I have the both of you here with me". Marcus nudged Naran and began laughing awkwardly. The two knew what he was trying to pull off; he was trying to show to them that he was okay which they know he was not. They only stared at him with drawn lower lips.
When he saw that they were not laughing like he was, he stopped. He wouldn't want to look like the insane one among the sane.
" I have an idea for tonight..". Arora said breaking the awkward silence that stayed between them again, clicking on her finger tips. Her gesture seemed like she remembered what she had forgotten.
They turned their heads to her with brows raised.
" why don't we go to the city tonight and have fun time together, hun?". Arora suggested as she rocked her head back and forth to the old men standing on the same ground with her.
" The things you do in the past should be changed. You can not go anywhere.". Naran turned her suggestion down .
" Papa.... why not?" She asked as she held his arm. She creased her brows and pouted get lips. Even if she was just crowned the queen , that did not mean she wasn't her Papa's baby.
Naran let out a low chuckle and caressed her cheek with his right thumb as he spoke with gentility filled in his tone, " you're now the queen of this land ,my dear. And remember, no one must see you like this". he was referring to the lines between her brows and her pouted red lips. " They might think their queen is quite an immature and spoilt one". He added with a warm smile but Arora was not ready do any of his pleasant words. She let go of his hand. She stared at her godfather for a while, he didn't even speak a word for her. He only SHRUGGED his shoulders.
" I'm sleepy. I'm off to my room". She said before leaving the men.
