Chereads / My Not So Simple Life, After Being Reborn / Chapter 6 - It's Silver, Not Copper!

Chapter 6 - It's Silver, Not Copper!

At night, Ron grabbed all the pocket money he had hidden so far. He also remembered finding money hidden in the house, in his previous life; it was most likely money his father had hidden from his mother or maybe the other way. Regardless, Ron decided to steal it as well, because it was not a large sum that would affect the family and he desperately needed the money right now!

After Ron justified himself and collected all the money, he decided to go on a shopping spree. He immediately used his old computer and bought quite a few things using his dad's ID. He made sure to leave delivery instructions to drop it off at the edge of their yard.

The delivery arrived at night, and Ron went to collect them. To avoid suspicion from the deliveryman, he stated that his father would arrive in a few minutes and handed him the money.

Once he made sure no one was around, he swiftly put all the things in his storage and went back home.

"Phew, I need to think of some solutions. Otherwise, it will become difficult to procure things in this 12-year-old body.

Ron looked at the clock; it's 10:50 p.m. So much has happened in a single day in the real world, but he spent years in the blue realm. He took a deep breath.

"System, I'd like to travel back to the blue realm."

Ding!

[Confirmed!]

Ron opened his eyes only to find himself inside a room that looked a bit familiar to him. It was the overseer's home!

He felt that time had not moved on much since his last visit, and, afraid of being caught as a murderer, he slowly tried to get out of there. When he was about to exit through the door, he heard someone's footsteps.

"Who's there?"

"Hello, is overseer Lie here?"

Ron lied through his teeth to escape the situation. He saw a middle-aged women come out of the kitchen.

"Lie? Isn't that the old owner of this home? He died a few years ago, and I bought this house. You didn't hear about his death?"

"Oh, I didn't know that. I was out of town for a few years and have just returned. Sorry for the intrusion, I'll go away right now."

With that, Ron escaped without looking back. The middle-aged woman was taken aback by Ron's quick departure; it was as if his legs had springs.

"It looks like a few years have passed in the blue realm since my last visit"

Ron wanted to go back to his village, but he knew, with the old man dead, there was no one waiting for him in that village. He sighed and decided to visit Agnum, the nearest city to him.

But there's one problem—he doesn't have any money on him! He is currently in Xia County, an island county of the Avalon Empire; to visit Agnum, he would have to cross a small part of the ocean.

He knew that he couldn't travel by himself and he definitely needs some capital as well for his stay and expenses, so he reluctantly went back into the town, straight to the market where many street peddlers sell their goods.

He sat down, placing a cloth he had found randomly in front of him. He took out some of the items from his inventory and placed them neatly on the cloth. There were a lot of curious gazes, as no one was able to identify the items he took out.

"Hey buddy, what are these items?"

A young man with a silver robe arrived at his location and curiously looked at the items; the reason he initially arrived here was because of the unique buns he saw, which were smelling too delicious.

He saw something that looked similar to a scroll or saber handle, then bent down to pick it up. He looked at it from all angles but didn't get it. Just as he was about to strike it against a rock, Ron stopped him and snatched it from his hands.

"This is a solar torch, and you don't strike it against a rock!"

Ron turned on the torch to show him. The young man was mesmerized; he took it again from Ron's hand and turned it off and on.

"This thing can help you see things without a lamp or fire at night, and you only need to place it in sunlight for it to recharge."

"How much?"

The young man looked at Ron with a determined look.

"Twenty"

"That's daylight robbery! Although it's a pretty useful thing, that's way too much. I can only give you 5, You take it or leave it."

"15"

"8"

"12"

"10, and you pack these buns with it as well!"

Ron sighed and agreed. He felt that the items he thought were valuable were not worth that much at all!

The young man opened his pouch and took out 10 silver coins and placed them in Ron's hand, then took the torch and buns, then walked away with a smirk. He felt that he made a killer deal, and just when he took a bite, he felt like he was chewing on clouds! The buns were so soft and sweet, along with the filling in between—that's just heavenly! He looked at his empty hands and felt sad; he immediately ran back to Ron.

"Hey buddy, why don't you sell me all your buns? I'll give you 2 coins for it….Hey kid, are you listening at all? ... If two coins are not enough, then I'll give you three. That's all I can give you, okay. Don't be too greedy now"

He waved his hands at Ron, who had his eyes and mouth wide open.

That's 10 silver coins! not copper coins!
