Chapter 10 - Selling an Earmuff?

I can't take it any longer! What does he think this place is? Does it look like a place that accepts any kind of trash?

The assistant wanted to jump on Ron and curse him, but held himself back. He gritted his teeth,

"Sir, the store only accepts items that are at least low-grade artifacts. Please don't waste our time."

"Oh, I'm not sure if my items can be considered low-grade artifacts; can you check these?"

Ron pulled a few items out of thin air and showcased them to the assistant.

Spatial pouch! The assistant immediately regretted his previous words. Anyone who can afford spatial tools is definitely capable of using them.

"I'm sorry, sir; please accept my apologies. My name is Vox; you can call me Assistant Vox. I'll immediately go and request the store manager appraise these items; would you please follow me into the guest room?"

Assistant Vox bowed to Ron and apologized; he showed him to the guest room and left to get the manager. Ron knew that cultivators in the blue realm have spatial tools that allow them to store any number of items in them.

After a while, a young girl in her 20s arrived in the room. She had a fiery appearance and would definitely be considered a celebrity if she were on earth.

"Hello mister, My name is Emma Smith, and I am the manager of Agnum City's Heavenly Treasure Hall. I heard that you have some items that need to be appraised; can you allow me to see them?"

Ron took out a few items from his system storage and placed them on the table.

At first, Emma was indifferent, but soon she was filled with confusion and then curiosity.

"Sorry, sir, this is the first time I'm seeing these kinds of items. Would you be able to display what they are?"

Ron nodded. There's no way that someone from the blue realm can recognize these items, and that's his advantage!

"This is called a night vision binocular; it lets you see in the dark. Not only that, but you can see things up to a kilometer away with no problem. Although you can see further, the clarity of your vision decreases."

"This is a binocular; it's similar to the other item, but this one does not have the ability to see in the dark. But the true use of this lies in the range. Using this binocular, you will be able to see anything with clarity within a range of 8 kilometers."

"This is a military grade ear muff. The purpose of this is very simple; it blocks any and all sounds when you wear it."

"This is a...…"

Ron explained about a few more items, while Emma and Assistant Vox were stunned on the spot. Almost all the items that Ron has shown are novel items that haven't been seen or heard about anywhere. Although for cultivators some of these might not be of much use, in the right hands they can be deadly.

"Mister Ron, with your permission, can I try out these items?"

Despite Ron's explanation, Emma is still skeptical of the items. She was not able to sense any spiritual energy from these items, yet the description Ron gave matches that of low-grade artifacts. She has to make sure everything is correct.

Ron agreed to it, and Emma pointed towards the night vision goggles. He went ahead and gave her instructions on how to use it. Emma requested that the assistant turn off all of the light crystals in the room; she also secretly requested that he stay close to Ron so that he doesn't cause any trouble if given the chance.

Once the light was turned off, Emma was able to clearly see everything in the room. It was a completely different experience for her. She strapped it to her head and started to walk around the room. She felt like a toy had landed in her hands and kept experimenting with the distance, zoom, etc.

"mm, miss? Have you double-checked it?"

Hearing the assistant's voice, Emma was suddenly embarrassed; she lost track of time and forgot about them. She went ahead and turned on the lights.

"Ahem, yes, I can confirm that this works as described by mister Ron. I'll test the other items as well.

Emma took her time to check all the items; she was mesmerized by them so much that, if possible, she wanted to keep them all for herself.

"Mister Ron, how would you like to handle these items? Are you planning to sell them or auction them? The only items that can be added to the auction if you want to auction them are the night vision binoculars and the military-grade ear-muffs"

Ron was aware that the night vision binoculars could be auctioned off, but the ear-muffs caught him off guard.

"If you don't mind explaining, can you let me know why the ear-muff is allowed for the auction?"

"Sure, you might know that for any cultivator, there are some cultivation techniques that require absolute calmness, as well as the fact that during the period when one is trying to break through a cultivation barrier, they need to make sure that outside disturbance won't cause them any effect. In both cases, the earplugs are a valuable tool. That's the reason it's allowed into the auction"

It was news to Ron.

"So, how would you like to proceed with the items? Would you like to sell them directly to us or auction them?"

"I would like to auction the two items and sell the rest to you."

"Great! After calculating, all the items are worth 110 gold, but as the items are novel and have never been seen before, I'd like to add 10 more gold to make it 120. As for the other two, you will be able to see them in tonight's auction. Does that sound good for you?"

"Yes, thank you."

I never imagined that I'd be able to earn so much gold with just a few items! That's 120 dollars! I still have some food, books, and other miscellaneous items in storage, but I don't think I have anything else left to sell. This should be everything for this trip to the blue realm.

Emma also offered a private room for the auction to Ron; it was a privilege she gave to him as she liked the items he brought. Who knows, maybe he will come again with some more of these bizarre items.

Vox assisted Ron to the private auction room number 14. The auction started after a while, as the auction house filled up.
