"Trisha please step out for a minute!", Paula suddenly said amidst the intense atmosphere in the living room.
After making eye contact several times with the parties involved. Trisha convinced herself to leave, as whether she wanted it or not, they were both adults who needed to engage in much needed dialogue.
"Why haven't you told me all this time?!", Trisha heard her mother ask Dave as she walked out of the living room, her tone calmer than when she had earlier seen her husband.
"Why did you make me feel like a fool, after all these years Dave, after the life we've built together?!", Paula probed on, hating the fact that Dave wasn't saying anything.
The man in question was more than conflicted, was he to tell her he was after all the property she procured from her late husband,or was he to lie to her like he had mostly done through out the marriage
"I don't know what you want me to say Paula, I'm a man and I have my desires!", Dave said, the best possible excuse he could use to drawl the situation.
"Desires?!"
"Desires Dave?!", For some reason, the statement seemed to be funny to Paula.
The sight of her laughing despite her bloodshot eyes seemed weird to Dave, he obviously wanted to be anywhere but there.
"How could a man in his mid years probably be looking for desires?? Aren't you supposed to be pressuring your daughters to settle down and get married. YOU SCUM OF A MAN!!", that last sentence had her tone rise up a notch.
"Fine, call me whatever you want, but I definitely won't stop! I really wouldn't! I've ran the divorce through my lawyer. It's probably best we split up!" Dave said, completely taking Paula by surprise.
Paula'a eyes crinkled into slits, her throat releasing an agonizing laughter. It dawned on her, "he doesn't actually love me!".
Maybe they had both misinterpreted comfort for love this whole time!
"You didn't even think of fixing this…!", Paula drawled as silent tears cascaded down her cheeks, She had handed him her injured heart, yet this was all she got!.
"And you jumped straight to a divorce. I must have been blind the whole time!".
With the conversation they just had,it was clear that Dave had already wanted the divorce even before he came to the house…
Which only meant he was here to pack his things.
"Did you even plan to have this conversation with me?", Paula suddenly asked, stirring the heavy atmosphere that had come to build.
After about ten minutes of his silence, Paula found the answer she was looking for.
"Contact my lawyer for further discussions!", Paula said, packing the blankets she had used to sleep earlier and heading upstairs towards her room.
Dave was more than happy with the outcome of the conversation, he didn't plan that she would readily agree to the divorce, his wife or ex wife to be could be clingy at times.
He smiled to himself as he headed to his room to pack the few things he would need, after all he would need to book a flight soon.
The dirty games this man thought he could win, how delusional!!

Back in the exceptionally furnished lake house, Adriana was wondering what could cause such a sharp gasp from everyone around.
In her defense, she was just pointing out now rude the person in particular was.
It must have been a lucky day as the person who Adriana bumped into was no other than Austin himself.
"Oh my God, Austin are you okay?!", Miranda asked, suddenly making an appearance beside Austin, like most people in the room( especially people trying to get in his good graces)
Adriana wasn't so sure she was comfortable about what just happened and the name that was suddenly called out. Austin!!!
Well, the amount of attention he got only meant one thing, he was Austin Meyers.
Oh she was so doomed!
