After talking for a while Sapphire and I got to know each other better. She's a wandering mercenary who used to hold the rank of a Dame, and at the moment she's just taking any job she can get her hands on. She's also apparently a half-vampire, which kind of surprised me considering she doesn't have any of their normal features.
As for me, I told her a slight cover-up story: that I was the son of a baron who got kicked out of his home and was now just wandering looking for a place to stay and a job. Though I'm not even an adventurer, I'm actually the son of the count of this territory. But she doesn't need to know that.
"So you're the removed son of a baron huh? Well, I couldn't have even guessed, besides you look more like an assassin than anything." Sapphire said jokingly.
"Haha, I guess I kind of do…" I replied with nervousness.
'Well, I was kind of trying to look like a commoner'
"It sucks how you got kicked out of your household though, I mean what did you even do?" She said with sympathy.
"It's kind of personal…"
'Please tell me she's not suspicious of me! I just want to drink in peace!'
"I see…Well, let's not dwell on the past anymore! This is a chance for you to start anew, you can practically do anything you want now!" Sapphire said with a smile on her face and standing up.
"...You know what, your right! Let's not dwell on the past anymore, this is a chance to correct my wrongs!" I said with a smile and some blush on my face.
'She has a point, I shouldn't dwell on the things in the past! I have a new life now with totally different people, I should make the most of it!'
"Exactly, Be the new you! Don't let anyone push you around and tell you what to be, do what you want to do and make your own decisions!"
"Yeah! That's what I'll do, with no one in my way!"
"That's the spirit! You know what everyone, Drinks are on me!" Sapphire shouted.
"YEAAHHHH!" everyone in the tavern shouted.
After that, I decided that I was going to make the most of the transmigration and try my best not to die. But of course, there are things I need to do first, like staying away from the Protagonist and any big bosses. Then I can retire, and do what I want to do!

After drinking for a while I decided to go back to the room to get some rest. When I got to the room Victor was standing there looking pissed off and annoyed. While tapping his foot on the floor he said…
"Young Master, don't you think you're a bit late?" He said closing his eyes and his eyebrow twitching.
"Late? I'm not late, I mean I was still in the same building."
"Haaaa, and your drunk. Come along and go into the bath, I'll wash your back for you." He said opening his eyes again and turning away.
"I'm not drunk, I'm tipsy. If I was drunk I would have hit my shoulder on the door frame." I said putting a finger up.
"Yes, yes whatever you say, My Lord." He replied.
***
Stepping into the shower I felt more sober, and relaxed. After that, I then went over to the bath, where Victor then came in and started washing my back.
"Hey Victor"
"Yes, My Lord?"
"When I'm around you and other people how do I act with them, versus how I act when you around?"
"I'm sorry but I don't think I quite understand, could you please elaborate on that for me My Lord?" Victor responded sarcasticly looking quite puzzled.
'Well I guess he would be confused with that after all the original Lev never asked him anything like that.'
According to Lev's memories, they had known each other since Lev was 20. And at the moment he was 230, so they've known each other for a very long time. In that case, why would Victor not be confused by that?
'Wait…If they've known each other for that long then what the hell is Victor!?'
"W-Well I guess what I mean is, I act so friendly and close with you that it kind of led me to ask how you think I act around other people," I explained with haste.
"I see…Well, I guess you do act differently with other people. I've never really paid attention though, but you did act more nicer to Mr. Koa and Keenan than you normally do." He replied.
"Then how do I normally act and speak with other people?"
"Actually most of the time you're more distant and cold, especially to Lord and Lady Griffins. But you're also more subtle to Young Miss Alice and the twins, and quite mischievous around the other servants."
"And around other nobles? How do I act with them, that is if I do attend parties and such." I asked with my head slightly tilted.
"It's actually very rare for you to attend parties and luncheons, but when you do you usually try to keep more of a distant, and calm act. Though of course if someone you really don't want to talk to goes up to you the most I see is you giving the "Screw off" kind of look. Victor said putting some thought into his answer.
"Do I really?!"
"Yes you do, and quite often at that. In fact, while we were talking to Ray, I noticed that your eyebrow started twitching." He sighed
'I mean the dude was kind of annoying, and he did tick me off earlier this morning.'
"If I was then I was probably a reflex of my muscles…" I said as an excuse.
"Well if you say it was, anyway I'm done here you can soak a bit more longer if you want."
'Besides it's weird that he's asking these questions, but he is drunk.' Victor thought.
"No, I think I'd rather just go to bed," I said getting up and putting a robe on while also getting a towel to dry my hair with.
"Then i'll go get you a pair of pajamas. Do you want some sleeping medicine tonight?" Victor responded.
"Sleeping pills…No i'm ok, i think i've been getting better" I said putting a fake smile on my face.
One of the other memories i had gotten was that, the original Lev had insomnia. Unfortunaely though, i couldn't see the reasons in his memory clearly. There was alot of memories i wasn't able to make out, like there was someone who didn't want me to see them. But i'll save that for a different time.
"Are you sure, the last time you said that you woke me up with tears in your eyes." Victor interjected, bringing me out of my train of thought.
"Stop! Stop! That was a bit embarrassing…but i'm sure i'll be fine!" i yelled with my face turning red and waving my arms.
'Damn it why did he make me think of that embarrassing memory.'
"Well if you say so"

After i had gotten in my pajamas, and Victor had fallen asleep I went to the desk at my side of the room and pulled out a journal and fountain pen out of one of the bags. While we were out with Avery, we had stopped at a stationary shop, where I had gotten myself these things as well as a map of the continent.
I decided to start writing down things that happen each day in the journal, as well as plans and such.
'I suppose I should probably start writing the memories I got when I woke up, as well as the Griffins family and servants of the County.'

Meanwhile, back at the Griffins main estate…
"Ray please explain to me why you came back with a small child" Ezra ordered.
"Well My Lord, Young Master Lev said that he was going to take her in, so he ordered me to take her back to the mansion" Ray explained
"I see…Miss Avery what did you say your surname was?"
"It's Scott, your grace." She responded shyly
"Scott huh…If my memory serves me correct, another noble has a last name of Scott right?" Ezra questioned
"Yes, it's Baron Scott. Their a small country barony, who is well known for their magic talent." Albert said.
"Oh, but the young girl I see in front of me is a half elf. I thought elves couldn't do magic at all, and that they could only use runes, half-breed or not." Ezra is said looking Avery up and down.
"You are right, but I can use runes! I'm sure to make myself useful if you let me stay here! Plus I want to be able to pay back Young Master Lev…" Avery said with determination.
"... Alright I'll let you stay, but on one condition."
Avery then looked up at Ezra with bright eyes.
"I want to to help teach Alice runestry." Penelope demanded.
Runestry was art made out of the leylines on Runes. Very few knew of this technique, considering it was something of great knowledge. Only the most exceptional and strongest runests knew at least a little bit of the technique.
"Penelope, I thought you were out in the garden with the twins." Ezra exclaimed.
"Well I was, until I heard we got a guest invited by Lev."
"Hello Lady Penelope, I am Avery Scott, a runest and orphan." Avery explained as she curtsied.
"It's very nice to meet you Miss. Scott, I can tell that your a runest of exceptional talent." Penelope replied.
"I don't know about that…I'm actually just learning runestry myself, so I'm not sure I would be that great of a teacher." Avery said nervously.
"Ho, and why would you think that? I can tell by the way you carry yourself and your aura, that you are someone almost of the highest grade."
"Does it really seem that way? I mean I am quite confident in my current abilities but I wouldn't say that I'm someone of the highest grade…"
"Please Miss. Avery, were both half-breeds of the Elven race. I'm almost positive in my assessment." Penelope assured.
Penelope then but both of her hands on Avery's shoulders and smiled at her, Avery then looked up and smiled back with a worrying look.
"Well If my wife agrees to it then it shall be, Ray I want you and Marie to prepare a room for The Young Miss! I look forward to our future encounters Miss. Avery, please don't make me regret my decision." Ezra said as he got up and whispered the last part in her ear.

Bang..Bang!
"Ughhhh, Ray I swear if you making those noises just to wake me up…" Lev said tiredly.
"My Lord, Ray's not here, And it's not anyone in side making those noises." Victor responded.
"..."
I got up out of bed and opened the curtains.
'Holy shit I forgot about that.'
Outside there was people running and screaming, as well as stalls and buildings being lit on fire.
"Victor get me my spear, and grab your sword, The cities being attacked."
"Understood" Victor said as he opened the closet on his side and grabbed the weapons.
"Huh, ok then less cool than I expected…" I said
We then ran downstairs and left the inn, outside it was almost sunrise. After running down the street, there was less people.
"My Lord please tell my eyes do not decive me." Victor said grabbing my arm.
"Not there not, but I honestly wish they were."
What we saw, was that the demons had arrived.
