Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 - Never Trust a God! (2)

After I had heard the man's name I started to remember some things from Lev's memory as well as from the research I had done.

"Your…The god of Order right?" I questioned with nervousness.

"Well, aren't you the smart one? I am indeed the God of not only order but time as well." Hunapo conformed.

I then paused for a second to try and collect my thoughts, 'What the hell would he want with me?'

"Pardon me for asking, but why did you call me here, and for what purpose?" I asked.

"Well…" He then conjured up a table and sat at its seats, "Why don't you take a seat first?

"Haaaaa, then will you tell me what it is that you want?"

"Of course," He then extended his hand to the chair in front of me and I sat down with caution, "Shall we get down to business then?"

I gulped with nervousness, I had no idea what this God wanted, or what his purpose was for bringing me into this world. But there was one thing I did know, and that was to try to get on his good side, especially if I wanted to return alive.

"Soooo, you wanted to know the reason I brought your soul into this world, right?" He recalled

"Yes…"

"Then it would be most polite for me to tell you I suppose, alrighty then please make yourself comfy this may take a while."

'This will take awhile? Geez is he gonna tell me this world's history or something.'

"Ahem, so I guess I should start with the reason. Before you came to this world Atlas, or who you know as the Protagonist of 'How to Slay Demons Without Dying' had died." Hunapo said.

"Wait, doesn't he kill the Demon King and then live happily ever after with his friends and party members?" I stated it was quite a shock for me to hear that.

"Originally that was supposed to be how he lived, but some creature decided to defy the strings of fate. Essentially resulting in us Gods making the decision to reset the world and the other realms connected to it, but there was a slight problem…" He trailed off.

"...I was that problem wasn't I?"

"...Not exactly, you see the original Lev has a curse of immortality placed not only on his body but in his soul as well. And after Atlas had killed him originally his soul was stuck in this sort of drifting state…So essentially when we reset the world That caused Lev's soul to go back to his body with all of his memories intact." Hunapo explained.

"W-Well he isn't still here right?" I asked nervously.

"..." Hunapo stayed silent and turned his gaze with a look of guilt.

"...Holy Shit, He's still in here! Why did you put me in this body if he was still here!?" I shouted and stood up.

"We had no choice! Lev Ambrose is dangerous, so we needed you to keep him away for now. Lev is currently in a state of slumber, and before we had a proper solution he was about to wake up! So we quickly looked for a soul to put in the body for the time being…And thats when we came across you," Hunapo paused.

"What do you mean Lev Ambrose is dangerous? And what's so special about me? I'm just some guy in his late 30s who was a part of the military until he was killed…" I paused, "Wait, it's because of that isn't it? Because I was already dead and I had information on this world," I stated.

"Yes, that is exactly why. Plus you filled in all of the checkmarks, you are smart, a quick thinker, an excellent commander, and a good strategist. And your soul was strong enough to put him back to sleep," Hunapo explained.

"Ok, but I still don't understand what would make him so dangerous that you'd have to put me in this body."

"Haaaa, I guess I need to explain that as well…You see, Lev was the son of the God of Dreams Alvah, and he was also cursed by him. Alvah's curses are known to be some of the strongest, and very harsh. Essentially, Lev was capable of destroying his entire religion which resulted in him having multiple curses being placed on him."

"...Damn, ok, thats a lot to take in…" I paused, "So what are those curses exactly?"

"Hmm, well all I can tell you at the moment is that your body is immortal. But the other curses aren't that serious, it's just that one of them gives you tormenting nightmares sometimes…" He trailed off.

"OHHHHH, so thats why he had insomnia. You know I'd probably wanna kill a bitch too if they cursed me with that." I joked.

"Yeah, thats fair. But anyways we are unfortunately almost out of time, so I'd like to help you with one more thing," Hunapo said.

"If that's the case I'd like to know the location of Fatin Henry."

"His location? Well of course I can tell you that! Fatin is one of my favorite children, so I'd be happy if he had more friends." Hunapo then started talking about Him, "But anyways, there is a hidden exit in the cave you were in, go through there and you'll come across a little pond. Fatin is currently there gathering herbs and collecting a few fungi, walk right up to him and he'll know right away what you need him for," He said with a sneaky smile on his face.

"Ok, thank you. And am I still going to get the Divine power, and do I need to do the test?" I asked with concern.

"You should still get the ability after you've spoken to me, but I'm not sure whether the test will still activate or not…" He said a look of mischievousness and wonder on his face.

"..." I was gawking at him.

"Welp times run out! Wait, one more thing, soon a temple dedicated to me will be built in your city! When it is finished I ask that you please go and visit, my holy maiden will be there, and I ask that after you talk to her you then come and speak to me,"

"Alright…thank you for the information, I guess."

"Of course, anytime. Now you need to go, till the next time." He then waved and light engulfed my body again.

***

The next thing I knew I was back in the cave, with the bones that used to be sprawled on the floor were now back together and about to attack me.

'That scammer god!'

I quickly dogged the two skeletons singing their rusted sword at me, after that, I then turned around and went into the water. There were more skeletons there, one of them had brass knuckles on and a vest, that skeleton then tried to hit me. I grabbed it by the wrist and flipped it onto its back, two more came at me and I did a summersault betwine to two of them.

I then quickly looked around to try and find the exit that Hunapo was talking about, it was at the left side of the cavern hidden behind some stalagmites.

'You know, now would be the perfect time to figure out out to use this ability.'

I then dogged the rest of the skeletons charging at me and got to a place in the cavern that had the most space. The rest of the skeletons then turned around to look at me, as they did that I imagined using the divine power and snapped my fingers on my right hand.

Just then, holes in the ground suddenly appeared and swallowed all of the skeletons, not leaving a single one behind. After it had finished, the holes then covered themselves up. I was left with my mouth wide open gawking, I was greatly surprised.

"Holy Shit, thats really overpowered," I exclaimed.

I then reminded myself to get my shit together and leave the cavern. After I made sure I had everything I had before he talked to that God I went through the exit.

***

The walk through the exit was pretty short and very nice and peaceful. The exit was a hallway that wasn't too long, it had lots of purple hanging flowers and moss. I honestly wished it was longer considering how nice it was, and it helped me get my thoughts together, considering the load of information I was just given.

When I wreaked the end it was open air, and in the middle, there were practically no trees other than the ones encircling the area. The pond in the middle had crystal clear water in it with different herbs and flowers, and there were also different colored fish swimming in the pond.

The only word that seemed to describe it was beautiful, I was truly in awe.

After I was done starring I decided to look around the area for Fatin, eventually, I found an Elf sitting on rock grinding herbs into powder. "Um, Hello?"

"Huh?" The elf then turned around with a surprised look on his face, "Oh! You're finally here, sorry I didn't come to greet you I was busy."

The elf had Auburn hair with cream-colored bangs, which reminded me of Hunapo. His eyes were green and I noticed a purple ring around his pupils, he was wearing narrow gold-rimmed glasses that had a chain connecting around his neck, in the front there were hanging chains with tree charms on them. He was wearing a white suit with a green robe over top of it, the suit was essentially just the pants, shirt, and vest. The robe had an outline of gold around the part where the stitches would be for the end seams, and it had four tails, two in the back and two on the sides of his legs. The ends of the tails had crosses, and he was wearing two stoles that were sewn on the middle of his shoulders. The stoles had trees on them, there were also ribbons coming out from underneath the stoles that wrapped around his arm to his back. He was wearing boots that also had gold circling the hole part, noticed he was also wearing white gloves, and his sleeves were cupped.

"Your Fatin, right?" I asked.

"Indeed, and your Saito Anzhong, or I guess Lev Varuna now," Fatin responded while getting off the rock he was on top of.

"Yes, I-"

"You wanted to know the location of another divine power and…there wasn't something else and it was on the tip of my tongue," Fatin cut me off.

"How did you know that?" I asked.

"Haha, I work for the world tree silly, which essentially means I get information from them," Fatin explained with a shy smile.

"...I…Forgot about that," I said with an embarrassed look on my face.

"Hahaha, it's just fine, plus it's something regular people don't know about anyway. you're special in that way, so I won't get mad at you for forgetting that." He laughed with humility.

"Oh stop making fun of me! And you look like that asshole of a god which makes it worse!" I yelled.

"You…Think I look like Hunapo?" Fatin asked tilting his head to the side.

"Well yeah, I mean you have the same hair colors and facial features. Which is kinda a little weird and creepy." I trailed off, "Wait your not his secret love child are you?!"

"Pfft- HAHAHAHA, No I'm not his secret love child! Though I am technically his kid, but not in the way you're thinking," He continued to laugh heartily.

'This guy sure is gullible, and kind of innocent.'

"Ah, man I haven't had a good laugh like that in ages! You really are something, you know that," Fatin teased.

"Stop patting me on the head! I'm not short, you're just really tall!"

"...Are you…insecure about you're height?" he asked.

"...God I wanna crawl in a hole and die now…"

I just want to make it clear that Fatin thinks of Lev in a more familial way, so he is not a l

ove interest. Sorry to those of you who hoped.

Also I'll explain in a future chapter maybe on what Fatin meant by technically being Hunapo's kid.
