The conference room was filled up as different officers sat at both sides of the long table, documents on their desks. The director sat at the upper edge, facing his colleagues. The room contained so many documentaries - folders and files heaped up. The American flag was at the edge of the room and the FBI symbol slightly above it.
The tension in the room was high, as each officers deliberated on the case at hand. They were devising a means to solve the recent homicide occurrence.
" We can't let them investigate this murder...the team was just appointed a 6 months ago" one of the officials pointed out. Others nodded in agreement .
" Shouldn't we give them a chance? This could be their best case ever." Another explained. Still some concurred.
" I think team 2 should handle the investigation"
" You don't expect them to perform two works at once..they already have a case at hand" sir Charles, the head of the investigation department reminded him.
" Let Sampson and his team take care of It. It's not like they haven't handled a murder case before" sir Charles continued.
" Only as backups, officer Charles" another officer reminded him.
" That's the main reason we should give them a chance...to handle their first real case." He explained again. " They are competent"
The director cleared his throat. All these while, he had been silent - only listening and observing.
" Call team 3 in then. They should handle the investigation" he ordered.
After a while, Sampson and his team of 3 men arrived.
Sampson was tall, like very tall and had a nice side cut on his head. He looked older than his actual age and had a light skin tanned from the sun rays. He cared about his looks more and preferred promotion to friends.
Nike was part of his team. He had broad shoulders, and wore a slightly jumped up trousers. He wasn't tall but had an average height. People normally called him mustache face because his mustaches were weird and strangely long. He refused to shave.
Mario was the older one. He was fat and had a pot belly. His protruded stomach normally forced itself out of his shirts and so a little bit of his lower abdomen was usually seen. He didn't mind and cared less about his looks. He had a bald head too and was not handsome.
John was the youngest of them. He was undoubtedly handsome and caring too. He had dimples when he smiled and Mario called him 'shortcave' since he normally put on concave glasses. He had myopia and couldn't see things that were near.
" We've decided that your team should handle the case at Las Vegas last night. You're aware of investigation rules, I'm certain I need not brief you on that. " Director Kane explained.
" We promise to put in our very best in this case. " Sampson,t the team leader saluted.
" Remember, the faster the issues is resolved, the safer the people" Charles said. And his colleagues nodded in agreement.
" If this goes well, your team would be ... considered for a promotion" Director Kane offered, not looking at their faces.
Sampson was happy. Finally, he'd get a promotion if the case was solved. This was his first real case and he hoped to resolve the issue. A promotion was all he had dreamt of as an officer.

The crime scene was scary. The whole area was restricted with yellow barricades. It was good they arrived when the paparazzi were gone and the security department of the FBI made sure to secure the scene.
Looking at the dead body, he felt like throwing up. It wasn't his first time of seeing blood but his stomach always disappointed him. His nose was very sensitive to strong odour.
They put on their dealmed nitrile gloves and face masks. John held out a camera.
His eyes roamed around the room searching for evidence. He picked up an identity card - it belong to Marie. He carefully tusked it into an evidence bag. It could be scanned for finger prints.
John took photos of the scene while Nike wrote down observations. Marie's hair was scattered and her clothes looked rough and rumpled. " They must have gotten into a fight" he concluded. Sampson nodded in agreement as he observed the scattered make up equipments on the floor.
Soon he discovered the missing finger. " Look out for the ring. This could be a case of an arm robber who wanted to steal but ended up killing"
His colleagues searched around for the ring and Mario found it. It was tusked neatly on her breast pocket. " Maybe the killer's motive wasn't robbery. There's more to this case..."
" Let's veiw the CCTV footage" Sampson said leaving the scene.
