YEAR: 17TH FEBRUA 1199, IN MERIDITH'S CALENDAR.
Finally, the day comes when the four hands will be bound together forever.
All the people of Meridith had come to see the wedding of their king and future queen. King Tartelon stood there wearing his kingdom's formal suit, waiting for his bride. The long-awaited love of his life. His bright blue blazer embroidered with gold hung on his broad chest. The combination of white and blue for this wedding was epic as always.
He has always been known as the most eligible bachelor in the kingdom, for whom most girls swoon because of his perfectly chiselled jaw and smooth glowing skin. But he only had eyes for Madelyn. But there was one girl who loved him too. Princess Lily of Angbotain.
Mother Empress Soraya, was also invited to the wedding. The gown she wore was decorated with gold and green, matching perfectly with her golden locks and the shining, brilliant 'Crown of Asta'. Along with her came the dragon witch Cyria. She was one of the oldest witches living on the planet, who could foresee the future and was also a close friend of Soraya. In fact, it has been her only companion for years so far.
Soraya's life was bound up in the responsibilities of Meridith. Her duty must last until another worthy of the throne is born.
As she walked in, she felt a bit lost in her mind as she watched the altar in sadness. There was something in her heart that saddened her. Something that was only to be kept within her.
"Your majesty?" Cyria called looking at her friend who was lost in her thoughts.
"Y-yes Cyria!" She finally replied, regaining her attention.
"Are you fine, your majesty?" She asked in concern.
"Ah yes, certainly I am. I was lost in a moment for some time, but that is past now. Let's not dwell on those regretful thoughts. We are here to celebrate a wedding. Let us have a good time in Cyria?" She smiled through her pain.
But Cyria sensed something unusual from there and wanted to take a closer look, so she asked permission to leave before entering the hall. Empress Soraya walked in alone.
Finally, after some time, as the bell rang, the door opened, giving a glimpse of the bride in her beautifully stitched white gown. The gown was originally handmade of silk decorated with tiny blue flowers, giving it a beautiful appearance.
All heads were turned towards the bride who stood there keeping her head low with a bouquet in her hands.
This was it. This was the time for what Tartelon had dreamed of for years. He looked like a lovesick man at that time. His eyes sparkled with tears due to his unimaginable happiness, and a soothing smile spread across his face.
"Is she real? I bet she is. Finally, she will be all mine. For years I have loved you, Madelyn. I hope today I can show you how deeply I care about you. There were days when I longed to hold you so desperately, but I couldn't. I wanted to make sure I give you all the respect and rights. I would like to have your consent. I want you to love me back the way I love you.
My patience has finally paid off after all these years. I wish that today, as we unite as one, only death can separate us." Tartelon Thought.
Tartelon was lost in his thoughts as he confessed his love to her tonight. For her consent to love him, to know whether she loves him the same way he loves her.
But all of this was yet to be discovered.
Former King Harris and Queen Mika, who sat elegantly along with a few royal members watched their son waiting for his bride in awe. The queen made sure the invitation was sent to the furthest parts of Meridth. Everyone was invited to this celebration. Even the invitation was sent to the furthest reaches of the universe, who were in a truce with Meridith. After all, it was his only son's wedding, which she probably had planned since he was born. The whole kingdom celebrated the occasion.
Finally, she reached the altar where her groom was waiting for her. The whole journey she was looking down. Maybe she was nervous. Or sad. Or something was going on with her that nobody was aware of.
As she reached the altar, Tartelon extended his hands. This is the first step to letting her know that no matter what he will always be with her. She was the heir to the Rune Faeries. But one thing that withstands all of her talents is that she cannot speak. She was mute since childhood.
Finally, she thought to look up. And her eyes were sadly cold when she met Tartelon. They bore no love for him. Instead, her focus went behind her groom.
She will never forget the man standing there. Yi Hwang. The man who wore the shiny knight stood, standing behind the groom. His tan skin when reflected by the rays of the sun, looked like a sculptured god. She knew she would not have any right to look at Yi Hwang after this. But as the last time, it was, she does not want the moment to end.
"I wish I could spin the time back and get a little courage to tell you what is there in my heart. But I guess a mute girl does not have much to say. But if there was any chance someday, I truly wanted to tell you the secrets of my heart. I am sorry Yi Hwang". She thought as she finally took hold of her husband's hand, looking a little sad.
Yi Hwang stood beside his king silently. Or should we say emotionlessly? He tried not to look at her as he knew he might end up losing all his calm.
"I wish the world was only fair, you would have ended with me. But as it is not, I cannot help but stand here watching you go". Yi Hwang calmed his nerves with a thought. There was a lot of time when his inner self had urged him to announce a war for her. But he had to let her go. That was what their destiny lies.
The priest announced, "The holy rites of this marriage are now complete. You must drink this holy water to seal the marriage with the blessing of God." Both of them took a cup of water in a goblet and drank it. It was holy water from Oden's fountain. Royal marriage is a way to contain them for the rest of their lives.
"I pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride" The priest finally announced.
And finally, a drop of silent tears fell on the bride's cheeks. Her heart sank, but she had to pretend. That is what she has been doing for the past few years. Since her parents died and she had been in debt to King's shelter. She was not their own blood, but they had never seen anything less than that. But to Madelyn, it was always her responsibility before anything.
As the young and valiant King Tartelon looked at his beautiful young wife, he immediately fell in love with her once again. He wanted to kiss her right there, and show her how much he is in love with her. He wanted to wait until she consented. Until he confesses.
So he bent a little to kiss her forehead.
The crowd cheered in awe as they watched the king fall in love with his queen once again. Tartelon and Madelyn have been hot topics since they met years back.
But what is always seen, is not always true.
And that was something that happened that day.
The fates were already entangled to compress and process destiny. It is their destiny to save the universe from the danger lurking behind them.
As everything was going smoothly. Someone invaded it.
"Your Majesty" Cyria breathed out in a short panic as he broke into the marriage. Her eyes were shining bright red denoting she was seeing the future.
"Cyria? What's wrong?" Empress Soraya asked in a little panic while she turn to look at her. She knew whatever it was, it must be related to the affairs of Meridth.
"I finally saw the king's star," she said almost blinded by the vision of the future.
