TARTELON'S POV:
I ran towards the place where her corpse lay. She was dead. I can't believe she was dead. How did I ever let all this happen? I was informed of the burial. Even though I knew Lucy didn't want me in Madelyn's sanctum, I guess I will never be able to describe how I felt all this time.
My heart broke into a thousand pieces when I stared at her fragile dead body, which had been half-destroyed by the Achlys. Tears ran down my cheeks as I looked like a person who had just lost everything. She still looked beautiful as ever.
"NO..." I screamed in pain and anger. I was lost. I do not know what to do. If there was any way I could get her back, I would have. But there was none.
"Hold on, son," my father says, but nothing reaches my ears. I kneeled on the ground crying over my ill fate.
Why? God, why? Why must it be me? Why did you give me the person I could never have? Why did you make me fall for her? And why did she never love me back as much as I did?
Is this our goodbye?
Such an unfortunate man I was. I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye.
"You don't even deserve to say goodbye. Consider yourself lucky that we had to call you for the rituals." Lucy snarled. I could feel her rage.
Sorrows and remorse filled my heart when I finally noticed something.
A Phoenix arrow? It was still covered in her blood. What is it doing here? Does Yi Hwang really kill her? How could he?
Oh, poor woman, you have loved the wrong man all your life. If only you had trusted me and given me a chance, I would have proved my love for you.
He must get the most brutal punishment for such an act. I will never forgive him.
I screamed once again, letting off all the pain by unleashing my powers. Thunder echoed through the walls and sky of Meridith that day. That was all my hidden pain. That was all my rage. I finally took it all off as my body gave up in the end and I blacked out.
********
In the middle of the night, Yi Hwang ran for his life. The soldiers were running after him. His face was morphed and the dried tears are still visible.
He looked tired. He couldn't run anymore but he had to. If the soldier caught him, he would die. Before he would...
And the one thing he needed at that time was Arlite. The gate of the bridges between worlds. His only escape. But the only Arlite was located in Maximus. There is no way he could reach there now.
But as it was said, if it is fated, there is no one in the world that could stop you. And that is how in the middle of the forest the Arlite shows up glowing. He wasn't aware of the secret of Arlite.
He was startled by everyone. But he didn't have any time. The soldiers were still after him. So without a second thought, he entered. To a new world for a new journey.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
Sorry for the short chapter, but I thought to give Tartelon a moment to say his goodbye to Madelyn.
