Chereads / Regression of a Nobody / Chapter 11 - Concentration

Chapter 11 - Concentration

3 weeks have passed by in a flash.

Currently, I am sitting inside the same room where we chose our weapons, I guess this is our training area now.

There were only a handful of students left who were still struggling to keep their aura's inside of their bodies.

Unfortunately, I was one of them, although as each day passes my progress is improving.

Last week I was able to maintain it for over an hour, now I am close to surpassing a day yet I still can't make it stay still without forcing it.

The scarlet red aura refuses to be tamed by me.

"Am I not worthy?" A useless thought suddenly entered my mind.

I hurriedly wore the metal bracelet as I felt my control over it vanish.

"Damn it,"

I look at the timer on my phone.

17 hours of complete concentration.

Yet I still failed, if keep going at this rate, all my chances of entering Division S as a first-year would go down the drain.

I shake my head to clear my doubts.

I do not have time for such thoughts.

I do not have a choice.

Either I achieve it or once again I'll be helpless, unable to do anything but watch the world crumble to pieces.

Never again.

I strengthen my resolve and close my eyes.

"One more time,"

(Ms. Liana POV)

It's been 3 weeks since the students officially started Aura Training.

As I check the profile of this year's batch of students in my office, all I can say is that the students in this batch seem really promising.

Who would've thought that most of them are already able to contain their aura's?

Especially those 3,

Aston Frye, although his status is just that of a commoner the talent to tame his aura almost instantly mere seconds after being taught is nothing short of astounding, without a doubt, he will turn into a promising knight in the future.

Lyan Whitewind, the first-born from the house of Whitewind, one of the families that belong to the Rings of Royalties, from a glance I tell that he is a brat, spoiled and narcissistic, but I cannot deny that he is talented, the future of House Whitewind is bright, even though he is a little bit less talented than Aston, his status makes up for it as a gifted noble has more opportunities than a gifted commoner.

And finally,

Francesca Amberborne, there is no debate required here, she is without hesitation, the most gifted and strongest in this batch, she has more talent than Aston, bears a much more powerful status than Lyan, as the Amberborne is one of the 2 families that helped House Lucradian in the past, and on top of that was blessed by the God of War, I could only imagine what would she turn out in the future.

After finishing the paperwork I decided to give a visit to the training room to check out the progress of the handful of students that is yet to accomplish the first task.

As I enter the room what fell before my eyes are students in deep meditation.

They didn't even notice me entering the room.

"Oh, it seems one of them is finally achieving the first level of aura control,"

"FINALLY! I DID IT!" The scream of the student echoed inside the room making all the other students lose their concentration.

They all looked at him with piercing gazes.

"Oh, sorry, haha,"

"Good work, but I advise you to keep your mouth shut and have some respect for your fellow freshmen,"

The student immediately got goosebumps as he heard the familiar cold voice behind him.

He turned back and bowed instantly.

"I-I apologize, ma'am"

"Just how stupid are you, why are you apologizing to me? apologize to your classmates,"

"Oh, so-sorry. ma'am"

The student then awkwardly bowed again but this time to his classmate but it was clear that they wouldn't let him go that easily.

The student seeing that the glares from his classmate wouldn't go away just ran and left the room.

I let out a sigh as I felt some second-hand embarrassment from that nameless student.

But then my eyes fell upon another student at the very back.

Unlike the others, he was still in deep concentration.

I made my way over to that student.

From the look of it, it was clear that he was in this trance for quite some time now.

I then noticed his phone beside him, from a glance I can tell that it was acting as a timer.

But what shocked me is that on that timer it showed that he was in this trance for over 26 hours now.

I looked at the student and acknowledge his effort but that soon turn to pity because the only reason that someone would take that long just to achieve the first level of control over their aura is that they're talentless.

Most students would achieve that level of control after 4 to 6 hours of meditation but this particular student has gone above and beyond that.

Still, even though he may be talentless I commend his persistence.

I inwardly wish him luck as I made my way out of the room.

(Cain POV)

I lost the track of time and my surroundings.

I simply do not care for those things at the moment what is more important to me is the raging battle inside of my mind.

The scarlet red aura and my will have been clashing for god know how long now.

I cannot lose.

I cannot lose.

I cannot lose.

I WILL NOT LOSE.

Visions of the future suddenly went inside my mind.

The ruins of Lucradian.

The sea of blood.

The stench of death.

I will not let it happen again.

I grit my teeth and fought harder with every ounce of my mental strength.

Armed with my newfound strength, the mental warfare soon became one-sided.

After one last push, the scarlet aura soon calmed down until finally resting within my body.

It no longer had any desire to escape.

I slowly open my eyes as I lay down on the floor.

As my eyes gaze at the ceiling.

There was one sentence that echoed inside my mind.

"I won,"
