Chapter 12 - One Step at a Time

As I rest my head on the floor.

My mind is beyond exhausted but my relief is overflowing.

I reach my hand out to the phone beside me.

My eyes widened as I look how long I was in my trance.

59 hours,

Time can really pass by you before you even noticed it.

When I was about to pick myself up from the ground.

A familiar voice echoed inside my head.

"Sir Cain, you have achieved 5000 merits"

A smile formed on my face.

This was a very good day.

I was able to achieve control and on top of that, I gained a lot of merits.

"How many do I have now?"

"You currently have 5100 Merits, Sir Cain,"

Just a couple bit more I would now be able to choose another mark.

As I look around the room, the handful of students that I was meditating with was now gone.

It seems that I was the last one to finish.

I made my way out of the room and into my dorm.

I immediately took my clothes off and took a shower.

Now that I finally achieved basic control, I can now move on to the second task.

Communing with your weapon,

It is a process in which you are able to use your aura to store your weapon.

But let's leave that for tomorrow, right now all I want is a good night's sleep.

It is currently the next day, I was in a very good mood as I slept like a baby last night.

I made my way into Ms. Liana's office as she said to tell her if you're done with the first task.

I knocked on the door,

"Come in,"

As I enter Ms. Liana was on her desk probably doing some sort of paperwork.

She then turns her head away from the papers and towards me.

"I assume you're finally done with the first task?"

"Yes, ma'am"

"How long did it take you?"

I was slightly taken aback by this question but I immediately answered it.

"It took around 56 hours, ma'am"

"Don't be discouraged, what matters is that you achieved it in the end,"

"Thank you, ma'am"

"Alright, the second task is communing with your weapon, in other words, it is the process of storing your weapon inside your stigma, all you need to do is to make your aura envelop it and imagine it being taken away to a safe place which is your stigma,"

Ms. Liana then suddenly took a dagger out of her pocket.

It was a dagger, it bore the same characteristics as the same one that she threw back then in the room.

A scarlet red aura then came out of her body and soon enveloped the dagger.

It grabbed the dagger and retracted inside her body with it.

"Just like that,"

From the looks of it, the process was the same in the shield stigma.

I took my longsword that was strapped to my waist.

I let my scarlet red aura come out of my body and imagined it taking the longsword.

And just like I thought, it was the same.

The longsword in my hand was now gone and now bound to my stigma.

"That took a lot less time, good work, now you can go ahead and make your way to room 201 in the battle building, Instructor Zach will be the one teaching the longsword user's basic combat,"

I bowed towards Ms. Liana and left her office.

As I made my way to the battle building.

A familiar presence washed over my body.

I instinctively reached into my heart to pull my longsword and immediately took a look to my surroundings.

All there were was the other students that had a confused look in their faces.

But I could care less about them right now.

It was only there for a split second but that was enough for me to know what it is.

A demonic presence.

But that's impossible they would only appear 10 years from now.

Am I losing my mind or is there really a demon in the academy?

Eitherway both are equally worrying.

I take a deep breathe and put my longsword back into my heart.

If the off chance that there is really a demon in this school.

"I dare them to come,"I mutter under my breathe.

And continued making my way towards the battle building disregarding the confused gazes of the other students upon me.

(??? POV)

"Is that really true?"

"Yes," A muffled voice came out of the smartphone.

"Then she will be worthy," A smile creeped up my face,

Overcomed by excitement a few specks of my bloodlust flowed through my disguise.

"Oh,"

"What happened?"

"I lost control of my disguise for a moment, but I doubt anyone would've noticed, all of humanity has forgotten us at this point," A hint of anger was present in my voice.

"Do not worry brother, the time will come where we will make them remember,"

"Yes, I know brother, and I just can't wait,"

(Cain POV)

After a few minutes of walking I finally made it to the room that Ms. Liana was talking about.

I opened the door and before me were students swinging their longswords in unison.

"Again!, most of you had crappy forms, you think a monster would wait for you to fix your stances in the battlefields?, AGAIN"

Instructor Zach then turned away from the students and looked at me.

"You there ,get your sword out of your arse and stand in line,"

I immediately complied and now I was one of the students who were swinging in unison.
