Another week has passed by.
My basic combat training has gone splendidly well.
I finally got the gist of how to use the 3 basic moves correctly.
My aura control on the other hand could still use a bit of work but I'm getting there.
I look around the room and It was obvious that most of the students were anxious.
This is probably due to the fact that yesterday our instructor told us to be prepared as today he prepared a special training for us.
Although I think I know what that special training would be.
"Hey, you feeling anxious too?"
I look to my side and see a fellow student.
He had black hair and green eyes that go reasonably well with his glasses.
"Not really," I respond to him
"Good for you, cause right now, I'm about to cr*p my pants,"
I utter a chuckle towards him.
"Name's Troy by the way," He says as he extends his hand toward me.
"Cain," I respond as I shake his hand.
"So, Cain, where you from?"
"Born and bred here in Lucradia, you?"
"Oh, I'm from Fylian,"
"Fylian? You're pretty far from home,"
"Yeah, got no choice, it's either becoming a knight or being stuck working for my father's business, what about you? what made you want to be a knight?"
"Pay's well,"
Troy then utter a small chuckle.
"Can't argue with that,"
The whole room then suddenly became quiet.
It seems that instructor Zach is finally here.
(Instructor Zach POV)
"Alright, form lines of 5,"
All of the students immediately comply.
"I congratulate you guys since most of you already know how to use your longsword correctly, but that is not enough,"
"As a knight, whether you are fighting against a monster or a man, there is one thing that you should never lose control of,"
"And that is your composure,"
Suddenly a terrifying aura came out of Instructor Zach,
Some of the students instantly fell to their knees.
While some were barely standing.
"Fight through your fears!"
"Overcome them!"
"Your enemy would have already sliced your head off and a monster would have already devoured your flesh if you give in this easily,"
"Do not falter and stand tall!"
I take a deep sigh.
As much as I was motivating them it was expected.
These students still haven't encountered a real monster in their lives.
One by one they were being brought to their knees.
After a minute or two, there were only 5 students standing.
Time to up the pressure.
My scarlet red aura became even redder and heavier.
As soon as I did that the remaining students that were standing trembled even more.
Two of them couldn't bear it any longer and fell.
I applaud these 3 even when I increased my pressure they're still standing.
I guess this batch is really talented as they say.
Let's see if they can handle more.
I increased my pressure even further.
Immediately afterward one of them fell to the ground.
And the last two were gritting their teeth.
Such dedication to handle this much I guess it's safe to say that these 2 already passed.
But a grin formed on my face.
I'm curious will they be able even more?
I up my pressure again.
This would even make fellow official knights tremble a bit.
A student then fell to the ground.
Oh, looks like one couldn't take it anymore, a shame.
Only one remains.
Let's see how long you last.
He was gritting his teeth and his head was looking at the ground but his body just won't fall.
But my eyes widened at what happened next.
He lifted his head and looked me straight in the eyes.
This student's determination is astonishing.
But in the end, he is just a student.
A grin formed on my face once again.
Let us see if you can handle it even more.
I upped my pressure to the max.
This can make even B-Class Knights falter!
Now, Dear Student, kindly fall to your knees.
(Kayn POV)
I felt his aura become even heavier.
In the past, there was also a test like this in the shield stigma.
Its purpose was to train students when they would inevitably fight real monsters in the field.
The past me would have instantly fallen as soon as the moment he let out his aura but,
I already encountered something far worse than a monster.
Now do your worst.
(Instructor Zach POV)
I can't believe it.
Are my eyes deceiving me?
He's still standing.
From the moment he looked at me with his blue piercing gaze, it didn't leave me even for a second.
I can't increase my aura even further but if I keep maintaining it.
Eventually, he'll fall!
"Si-Sir, Ple-please stop"
I look to the ground and see a student with his arms grasping his chest.
I snapped out of my trance and immediately stopped emitting my aura.
I look around the room and all the other students were now barely breathing.
If I kept going the other students might have died.
Damn,
I lost.
I look back at that student who was still standing proudly.
I nod at him in acknowledgment.
"Tha-that's enough for today, you may go back to your dorms,"
I made my way out of the room but there was a fact that was ringing in my mind.
That student was a f*cking monster.
