"Monsters, can you please deactivate your skills? You're going to kill the victor," the Beast king ordered.
No matter how strong the elf was, he was no match for the five skills specifically made to kill an opponent from a long distance. It also didn't help that he's just been in a fight, so defending himself became just a bit more difficult.
"Tsk!" Everyone who attacked him including me muttered as we released our skills. The elf could finally breath again but the attacks took a toll on him and he dropped down, passed out cold.
"Ha! Finally! A win for my side," King Fenrick announced proudly. The med team quickly rushed in and took the elf out of the arena.
"I have to say, I had no idea you had someone like that in your side," King Jason nodded in acknowledgement. "But did he really have to go overboard? If he wanted to, he would have easily finished this fight much earlier than now. It was his choice to continue with the fight,"
Many representatives also shared their views about the fight, but at the moment, the rest of us rushed to the ward to see how Clare was fairing.

"Most of her bones were completely destroyed, a lot of blood lost too. Her skull was also ruptured and due to the amount of energy and mana she used, we're just lucky that she's still alive," the doctor informed us when we enquired about her.
"Now, if you will excuse me, I'll have to go back and continue with the operation,"
The doc quickly returned to his duties. We all stayed silent, giving everyone a moment to sigh in relief.
"I'll stay here, you guys. She'll need someone around when she wakes up. And also, I could use that rest that the doctors keep bugging me about," Sally volunteered. "Plus, you guys still have a fight to go to. Give them hell for me!"
We allowed her to do what she wants cause just as she said, we still had a fight to get to. As we walked back to the arena, we started exchanging ideas about the fight.
"That fight was really surprising," the general began, "I know that she wasn't the strongest of werewolves out there but from the start, I could tell she was painfully outmatched,"
"What kind of power was that from the elf?" I asked him.
"That, my boy, I don't even know. Your thoughts, Merlik,"
"Nothing to say about that, just that we should keep our guards up in the upcoming fights," he answered.
Nephis, Harold, Mr Ben and Mrs Kelly had nothing more to add on. We were soon back in our designated room, observing the next match up.
"How unfortunate. Guess our revenge will have to wait," General mentioned.
"Why is that?"
"Seems like the next match up will be Ben over here and some rando brought in by the Elf King,"
"To be acknowledged by one of the kings, he must be real strong. So again, how does this affect our goal again?" Mr Ben asked.
"I hear that this guy was just called in by the king. He was requested to join the leaves of life but he declined, saying it was too much of a problem for him. Then again, my sources did say that he had someone to take care of so that was the main reason he refused,"
"I see. So, he's here because...?"
"The person he's taking care of was just recently abducted by the demons. He says he won't join the leaves of life, but he will participate in this Demofight to earn his right in the elites to save that someone he failed to protect,"
"Huh. He's here with a noble cause then. Mr Kanon rein. I'll remember that name," Mr Ben said as he walked over to the door.
"This match up will be very interesting. I have never seen how Ben fights. And to go up again someone who refused a high title and one of the kings respected his wishes. Yeah, this will be interesting indeed," the General added as he watched the human walk out of the podium.
The first door to open this time was the elf's, where a guy walked in confidently. He looked about six four, and had a very distinguished aura around him.
He was a dark elf, evident from his color and pointed ears, but contrary to all the perfect faces we've seen on previous elves that was always overbearing, his had a gentle look about it. He could have very well passed for one of those cool uncles I've always heard about, but he looked just about twenty-six years in elf years.
After seeing all the armor that was worn by previous contestants, I was caught in surprise when Kanon walked in, chest bare, with only a black short covering him. He had a good posture, good abs too. I could feel the stares he got from the surrounding lady representatives.
"Ho Ho. Who do we have here? I thought you couldn't recruit him Fenrick, did he finally join your side?" King Jason asked with amusement.
"No he didn't. And before you ask, don't get any ideas about him too. I respected his choice to stay as he is, so you should too,"
"Hmm... Fine then. I leave him...for now, "
"I'm sorry, did you just say for–"
"Where's his opponent?" the Beast king wondered as he searched for Mr Ben.
The next door opened and Mr Ben walked in with nothing on but the clothes he had on previously. I'm sure many people were wondering how in the world could a human become a warrior.
Mr Ben had nothing special on him though. Dark handsome face with a calm smile on him, his height just about the same as his opponent. A simple t-shirt on him and a cream pair of khaki shorts too.
Don't let his looks full you folks. I've seen him beat the crap out of monsters with nothing on but a designer suit, and that's when he was having a serious meeting. So believe me when I tell you that this is as much as a battle gear as any out there.
"Hello there, a pleasure to meet you," Kanon began.
"Likewise. Let's have ourselves a good match," Mr Ben said as he moved forward to shake his hand.
"That we will," Kanon answered as he received the hand.
"Welcome back, all races to another round. Sorry that there's no time for rest, but this will be the final match for today, the rest will be left for tomorrow," the ref began.
"We've all seen the names of the opponents, and they all know the rules to follow, so we might as well start this match. BEGIN!"
Good to see our ref still is lazy with the announcements. Someone should really talk with this guy.
Both fighters stared at each other, one waiting for the other to attack. Then, both nodded their heads like in a sort of understanding. They then run at each other and only used their fists to do the talking.
From where I'm standing, they both looked equally matched, each neutralizing the former's thrusts till both were dripping with sweat. Shock waves were created as the attacks became even more violent. Eventually, both parted from each other with satisfied smirks on their faces.
"You've earned my respect, Ben. And believe me, I don't give it easily," Kanon said as he took in deep breathes.
"Seeing that we are on par on each other, you wouldn't mind if I started using my ability now, would you?"
"Go for it! Just know I'll do the same,"
Both grinned like old friends before they quickly rushed back at each other. Mr Ben's speed seemed to increase drastically and not just speed, but also his strength. Kanon was finding it difficult to keep up with Ben this time with each fist pushing him back. Due to the difference in speed, he was caught by a stray punch that sent him flying to the ground.
"Nice one!" he spat as he wiped the blood from his mouth.
"Your not giving this your all you know. Stop holding back and just show me your ability!" Ben requested as he raised his arms back into a fighting posture.
"The dark elf should really take this much seriously," General Zard commented while we continued watching the match.
"Why is that?" I asked.
"Remember how I said that he was the one that held back a dragon before the Calvary arrived? Well, the only way he was able to do that was because the rogue dragon was not in its right mind."
"What do you mean by that?" Mr Kelly wondered.
"I'm saying that the dragon failed to realize it was at a disadvantage. It was actually a flight type, but that time, it chose to fight on the ground, where Ben excels in. That's what his report says at least."
"I...don't follow," I muttered. The general sighed and began explain more in detail.
"To understand, first you'll have to know the kind of ability Ben holds. They couldn't come up with a good name for it, but all I know is that it enhances his body in some way. The more mana he has, the more powerful he becomes."
"That ability of his not only uses his mana, but it can also restore it. As long as Ben stays on the ground, that skill will always be active. That's why the dragon was at a disadvantage. Due to it choosing to stay on the ground, it had unknowingly given itself a handicap,"
"That elf right over there has no idea that if he fails to give this match his all, and is maybe trying to weaken Ben's strength over time, then he's in for a rude awakening,"
"I don't think that's the case here. It looks like he's just here to enjoy the fight. It's...it's like he doesn't want to use his ability, maybe he thinks his power will immediately get him the win," Mr Kelly observed.
The elf just kept getting up even when he was beaten bloody, that battle-hardened smile of his never leaving his face. It reached a point where the match was just a one sided beating. Mr Ben didn't look the least bit tired. In fact, he looked even more powerful that before.
"What are you doing?" he finally asked the elf who could barely even stand upright.
"What...do...you...mean?"
"All this time, you know my power will climb the more you drag this on. Why aren't you using your abilities? Do you think that I can't handle it?"
"Oh, I know you can't handle it. No offence to your ability. But how you are now, you just might be enough for it,"
A frown appeared on Mr Ben's face. He took two steps back as he could fill a large pool of energy rising from the elf. Kanon dug his hands deep into the ground and began muttering a incantation.
"What's he doing now? Shouldn't they be fighting? He's wide open!" one of the lady representatives shouted.
Knowing Mr Ben, he would want to experience what sort of ability the elf had up his sleeves. I was right on the money cause Mr Ben folded his arms and gave the elf the time needed to conjure whatever he was doing.
Suddenly, the entire arena began to quake as cracks began forming around the arena. Thanks to the barrier instated, no more damage was done than need. I eyed a certain someone who was desperately trying to pass through the barrier to run to safety. Huh, that ref should really get a raise now that I think about it, cause whatever his been through this day...
Infront of Kanon, a large head began manifesting from the ground followed by what looked like a humongous body of a large warrior. The legs soon followed too, and when the thing finally stood up straight, it was so large, that it was on the same eye level with the Kings' throne.
"No way! This can't be!" Harold exclaimed in shock. That's about the first time I've seen him loose his composure and look this animated since I met him.
"What's wrong, wizard? What are we looking at?" the general asked curiously.
"Ben should withdraw from this fight, immediately," Merlik warned.
"What are you guys not telling us," Nephis asked in frustration.
"Before us stands one of the best things to ever be created. Worst if it's your enemy,"
"Just tell us what it is already!" I said in frustration.
I was also getting irriated at how long they wanted to drag this out. But before anyone could answer, someone screamed from the crowd.
"A GUARDIAN GOLEM!"
