"W–W–WEEELCOOOMEE BACK EVERY MONSTER TO THE SECOND DAY OF THE FIGHT FOR THE ELITE!" the announcer screeched loudly from his sound amplifier.
I rubbed the sleep off my eyes as I stiffled a yawn coming my way. I can't say the bed is to blame, but that was one of the worst sleeps I've ever had once we parted with Queen. Cathy had earlier woken me up just around seven? I'm not sure... I have no idea how time flows here.
She said I was screaming in my sleep with tears in my eyes. I'm not even sure if she was joking. Anyways, after a good shower and a heavy breakfast (the cooks went all out) we we're reared up and ready to go. Not me though.
"Never slept that good in my life, even with this injured arm," Mr Ben remarked. "How about youu....Ah.... let's change the topic,"
Hmm... What gave it away? The bag's on my eyes? Or maybe the pissed off look I gave him.
"Next match up is on your screens," the Beast king announced a little too excited. The Elf King was just like before, next to him with a satisfied grin on his face. Though anyone observant could tell that the excitement shining from his eyes wasn't easily masked.
The soul reaper's name glowed with yellow colours matched up with another leaf of life on the screen. Merlik nodded and moved on towards the arena without any words. A strong silent type, that one.
"Hey, general. Got some info on her that your could share with us?" Clare asked as she sat near the observing glass. The doctors said that her healing capabilities would increase if she were to walk around, that's why she had joined us today. Sally was next to her, fully healed of her injuries.
All that was left was my sleepy self seated next to Queen, who was giving me some sort of look for some reason. Mrs Kelly was next to her and finally the general.
All representatives were back to their respective rooms, not much to say about them than that. They all looked well rested too. Lucky bastards.
"None to tell, Clare. She's as mysterious as her race," the general answered.
I squinted my eyes to zoom in on the arena where Merlik had just arrived. Not many ideas about her race came to mind while observing her as she still had on that mask of hers on.
"Speaking of which, what is her race?" Mr Ben asked. No doubt he couldn't come up with any name either.
The general shook his head before answering, " No Idea. Probably the king does, but if Merlik wanted us to know, she's have already told us. But maybe we'll get some clues if we observe the fight,"
The elf's door opened and another hooded figure walked into the mix just like the rest of them. What's with elves and hoods anyways?
The ref today was no where in sight, the poor lad. The previous fights must have been too much for him. I have to wonder though, who will–
*Clang*
A sound echoed through the halls. Everyone grew silent as they turned their heads to the source of the sound, an armored knight walking into the arena all wobbly. I could tell everyone's guards were up at the unknown person. The kings had a look of confusion on their faces as they failed to understand who the new person was.
Both Merlik and the hooded elf positioned themselves into a defensive position. The knight finally gave us some peace of mind when he came to a stop in front of both warriors. He raised his hands to his helmet to reveal himself but his attempt was halted when the helmet failed to come off.
"Huh. That's strange," he muttered as he tried once more. By now, everyone stared in anticipation to observe who was under that helmet. But why was that voice so familiar?
Merlik moved towards the knight. "Need some help with that?"
The knight shook his head furiously and continued to tug on the helmet. It finally came off with a light pop, only to reveal the last person you would ever think to be there.
"KEVIN! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" the Beast King roared in anger as he stared at the ref. That's right folks, it's the ref who was under the helmet!
"We'll excuse me, sir! Are you the one risking your life to see through the match?" The ref, aka Kevin, sassed as he glared up at the king.
"Isn't the armor a bit overkill?" the king asked while rubbing his head, his face showing stress for some reason.
"No it isn't! Now ignoring him, Warriors, are you ready?" Kevin asked, clearly not caring about the authority of the king.
The king placed both hands on the thrown as he shook his head and shrugged. "Interns. What can you do?"
"Now, I want a clean and fair fight from the both of you, none of that like yesterday, alright?" Kevin warned.
Both contestants nodded. The ref rose his hand in the air after a few more words of warning. "BEGIN!"
Merlik didn't make a move as she heard no idea who she was fighting against. Her opponent, however, found that to its advantage and sprinted across the field to meet the Soul reaper dead on.
But Merlik looked calm as she met the attack. The elf suddenly found itself frozen in place by some unknown magic just inches away from Merlik's face.
"What...is...this?" it asked under the hood. Through the voice, I could tell that she was female. Merlik smiled and brought down her fist on the elf, sending her metres back with that one attack.
The elf girl took of her hood as she stood up to reveal yet another dark elf. Not much to say about her, but if she were to pass for Kanon's older sister, I'd believe it. Looking at her now, she did have blood dripping from her nose... Wait, what the hell?!
Gasps escaped everyone's mouth as they too wondered how how the hell she got injured easily. Compared to all the matched we've seen except for General Zard, there's always been a build up of the fight up until the climax. This on the other hand, seemed sort of quick and in some way, disappointing.
The elf held her nose and healed it, she too wondering what happened to her. Merlik was probably the only one who knew, and the kings obviously, but it looked like they weren't in the giving mode at the moment.
Merlik this time went on the offensive, breezing through the field in lightning speed, leaving a large gust of wind in her wake. Our dear ref tried running out of the way but I'm very sure he didn't think things through with the armor cause it ended up hindering his escape from danger. With no respect to the armor nor the ref, the gust of wind whisked him away to the barrier where he crash landed.
"OOOWWW!" the crowed jeered when we saw his impact. Funny how everyone here was just waiting for the ref to get injured. Aw jeez! Forgot about the... fight? Um...
"I'm I missing something or are there no people in the arena," I wondered as I turned to queen.
"Don't look at me! I was watching the ref too,"
"Mr Ben? General? Anyone?"
Everyone shook their heads. I turned back to the arena while viewing the Kings from the side. They too had confused looks on their faces.

[Um... Bradley?]
[I see. Can you tell me what power was used?]
Bradley went silent for a moment before he came up again.
[*Sigh* the one time I ask you for something and you fail me... I'm curious though, what is her race?]
[You playing with me? Cause Egyptian is not a race you racist bastard!]
[ Dude, those guys don't exist anymore. At least, ever since the first great war of monsters against humans]
[That.... I definitely wasn't expecting that. The last of her kind...Must be difficult for–Hey wait a minute, did you just call me–]

A large amount of sand began building up speed until a large tornado formed. Just then, something was spat out of it. It skidded to a stop next to the ref, who was not at all pleased to realize that the tornado noticed him.
He slowly approached the body, then his eyes widened in shock. "Medteam! Get in here, quick! We might lose her!"
Two orcs dressed in white clothes matched in quickly and attended to the wounded. The tornado was still spinning, but didn't look like it was threatening anyone around. The ref looked worried for some reason but everyone else wanted to know what happened.
"Kevin! Need my help?" The Beast king asked as he rose from his seat.
"Sir, please. I can handle this. But what you can help in is by declaring this match over,"
"What are you saying?"
The ref pointed at the tornado. "I HEAR BY DISQUALIFY YOU FROM THE BATTLE OF THE ELITES!"
"KEVIN, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" King Fenrick finally stood up. And he did not look pleased at all.
The tornado finally calmed down till someone was left at the centre. Merlik calmly walked towards the door of the arena to everyone's surprise.
But before she could leave the arena, two guards stopped her advance, and by the look of things, they were elves.
"You've got some explaining to do, girl! What did you due to Mrs Shirley? Answer me!" one asked angrily.
"I don't have to answer any of your questions, do I?" Merlik said.
"YOU INSOLENT, WORTHLESS–" the guard immediately choked up his insults. His partner tried to help him but he too found breathing a bit difficult.
"Gentlemen, I just got disqualified from this stupid battle. Should you really try picking a fight with me?" Merlik asked in a calm voice, he threat clearly portrayed. Both soilders tried speaking but they were still preoccupied by unknown forces.
"THAT'S ENOUGH OUT OF YOU!" the Elf King ordered as he flew down from his throne.
"Hey Fenrick, you really shouldn't–"
The Elf king was having none of that. He approached angrily at Merlik who didn't even for one second waver. In fact, she looked like she had anticipated this.
"What's your problem, huh? Leave my guards out of this!"
Merlik smiled and raised her arms in the air. Both guards rose while still holding their necks, their faces scrunched up in pain. "They started this,"
King Fenrick's eyes flared in rage. He slashed upwards, and a tunnel of pure golden light raced towards the soul reaper. Suddenly, a large clap of thunder was heard and the golden tunnel was dispersed.
The Beast king was in the middle of both heated parties. "Fenrick, calm yourself. This is beneath you. And Merlik..." King Jason stared angrily at her. A hint of fear showed in Merlin's eyes.
"...Fine. They get to live today," she murmured before dropping both guard's who took up fresh air in deep gulps.
King Fenrick straightened his robe. "Hmph! You're lucky today, girl. I will not allow someone to disrespect us elves in front of me,"
Merlik seemed ready to talk back but another look from the Beast King, and she immediately chose to keep quiet.
"Well folks. That was unnecessary. This match I'll put it on hold. I hate to dispute what the ref said but Merlik is not yet disqualified. That was just him in the heat of the moment." King Jason laughed as he tried to ease the tension around.
"Now, Merlik. A word?"
"But my lease–"
"A word?" the king repeated sternly. I could tell it was taking everything in his power to keep his cool.
"Yes, My king,"
