Silence echoed all around the hall with everyone's mouths opened in surprise. Both Kings had wide grins on their faces like they had planned this from the start. (probably because they did)
"I know many of you are busy, but that's why this time, I summoned you to this place. Where time is irrelevant. So please do your best to fight–I mean work hard to enter one of the elite," the Beast king added.
If I didn't know any better, I'd say that they were just looking for an excuse to put us warriors in a battle to see who would come up the top. The competitive look in both their eyes was a dead give away too.
"We have a field prepared for all you people, the only audience being those present in this room. Now... " King Jason stood up and snapped his fingers. The hall suddenly shifted once again like back at the office, and we were all placed in a different room with only the adamantium warriors and their representatives present.
"Um...what the hell was that about?" Were girl asked as she turned to Mrs Kelly.
"Just as you heard. Everyone here will have to go up against one of the Elf king's elite members to prove who is worthy of their titles. Keep in mind that this is also an internal war between both Kings so everyone better do his best against his opponent, less you lose your pride as a monster," Mrs Kelly warned.
"And now, as our first contestants, the warrior Viper master verses one of the visitors!" an announcement was issued through invisible microphones.
"So I'm first? Well then, let's see what these champs are made of," the viper master said as she licked her lips in anticipation.
"If all of you would like, we could all move to the podium made by the kings to watch the fight," Kelly suggested.
We all agreed it would be good to observe the first match and gauge how strong our competition really was. But as we moved out, I felt a hand hold mine back hence was slowed down a bit. I turned and saw the ice princess was the culprit. After a short internal battle of whether to stay or leave, I finally gave in and we both patiently waited for everyone to leave.
"How may I help you?" I finally asked after a few minutes of silence. Standing up close to her, she was definitely more beautiful. And what was that wonderful smell....c'mon Max, Focus.
"Did you...do all that just around this year?" she muttered silently but my sensitive ears picked up on what she said.
"Uh...yeah? Is there something I did wrong?" I asked her. I hope this isn't like that cliché thing of rookie crushing cause if it is, I'm definitely not going down without a fight! Well... maybe against her I'd give her the wi–no! What is happening to me?! It's that smell she's emitting!
She stared me hard, making me more nervous that I really was then slowly, her face softened and she suddenly gave me a tight hug.
"Ah..."
When she pulled back, she had on this cute smile on her face that made my heart flutter.
"Thank you, Chaos child. No, actually, I should introduce myself. My name is Nephis Queen, and due to your very important information, no harm came to one of the camps where my big sister resides," she thanked me while bowing down in respect.
"Ah...No prob. Always...uh...happy to help," I answered with my brain in shambles while still trying to register my first hug with a girl.
"I'm sorry about they way I acted before when I first met you. You're probably still mad at me for how cold I was," she mumbled when she noticed I wasn't talking. My mind seemed to recover itself when I realized she must be beating herself over her first reaction when she saw me.
I grabbed both her hands(gods they're soft) and shook my head furiously.
"You did nothing wrong! Quite frankly, that's how an ice princess such as yourself should act. I mean, even if I hadn't spoken up, wouldn't you have protected your sister no matter the cost?"
Her face was beetroot red. Did she catch a cold or something? Hmm... I stared down and just know realized I was holding onto both her arms. I quickly let go to give her some space. She breathed a sigh of relief as she calmed down.
"My sis is in a different camp than mine, so that would be impossible. I was just informed by my escort that her camp was saved by one of the warriors. No offence, but I really didn't think you were the one who gave the authorities the info," she answered softly.
"Don't worry. None taken. And I'm Max by the way. Mandrax Randolf," I introduced myself.
"Hi Max. Let's make it to the elite team as the youngest group, ok?" she said excitedly and placed her hand out to shake on it.
I smiled and threw out my hand for the handshake, but when we grasped each other, she suddenly pulled me in and whispered in my ear...
"If you ever tell anybody about how I acted here today, I will search the heavens for you if I have to, and freeze over your balls. And this isn't a threat. It's a promise,"
She pulled back and patted my back, then gave me a final smile as she studied me. Her previous frown returned as she turned her back to me.
"Oh and Max, your zipper is untied... spongebob undies," she giggled and left, leaving me rapidly placing both hands to my flyer as I blushed in embarrassment.
"Ice queen to the very end I see,"

"What did I miss?" I asked once I entered our observatory.
"Match still hasn't started. Come over here boy, see how powerful one of the warriors really is–why are you zipping your pants?" General Zard asked.
He turned to the ice princess who had a nonchalant look on her face then back at me then back at her. I felt a chill run up my spine when he finally settled on me with angered eyes.
"Nope! Nothing happened, general. Don't give me that death stare!"
Before the general could respond, he was cut off by the random voice.
"And now, can we please welcome the contestants!" an announcer spoke up.
I finally had a chance to catch a glimpse of the arena. What do you know, looks like one of the modern ones.
A large field placed in the middle of various screens where I'm assuming the various faction leaders were placed. The ground itself was like any other normal field, only a powerful barrier surrounding the green grass as the only exception. Viper Master walked in with a confident stride with nothing on for protection but the normal clothes she had on during the meeting, even though I heard that there were weapons and armor issued incase one needed them.
She stood in the middle of the field and patiently waited for the large emerald doors in front of her to open up. She didn't have to wait long cause immediately after she stopped, they were already opening. Soon, one of the hooded figures from before walked in.
Surprisingly, to our left, both Kings were in their thrones, only this time dressed for the event. The Beast King rose in all his glory and began his speech.
"Now, for the rules. There will be absolutely no killing of any contestants. Knock out or rendering your enemy powerless are the only ways of winning. Powers and abilities are allowed and finally, give this match your all!" he said in excitement, almost jumping to the field, but was pulled back by the Elf King to his seat.
A male half-orge slowly appeared from below the ring, and seemed to be in referee gear with a microphone attached to his mouth. He was a lot thinner compared to what is expected from his race, and could have easily passed for one of those emo kids with dark hair and no reason to live but rock on, with his dark hair and piercings.
He adjusted the microphone to his mouth, then began to speak, "I want a fair and just fight. If one of you uses a method to cheat, that counts as an immediate win for the other opponent. Though I'd advice you not to, for the sake of your life," he warned.
Then, raising his arms, he shouted...
"BEGIN!"
The ref was immediately blown off his feet when both parties collided with each other, arms grasping with one trying to overpower the other. He probably didn't know what he'd got himself into.
"At least you can hold your own, little one. Now, show me what you've got!" the Viper Master roared her challenge and tossed the hooded figure behind, right to the wall that cracked on impact.
The hood finally came off and what looked like an Elf emerged, her sharp ears perked up as they should, a creepy smile growing on her bloody mouth.
"They told me that I'd find my match here. I'd say you qualified for that," she said and spat out what I think was a tooth.
"Oh? then try your best not to die!" Viper said and suddenly appeared right in front of the elf, her left hand wrapped around her neck. The elf tried fighting back with her arms but she was in an obvious disadvantage.
This match looked like it was pretty much settled... that is until Viper found herself pushed back by an unknown force, strong enough to draw blood from her mouth.
"What was–" her head was grasped right around the hair, and she was quickly smashed to the ground. I heard surprised gasps from everyone around.
Once the dust had settled, the elf came up smiling, her eyes glowing a deep red. Viper master laid in a pool of her own blood, but seemed to be struggling to stand up. The elf began laughing as she saw her opponent on the ground.
"Is this all you got? And you call yourself one of the powerful monsters? Here I thought you could withstand my power!" she rebuked Viper.
"Anyone wanna to explain to me what just happened?" I asked in surprise.
"That, my dear warrior, is a very powerful skill," a voice spoke through a monitor that I just now noticed was below us.
"Um... your highness, what are you doing on our screen?" General Zard asked as everyone in the podium came closer to hear what the king had to say.
"Talking to you guys of course. Why? Is there a problem?"
"None sir,"
"Good. Moving on, these warriors you are about to face all have abilities that are hazardous to monsters,"
"WHAT?!" everyone exclaimed in shock.
"That's right. They have abilities that are natural enemies to monsters. A good example is that elf over there. She has a skill called 'hunter', that allows her to weaken any monster she's battling, and steal their strength for themselves," the king explained.
"So what you're saying is that Viper master was the one at a disadvantage the second she stepped into the battle?" Were girl asked worriedly.
"Right you are half-wolf,"
"Forgive me for asking sir, but why are you helping us with this info?"
"Because the Elf King is also explaining your powers to his warriors. Let's just say, we both want to win this thing. Well then, good luck Monsters," he cut transmission right after that last message.
"So how is she going to win this match? She'll be killed at this rate!" I pointed out. I stared at all the adamantium warriors and wondered why they were so calm about this. Some even looked like they were actually rooting for the elf. Mr Ben walked over when he realized I was actually serious.
"Max, you have no idea who the viper master is do you? Let me tell you here and now that the one you should be worried about is the elf,"
"How so?" I asked as I crossed my arms.
"Don't you know her full story? Zard, you didn't tell him everything did you? Listen well. That woman over there is–"
"He doesn't need to know everything about her, Ben. Leave it at that," General Zard interjected.
"Who are you to withdraw this from him? He is an adamantium warriors for Beasts sake!"
"I'm his general for your information, Ben. And what I say goes,"
"Well I'm his friend so I outrank you. Anyways, that lady over there is feared for what she did after destroying those Millennial monsters. It's said the monsters did a whole lot damage to her town, so as revenge, she hunted down each and every remaining descendants of the monsters and killed them all."
"Even more terrifying is that the type of monsters she fought, not even one was below the centurion level!"
"Oh... So your telling me... " I turned my attention back to the battle and saw the Elf backing away from the Viper master in fear, even though she was still on the ground.
"It's began," the soul reaper muttered.
