Chapter 7 - TEOT 7

"Hello? Excuse you," Aurora freaked out at the sight of a stranger on her worn-out sofa.

"Oh. Here you are, blondie," he turned around.

"Mr Garcia? You scared the hell outta me! Why the heck did you barge into my apartment?"

"Consider it a privilege."

"You know, I could file a case against you."

"What's your proof? Besides, I can't even steal, especially not from the poor. You guys got nothing to offer."

"Rich people's aura, disgusting. I would just take that as an insult. Straight to the point, what do you want from me?"

"Move in with me."

"Last time we met, you were furious. And now, you're asking me to move in with you? Tell me, are you a serial killer?"

"Stop interrogating me, and do as I say."

"For how long?"

"I don't know, but I will tell you when it's time."

"Hmm."

"Don't lie to me. Why did you come back into my life? Literally, you ruined me, and my life is on the wrong track all because of you."

"Here you go again. Blame on me, blame on you and blame on us. That's it!"

"Blah blah blah. We are getting engaged."

"Are you kidding?"

"You love me, blondie and you can't hide it. So, don't say no."

"Mr Right. I changed my mind. Your arrogance made me do so," she said to his face.

"Thank goodness. We hate each other, so it will work out perfectly."

"What?"

"Are you cursed with asking questions?"

"I'm just curious."

He rolled his eyes, "Always."

"Let me get things straight. If you hate me, then why are we getting engaged?"

"That shouldn't matter. So, yes?"

She went silent before responding. "Uh, okay. Yeah."

Did she just agree?

"It's going to be in a week time. We have limited time to make the necessary arrangements. All you need to do is–"

"Do as you say," she completed his statement, and he was pleased.

"Good. Can you dance?"

"No, why?"

"Nothing. So, what can you do except from talking?"

"Ugh! Now, I hate you even more."

"Cute. Well, I'll pick you up tomorrow."

"W-what? Why?"

He ignored her questions, "Time? 9:00 AM."

"Just answer the damn questions!"

"I have an important meeting in an hour. Stick to the time, and goodbye for now," he said, walking out through the door. Regan was waiting outside already and hurried to get the door when he saw Adrian approaching the car.

When he was gone, she regretted accepting his offer. She knew what she had put herself into, even if she had no idea why he chose her over every other girl in the world, who were dying to get his attention.

"I will pay double the money to have the hall fully booked."

"Look, we have started the decorations already–"

"Okay, I'll pay for everything that cost you."

"Sorry, but I can't give up the hall for you. Our engagement really means a lot to me."

"Then, let the team give it up for auctioning, and let's see who gets it at the end. But I bet you'll lose all your life savings."

"I won't tolerate this from you, Mr Garcia!"

"Accept it, or if you don't mind, we can merge both ceremonies. A double engagement party."

"Much better. I don't mind," Jasper said unhesitatingly.

"I knew you'd agree. Nice doing business with you," Adrian smirked, shoving his right hand for a handshake. Jasper wished to rip-off the smirk on his face, feeling defeated as he slid in his fingers, and they shook manly.

Adrian smiled for the rest of the day as he had gotten two achievements in a day. Everything went as planned.
