Chapter 9 - TEOT 9

"Good morning, Mr Arrogant," Aurora greeted, holding the door for Adrian.

"You're still in your pyjamas?"

"Yeah, why?" she asked nonchalantly.

"I said I was picking you up, silly girl."

"Oh, I forgot. I'll run into the shower now."

"Where is Anastatia? I mean, it's weekend."

She smiled because he acted like he cared.

"She's out with my best friend; Aurelia. We live together, but she's hardly around."

"I see. So, take a quick shower and don't keep me waiting."

"Will you like to have homemade cookies?"

His nose crinkled, "You made them? No, thanks. I have lost my appetite already."

"Predicted. I'll just shower quickly, then prepare to leave."

"Alright," he said, pretending to have heard what she said, then stuffed in his airpods. She darted to the bathroom as fast as her legs could carry, and ensured to lock the door before taking off her clothes.

"Mr Arrogant," she called out the first time, but he didn't respond. Instead, he was humming to a song playing from his Apple Music. She hadn't noticed the airpods until she drew closer and pulled one out, then stuffed it in her ear.

"Hey, blondie! Give it back; I don't share my personal stuffs."

"Oops, sorry. But it's playing my favorite song- Peaches," she said, running away from his reach and singing along.

"That can't be. It's my favorite. Stop singing it, it sounds horrible in your voice."

"Learn to appreciate good things. You can't even sing better than I do."

"Duh, I won't fight with you. Hand over that pair of my airpods, and get into the car."

"Fine," she placed it in his hand.

"Move out, now," he instructed.

"No. You should get out while I lock the door."

"Your house, I almost forgot," he sighed, and walked out. Then she walked behind his back.

"I'm sure it doesn't look anyway like your house," she said, bolting the door.

"You can't even compare," he boasted.

"Whatever. So, where are we going?" she asked.

"First, get into the car."

"Are you kidnapping me?" she asked.

"Yesterday was a serial killer. Today, a kidnapper. Unfortunately, I'm not either of them, but I wished. Just for you."

"Wow. I shouldn't trust you 'cos you could be death of me someday," she said, finally getting into the front seat.

He walked over and hopped on the driver's seat, then started the engine.

"My car, my rules. Remain mute until you're spoken to," he warned as he began the ride. She nodded, and busied herself with her cellphone.

His gaze fell on her while driving and he couldn't help but notice her outfit. She was wearing a similar casual outfit to his.

"Blondie."

"Mr Arrogant."

"Don't call me that stupid name."

"It's your perfect description."

"Anyway, that's not why I drew your attention."

"Then?"

"Why did you wear an all black outfit too?" he asked in an intimidating tone.

"Oh, I thought you'd noticed earlier. Well, I don't owe an explanation. Besides, it's a free world, free dressing inclusively," she said, shutting him up. But the truth was that she imitated him.

Later on, Aurora fell asleep because of cool breeze from the air conditioner.
