Chereads / Bloodmoon Rose: Tsukiyomi No Chi / Chapter 31 - The Requiem Of The Wolf Ring

Chapter 31 - The Requiem Of The Wolf Ring

"A long time ago before the Victorian era, there was a legend. The legend of Rose Bloodmoon. This Legend is a story. Some could say it's true. It's up to you whether to decide if it is or not. This story is told by many. But there are different ways of telling the story. Let me tell you the story my way;

Long ago the world was split into three; humans, demons, and Yokai. the world was at peace. Kingdoms arose, fields of crops spread and all races were in complete Harmony. The royal family, said to be gods and goddesses began to rise as well. Rose Bloodmoon, Soon to be Lady of the heir, was next in line. Legend goes that she was born of all three races and was blessed with a gift of a demigod. Once she was Lady of the heir, she and her Apprentice set off to fulfill her duties. Then, darkness arose. The world began dying. Wild corpses, corrupted, demons and Yokai began to invade and take over, killing everything in sight. Cities Begin to Fall, people begin to die. Plagues and diseases spread. But Rose had a plan. She called in 26 members from different kingdoms and together, they built wall Moonrose, to protect people from the darkness. After many wars, Rose's apprentice passed on. Despite the pain, Rose carried on performing her duties. She kept the balance of life and death, Heaven and Earth, light and darkness. The 26 of the walls Grew Older and eventually passed on. Rose Grew Older as well. Suddenly, one day, Rose was never seen again. Some say she left the walls, no one dared to venture outside. Some say she passed. Others believe the story is merely based on a flower. A cursed flower, a seed, called the Bloodmoon rose. Once Rose was gone, chaos soon arrived within the walls. Wars, racism, horrible things. But somehow, it was resolved. A government formed, races were split and new leaders became. Eventually, the walls were at peace again somewhere accepting, others were not. By now, the human population had decreased by much. The walls are still ruthless and bloodthirsty. Horrid things have been done in the past years. Ever since the walls were built, darkness spread, no one has dared to go outside. The walls are too high to climb and the ground is too solid to dig. No one knows if there are still creatures that roam around. Dragons and serpents have not been seen flying over the walls. Maybe the monsters have destroyed it all. But now, the walls are cracking. Some who believe in Rose say she has fallen ill and is dying. Others think it is the cursed flower wilting away. People are afraid of the darkness. Afraid it will leak in and continue killing. No one is sure what the darkness is or why it kills. Everything in its path only makes it stronger. If Rose were here she could stop it. But this isn't my story anymore. No…This is someone else's story. I'm long gone. This is about my Apprentice. He was my closest friend, my companion. I loved him dearly. Although, he was different. Born a half -yokai and his body born of two anatomies. I accepted him as my royal guard later on, for my younger self was foolish. He was always there. He protected me, taught me. I was young and blind then, not knowing that nothing lives forever. When I lost him, I was devastated. Pierced with a curse. Oh, he was in the last war we fought together in. I know his next life would be hard but he would battle through it. With his own companion. One day, more than a companion. Someone he could share his heart with. A red string that would never break. Whenever I was with him he reminded me of a sparrow. His long black hair would soar through the wind every time we rode the horses to the Palace he was beautiful. I wrote letters addressed to him for when I died, I knew he would find them. I had visions about his future. Some of them made me absolutely sickened and sad. Some made me happy and thankful he had someone by his side. He never left me in my life. So I stayed with him in his last moments. Once I was gone, I continued to see him. But he lived on to his next life. He struggled as a child. He went through terrible and ruthless things. I wish I could have done something for him but I could not. He struggled with his Identity, who he was, his personality, gender, feelings, his voice. At times, It seemed he didn't even have a voice. He was Catatonic. But as he grew, he forgot all the worst things and continued on. Until he met his companion for life. I knew then that that person would spend the rest of their life protecting my Tsuki. My sparrow. Oh, how I miss him dearly. But I have faith that he will follow his heart and find a way out of the walls, seeing that not everything is darkness and has to be hidden away. My Minakami Tsukiyomi.. Please take care..

We will meet again someday soon.

-Rose"

The ship landed outside of the gates of Stephonien, on the edge of wall Primrose. It was guarded by Chi clan members. They had to find a way to sneak in. wall Stephonien was said to have a lot in common with wall Jasmanium, according to Qingse. Both walls were wealthy, well Stephonien was until it lost its beauty. The group had to sneak in, Auquirious would disguise herself as a salesman and ringleader, carrying around her 'slaves'. The disguised group anxiously walked towards the gate. The Chi guards spoke. "Entrance reasoning and identification?"

Auquirious panicked but quickly made something up.

"Sage Solace of…wall Jasmanium! These are my circus freaks! We're performing in this wall and I'm here to visit a man who owes me money!"

"You may enter." Tsuki put his head down as they walked past the Darkian guards. Once they walked through the gates, it was almost beautiful. But that thought of beauty and perfection quickly faded from Tsukiyomi's mind as he saw the Chi clan members roaming the streets of the wall. Some were beating and teasing civilians. Fumes of rage spread through his blood, but he knew he couldn't interfere, couldn't help the poor people. After all, he was just a child. Auquirious lead them into a village, through alley's and into a burned down abandoned home. After there was no one else in sight, they got out of disguise and split up. Karasu and Fukuro went one way around the wall together, Auquirious and Kiri went together and Mei and Qingse went another way. Fukuro would transform if they found the wall artifact or if they were in danger. Either that or they would set off fireworks they were each given by Auquirious. Once everyone left Tadashi and Tsuki, Tsuki didn't budge.

"So you choose this time now only to act stubborn?"

"The Chi clan is out there, Tadashi! If I'm found, I'll never be free again. I can't do this!" Tsuki stepped away from the broken windows where he could be seen.

"We will stay hidden. I can't promise anything won't or will happen though."

A noise came from outside the broken house followed by a harsh voice. Tadashi drew his sword. "HEY, WHOSE IN THERE!"

Tsuki panicked. He drew his katanas from his back. His hands trembled though, so much it was hard to keep the swords still.

"On my count, we run!" Tadashi said quietly. The footsteps and voices got closer.

"One…"

"SHOW YOURSELF!"

They got closer…

"Two…"

COME OUT OR WE'LL KILL YOU!!" Three figures broke through the walls of the broken house. "THERE YOU ARE!!"

"THREE!" Tadashi grabbed Tsukiyomi's hand and they ran up a staircase to the roof of the homes. The clan members chased after them. They reached the roof and Tadashi grabbed Tsuki, pulled him close and held onto him tightly.

"Ready?"

"NO!"

"SORRY!" Tadashi pushed the button on his harness and they glided through the air. Tsuki looked behind them to see the three clan members in anger, left on the roof. He smiled. But the smile quickly faded as one of the men pulled a gun and shit it towards their direction.

"Glide up!"

"What?!"

"Tadashi, just do it!" Tadashi listens and the bullet passes them. Tadashi noticed and understood the situation. Tsukiyomi held on tight, scared of letting go. He still didn't know how to use his harness by himself yet. Tadashi pressed the rope and swung to a building ledge. They landed and Tsuki rushed to the back, keeping away from the edge as much as he could. "They're gonna find us one way or another. I'm just in your way at this point. I have to glide by myself!"

"You're going to try it by yourself?"

"You can't always help me with everything, Tadashi," He looked over the ledge of the high building. He stepped back, took a breath, then jumped. He closed his eyes, the wind hitting his face, he was falling until he pressed his harness. He began to go up. He opened his eyes and landed on the next tall ledge. His heart pounded against his chest so hard that his ribs could crack. The built up fear was slowly being let out, drifting out of his head. Tadashi landed next to him moments later. Tadashi showed him the button that activated the gliding wings on the harness. Tsuki pressed the button and two angel-like wings emerged from the torso part of the harness.

Voices came from behind them, the two turned to see the clan members gliding after them with their own gears. The two quickly escaped the members' quickening pace. They glided across the buildings and swung from the ledges as they were being followed. They hit the edge of the wall. They glided down and ran into a nearby shrine. There were stairs in the shrine that lead underneath the structure. There was nothing but dirt. The clan members ran down the steps and blocked the way back out. "Escapists, Eh? That's against the rules of hide and seek!"

Tsuki gave them a disgusted look.

"This isn't a game!"

"SHUT UP, BITCH! The king is looking for you!!"

Tsuki thought to himself. He was disgusted. Is this how Kibishi's clan members treat everyone? Calling them slurs and harassing them? This is what Kibishi did. He would invade walls and kill everyone except the male yokai and demons and then take them. He would take them and corrupt their minds, brainwash them so that they were copies of him.

One of the clan demon's charged at Tadashi. Tadashi blocks the attack with his sword. A smile forms on the demon's face. "Foolish Human!!" Tadashi's sword suddenly shatters into pieces. The demon chuckles, "Chi swords are made to break human made weapons!" he spoke. The ground beneath Tsuki and Tadashi began to shake, the dirt broke and cracked under Tadashi's feet. Tsuki's pendent glowed. Suddenly, a big blue blade rises from the ground and lands in Tadahsi's hands. It was the Moon blade. It had chosen him. The demon's were confused. Tadashi then charged at them with the blade, cutting off their arms and heads. Tsukiyomi took on the other demon, doing the same. Rose's weapons were made to kill anything in one slice, unless, of course, that being was almost as powerful as her.

The two wiped their swords and ran out of the shrine. They saw the fireworks the group had set off from the other end of the wall. It was from Kiri's group. They had found the Sapphire Wolf Ring, the artifact of the wall. The two headed that way, gliding with their harnesses. Wall Stephonien was smaller so it wouldn't take them long to get to where the fireworks were set off. Tadashi looks at Tsuki as they glide.

"You're doing that face again. What are you thinking about?"

"The letters. Where would we even find them? What if they're not in a bad wall, or stolen at all? What if they weren't taken, but hidden, or forgotten, where would we even look?"

The group eventually all found each other. The ring was put into the Glorophian pouch. Tadashi examined the Moon blade. He wondered why it had chosen him. Mei Lian approached him, intrigued by the blade he held.

The Royal Moon Blade!" She exclaimed, touching the engraved stones and carved crescent edges. This was one of Minakami's weapons in the past. How many more are there?"

"Two," Qingse said to her, "The Moon sickle and the Rose gold broadsword."

Auquirious approaches the group with a question, as she counted in her head. "If we have fourteen more artifacts to find, the letters of Rose, and the rest of the weapons, what walls would we travel to?"

Tadashi answered, "The rest of the artifacts are in Walls Rosebold, Zeniinthean, Aster, Falendgore, Carnation, Helm and Hellena, Fraya, Blacktown, Camilla, Veldonia, Rhodonia, Porsynthia, Claudonia, and Whither."

Tsukiyomi almost didn't even realize whither would have an artifact too. The group decided to get going, it wasn't the safest place with all the Chi clan members roaming around. Tsukiyomi wished he could help the people in this wall. That would happen once Kibishi was dead, right? Once he was dead…And who would kill him, could Tsuki? He felt Tadahsi's hand on his shoulder. Tsuki's thoughts recoil back to getting out of the wall. He wanted to leave as much as everyone else. Mei Lian swayed next to Tsuki, she was happy. "Two artifacts in one day!!"

A figure landed in front of the group. "So my predictions were right!"

Tsukiyomi's heart skipped, his legs went stiff and he froze. The voice of Kibishi filled his head. Chi guards stood next to Kibishi, they all had gear of their own. The ones that Tadashi and Tsuki killed must have somehow told Kibishi Tsuki was here. Mei Lian took one look and charged at him. Her aura had changed completely, her eyes were brought out more by her yokai form. "YOU BASTARD!" She screamed, "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO HURT MY BROTHER!"

But before she could touch him, Kibishi pushed her to the ground. He started laughing as she started to cry. Tsukiyomi wanted to do something but he was frozen.

"So my Mina has a family? You look nothing like him, princess! A full-yokai for a sister? A little midget like you can't save him. I could kill you right here if-"

"Leave her, Kibishi." Tadashi said to him sternly, he drew his blade. Kibishi smiled even wider and approached Tadashi. Qingse rushed over to Mei's side.

"So you're my Mina's precious protector 'Tadashi'. I finally get to speak to you!"

"Tsuki belongs to no one." Tadashi said through his teeth. Kibishi raised a brow.

"'Tsuki'? Are you calling him pet names now as well? Does he already have a new master!"

Tsukiyomi draws his katanas and attempts to attack Kibishi. Kibishi drew his own sword but that attack was blocked by Tadashi's Moon blade. The swords clinked together. Tsuki wanted this to be over, he wanted Kibishi dead, he wanted Tadashi to kill Kibishi. The rest of the group were battling against the other Chi members, fighting them off.

A grunt of pain comes from Tadashi as blood rushes from his chest, it was a small gash but big enough to bleed a lot. He kneels on the ground, holding his wound, and Kibishi kicks him away. Tsukiyomi ran to his side only to get kicked by Kibishi too. Kibishi spit on the both and smiled, slamming his sword in the ground right next to Tsuki's head. "I am no match against you and your little followers. When we meet again, it will be your end, Tadashi. And Mina will once more belong to me. I know your plans, where you are going. I will take you back." Kibishi began to walk off, ignoring his dead clan members. Why was he letting this go so easily? Wasn't he stronger than them all?

"COWARD!" Mei Lian yells, standing up and wiping her tears away. Kibishi turns to look at her, he isn't amused.

"ONLY A COWARD RUNS AWAY FROM THE THINGS THEIR AFTER! As a wall leader, you should know that! But how would someone like you know how to chase after their fate when you killed all of your people. Zeke Darkai was a kind and caring person! Original leader of Darkai, Zeke, took care of his people, he cared! Unlike you! Going around and killing off innocent people and the brainwashing demons and yokai to serve you! PUNY! You are abusing your power as a leader! You're the definition of the devil! Hell, you're probably the reason my brother thinks he's cursed! You damned bastard!!" Kibishi started to walk away. She keeps yelling at him as he leaves. "YOU FUCKING BASTARD! SHAMEFUL COWARD, HOW DARE YOU TURN FROM YOUR OWN KIND! SELFISH, UNWORTHY BEAST! YOU LAY ANOTHER HAND ON MY FAMILY AND I WILL END YOU! DO YOU HEAR ME, KIBISHI!?!" Kibishi had already gone. She began to sob and run to Tsuki, hugging him. "That's why you were gone, those twelve years you were gone. You were taken by that…him. That's why…those scars, the brand..he…he…you didn't leave me."

Tsukiyomi helps Tadashi up and the group goes back to the ship. It was quiet that night. Kiri tended to Tadashi's wounds. They turned in early that night.
