Chapter 6 - A Swear On Rose

A drooping ceiling, mahogany by the color, shielded Tsukiyomi as he woke up. He rolled over, realizing he was on a cot. He wasn't wearing his clothes either. They were replaced with a trench coat. There were bandages wrapped around his leg and a small quilt was covering the rest of him. He looked around him, realizing he was in someone else's home. A hut of some sort. He pulled the blanket of his skin as he noticed someone sitting by a burning fire. They turned to look at Tsuki. "You're awake,"

"Who are you and where am I? And what the hell did you do to me?!" Tsuki panicked. The figure stood up and walked over to him. It became more clear who this person was. It was the same man Tsukiyomi had seen at the weaponry shop back at the market. "All I did was bandage you up. You had some pretty serious wounds," The man said. Tsukiyomi ignored him and tried to get up. "You can't get up yet,"

"Well I'm cold and I don't want to sit here freezing my ass off-" Tsukiyomi began to cough up blood. The man grabbed a rag and wiped away the blood. He then wrapped teh quilt around Tsukiyomi and brought him over to the fire. The man was surprisingly gentle for a huge, scary looking guy. "Why didn't you kill them?" Tsukiyomi asked, staring at the burning flames and feeling the warmth against his body. "I vow to not kill anyone, for in my case, it is wrong. But, they were attacking you and about to-"

"That's enough. It doesn't matter anymore," Tsukiyomi interrupted, gripping onto the quilt tightly. The man knew something was wrong and asked, "This has happened to you multiple times, hasn't it?" Tsukiyomi looked away but could tell the man took his reaction as a 'yes'. So Tsukiyomi changed the subject and asked, "Am I still in Whither?"

"Yes. I wouldn't take someone away from their home unless they wanted to," said the man. Tsukiyomi hid his face in his knees. But he could see the man's hand reaching for his shoulder. And as soon as the man's arm was close enough, Tsukiyomi attacked. It was self defense. He jumped onto the man, pinning him against the floor. Tsukiyomi saw his dagger near the fire and took it, aiming it at the man's neck. He could see the man's face better now in the light of the fire. He didn't look scared at all, just surprised. "You are the one from the shop. That's the dagger you bought. A hooked, blackblade dagger isn't the best for fighting but a good weapon for harm. That's why your wound is bad. You could've Died if you were stabbed any closer to your calf muscle in your leg. It's bleeding again so you should settle down. It'll be better by tomorrow." said the man. He was right, the wound was bleeding again. Tsukiyomi got off of him, dropping the dagger and scooting back into the darkness. The man spoke up and introduced himself. "My name is Okami Tadashi. I'm a traveler and a blacksmith. I've been in Whither for about three weeks." Tsukiyomi, still so stubborn and rude, replied with, "I don't remember asking. You didn't have to help me. I didn't need any help. Besides, you can't trust anyone in Whither, so you don't know if I'm bad either."

The man smiled anyway despite Tsukiyomi's rude gesture and he said, "Someone once said to me, the only way to trust someone is by looking into their heart." Tsukiyomi scoffed, "Well, I'm sleeping. I honestly don't have time to care what you do to me. I'll just wait another day for this miserable life to end." He dragged himself back onto the cot, wrapping the quilt around him tighter. The man then said, "I swear on Rose,I won't."

On Rose, huh? That's a pretty big promise then. Tsukiyomi might just have to keep an eye on this guy.
