It seemed like an hour before Tsukiyomi had finished his tea. Something was on his mind. Meanwhile, Tadashi had set out a cot and quilt. "I apologize, for this is all I have-" Tadashi began to say but was interrupted by Tsukiyomi who began to take his boots and cloak off. "Better than what I've slept on."
Tadashi watched as Tsukiyomi took off his cloak and hood. He watched the pitchblack hair fall onto Tsukiyomi's back. He pulled the small rope from his hair and let the rest fall. He could care less at this point. Tsukiyomi flopped himself onto the cot as Tadashi began to light a fire in the fireplace. "If I'm not mistaken, you never told me your name." said Tadashi. Tsukiyomi rolled his eyes but proceeded to answer, "It's Tsukiyomi. Minakami Tsukiyomi." Tadashi sat back over at the tea table. "Tsukiyomi.." he said, "The name of the moon god. It fits." Tsukiyomi smiled slightly. No one had complimented him so easily like that before. "Thanks and if I remember correctly, your Tadashi." Tadashi nodded his head. Tsukiyomi laid his head against the cot. There was no pillow but he didn't care. "Tadashi, then, tell me about yourself. I'm bored." said Tsukiyomi. But in fact he wasn't bored, he was curious. So Tadashi spoke. "Well, I'm eighteen and I consider myself a marksman and a traveler. I've been almost everywhere in Moonrose with my father. Until he sadly passed away. Attacked by a yokai king. It's a faint memory. I was then taken in by a demon named Himo who had an adopted daughter of her own. She was elderly but raised me well. I was young when my father taught me how to use many weapons. I eventually started traveling on my own. I will fight off anything that tries to attack me or any innocent others. And you?" Tsukiyomi sighed and sat up. He would have to leave out the 'being half-yokai' part of his life story. "I'm fifteen. I don't remember much about my past and I tend to forget a lot. But I think I was abandoned by my parents when I was younger and was then taken in by demons or something. I was left to roam around the wall Whither alone. I was-" he paused as a painful memory came back to him. A horrible memory. Uncontrollable tears rushed down his face. "What happened?" Tadashi asked. And Tsukiyomi proceeded with his story. "I vaguely remember being attacked by humans who brutally beat me almost to death. I think it's because I'm different. I'm not normal. I'm..I've been labeled intersex by many who have looked over this body. I'm often mistaken as a woman but I know I'm a man! And I'm mistaken and it often gets me stuck in awful situations..I don't even remember how old I was when these things happened." Tsukiyomi paused to wipe his tears. It was embarrassing, especially in front of someone else. "I've been alone for as long as I can remember. And it seems that everyone Iove keeps leaving. I'm being chased down by the people who hate me. I..went back to the other side today. Everyone of them was dead…killed by those damn hunters. I regret everything! It should've been me." Tsukiyomi lowered his head.
"I'm sorry. I'm sure everything will be alright." said Tadashi, trying to reassure Tsukiyomi. But He lashed out. "It should've been me!!" he yelled. Tsukiyomi hid his face with his hands but Tadashi lowered them, wiping away his tears. Tsukiyomi wanted to slap away Tadashi and say 'Don't Touch me' but he couldn't seem to form the words.
"I understand now why you get defensive. And I apologize for anything I've done to make you uncomfortable." said Tadashi. Tsukiyomi wiped away his tears. "You didn't do anything. It isn't your fault-" and before Tsukiyomi could finish, Tadashi had put his arms around Tsukiyomi. For the first time, in a long while, Tsukiyomi felt safe. Being held by warm hands made him feel like nothing could hurt him. Nothing could get him. And he wasn't bothered by it at all. "Almost everyone I've known has disappeared. They've all died. That's why I chose to be alone because it seems I'm a curse." said Tsukiyomi as Taqdashi let go and went back over to the fire that was now slowly dying.
"Well, if you're on the run and are constantly getting hurt then clearly you need someone by your side. What if I help you?" Tadashi suggested.
"No." Tsukiyomi said, flopping down on the cot and wrapping himself in the quilt.
"I'll let you think about it. Stay in the morning, I'll make some truffles for breakfast." Tsukiyomi stared at the ceiling, thinking about what Tadashi had said. Maybe he did need someone to talk to. Someone to listen. Although, he eventually nodded off. He decided he would stay in the morning.
