Chapter 29 - Disturbance within the Marathon Test

Atop the heavens of the military fortress Anfang, there dwells a warship. It was the Triton-Class Battlecruiser known as Fang, and it was the capital ship of the fortress.

The warship currently contained all of the instructors and captains within the fortress. It was conducting the surveying and observation of the current recruits of the year. It serves as the platform for the captains and training officers to observe and facilitate the recruits to their training regiments.

But, of course, as always, a disturbance always emerges in the moment of peace.

*TRRHMM!!!* *TRRHMM!!!* *TRRHMM!!!*

Within the command room of the warship, all sirens were blaring throughout the ship. The personnel within the command room were doing everything they could to assess the situation before them, and soon, a figure entered the command room.

It was none other than the Admiral of the warship. He was an old man with a long beard almost reaching his chest. He wasn't incredibly buff like the others within the fortress, yet his monocle displayed his intellect and wisdom.

He entered the room with a serious expression plastered on his face. The Admiral sat on the chair before his desk and questioned. "What happen? Give me the report of the situation."

After questioning what had happened, the Admiral ordered the personnel to report the situation. One of the workers stood up and calmly reported what had happened.

"An emergency has been detected, Admiral."

"We detected a huge disturbance within the marathon test, specifically the second biome, Dark Forest."

Hearing the personnel, the Admiral nodded in understanding and stated. "Continue on."

The personnel nodded and continued on the report.

"The detected disturbance is the disappearance of a couple dozens of Gigantis Kryftis within the dark forest. We have placed a tracker in each one of them, and what it displayed is somewhat strange."

"The Gigantis Kryftis seemed to perform a encirclement against something. In itself, the fact they had done such a thing is somewhat surprising."

The personnel remarked as the Admiral calmly expressed. "That is surprising. Gigantis Kryftis are known to be cowards because of their heightened senses. I can't believe they have performed an encirclement."

The reason why the Gigantis Kryftis were included in the marathon test was because of their innate cowardice. They would rarely jump out in the open to attack anyone. At first, they would observe and assess the situation before them.

"If the Gigantis Kryftis did perform an encirclement. Then that would mean that something must have happened to force them into such an unnatural state." The Admiral continued on with his opinion regarding the report.

"That is what we initially thought. But the problem appears to be bigger than that, Admiral." The personnel said, which resulted in the Admiral squinting eyes. "What do you mean by that?"

The personnel gulped since the pressure of the Admiral shrouded the entirety of his body. It took a while for him to answer his question.

"The encirclement was detected at the southwest of the dark forest. But that wasn't the only location where the disappearance of the monsters happened."

"In the northwest of the dark forest, a couple dozens of Gigantis Kryftis had disappeared. And unlike the southwest, we don't know what had happened to them."

"We suspected it to be an intruder. Something that isn't a Gigantis Kryftis"

"It must have been brought here as an egg during the organizing process of the monsters. It probably easily grew because it was highly dominant in the flimsy ecosystem of the dark forest."

That was the explanation they had regarding the situation, and the report concluded after the personnel's last words.

The Admiral was forced into deep thought since the situation before him was highly problematic. He clenched his fist and smacked his table in anger. "Why aren't those bastards from the testing department always lax and troublesome!"

"N-No need to get angry, Admiral."

"Even if it is a highly capable monster, it shouldn't be a problem with the training officers we have within the warship." Another personnel nervously stated, though the Admiral shook his head and disagreed.

"I learn not to underestimate anything troublesome."

"Even with the training officers, I have no doubt that the monster would become problematic sooner or later. We need to take it down before it harms any recruits."

The Admiral wanted to have the marathon test continue on without any delay. The announcement of the monster would spell the hindrance of the marathon test. To quietly deal with it was the only way for them to continue the marathon test without a problem.

"Then, what does the Admiral suggest?"

"Who's the training officer we are going to send to handle that monster?"

The personnel calmly questioned while the Admiral was trapped under the plague of his thoughts. It took a while for him to get out of his trance and answer the question the personnel asked.

"It would be better to only have one person handle the monster."

"If many training officers go down, it would be noticeable and would certainly not be quiet."

"Is there anyone capable of handling that monster alone? What about Phaton? Can he handle it?" The Admiral was quietly mumbling to himself after answering the personnel's question.

A lady then appeared out of nowhere, and it was the one who had previously talked with Phaton. The lady walked through the command room and arrived before the Admiral with a grin plastered on her face.

"I heard that there was trouble."

"Yes, a troublesome monster manage to penetrate through." The Admiral answered as the lady's grin kept getting higher and higher.

"I heard that you want to find a powerful individual that could easily and quietly handle that monster. I have someone that I can recommend. She is quite young, but she is certainly capable."

The lady expressed, and the Admiral carefully thought about her words. She was someone trustworthy and had a good reputation. She wouldn't recommend someone weak and bad for no reason.

"If the lady is willing to help, then I'll accept your aid." The Admiral gave an answer while the lady kept grinning. "Good, it looks like we have a deal."

Meanwhile, below the Triton-Class Battlecruiser, a young fat man was treading through the dark forest with a widened gaze. He was surprised, despite staring at nothing but air. Though others couldn't see it, he was looking at the report after picking the devour option.

And what he had seen was something he couldn't believe. The number was something he had never thought of reaching this speed.

In any case, his name was Dante Regent Astarte, the third son of Astarte. It looks like, despite being exiled, he was still a troublemaker along with his minion, a Gigantis Kryftis named Roshan.

"Oh, God. What the h*ll is this number? How can I reach something this fast?"

"Am I a rich man in terms of experience and biomass? Hehehe, I wonder if I could use some of it." Dante was having a hard time containing himself, but it was understandable as the current number of his experience and biomass wasn't something to be ignored.

In simple terms, he had a lot of those two.
