The two men kept each other company. It was almost 5 days that they stayed inside of the Asylum. Most of the time it would be in silence until Wen would get bored and start ranting his mouth off. As much as the doctor acted like he hated it, he was filled with small delight when the man would talk about insignificant and random things.
The taller man had an idea, he was bored and honestly, with all the bodies in the asylum sitting around and rotting, the place began to stink. They both were too scared to go outside and so they had to make the asylum their territory.
He also had another reason, he had never been back to the room where Ethan had died and he felt bad for just leaving his body. "Why don't we clean this place up... and give the people a proper funeral."
"Why? They won't care, they are dead." He was sitting on the cot in his room, chomping on chips.
"Because it will honor what little life they have lived."
"So your one of those people." Wen rolled his eyes. He was happy staying on this floor, not doing work and he didn't want to give it up just because some dead bodies were lying around.
"C'mon, it'll be simple, we just need to gather up the dead bodies." Wen sighed as he was dragged away. Guess it was inevitable.
~~~(>0<)~~~A few hours later~~~(>0<)~~~
They finally had all the bodies packed up, Wen dusted off his hands and skipped over to the doc. "Hey, Labcoat, What'cha doin'?"
The doctor ignored him. It seemed he was lost in his own world. The man was staring at one of the bodies on the floor. Wen looked to where his eye's were trained and found a young man with black hair, his eyes were closed.
The impulse to whisper in the mans ear filled Wen and he leaned over to the doctors face. The doctor, on the other hand, turned his head when he felt a presence. The man jumped back making Wen chuckle. "Look at you, what's wrong? Thought I was gonna kiss you?"
"Back off." He scowled before looking at the listless body of the dead man.
"Who's that? Your boyfriend?" A mischevious smile played on Wen's lips. His smile faltered when the doctor reached out and pinched one of Wens cheeks. "Hey-, that's harrassment. You should join him if your gonna be that way."
"Tch." The doctor turned to look and the dead man. "Maybe I should."
"I-" Wen stepped back stuttering. "What-, whats wrong with you, don't do that!"
"You just told me too and now your contradicting yourself?" The doctor deadpanned. Wen hit the doctor in the back but he was to weak to even make the man stumble. "I was joking, dumba*s!"
The doctor shook his head and stood up. Wen fanned his nose which was covered by the gas mask, "Let's leave... this place stinks."
"You can leave, I want to do something." Wen was already gone by the time the words 'you can' reached his ears.
The doctor picked up Ethan's limp body. He was light and cold, his body had barely started rotting but the heavy smell of blood was stuck onto him.
He took him to an empty lab and set the man's body on the table. The doctor stared at Ethan for a while, brushing the hair out his face. "I'm sorry I didn't come earlier..."
The doctor was about to touch his face before he put his hands down. Now that he looked at it, it was really strange. Why did only Wen and him survive out of the whole facility? He glanced at Ethan.
And the strange mangled person they saw outside. They had glowing yellow eyes, just like Ethan before he died. "Fu*k, Is this the apocalypse?"
The man stood up and raised Ethan's eye lid. His eye was glassed over but the iris was still shining a bright yellow. He was staring so hard at his eyes that when the eye moved to look at him he almost didn't notice.
He stepped back. "What the-"
The dead man's eyes followed him. The doctor grew curious. He moved to the left. The eyes followed. Then to the right. The eyes also followed. 'He can see?'
"Hello... Ethan." The man's eyes followed the movement of his lips. "Can you hear me?"
He saw the dead man turn his head and swallow. He felt he needed to write this down. Maybe he could save Ethan. Maybe he could save everyone.
