On a Saturday evening, Lucas was in the kitchen helping his mom make dinner.
"You know you don't have to do anything right," Love said as Lucas placed the pot of water on the stove, "I know but, I have nothing to do. Jun went out to wherever he went, Chloé was over at her friend's house and Dad went out with Nari." He replied turning on the stove.
His mom chuckled, "You know Lucas, you should go out more." "You are a teenager after all, and you need to live your life to the fullest." She told him, "Take me for example, In my teenage days I partied, drank, fought, and constantly gossiped." She stated, Lucas chuckled. He couldn't believe his mom did all of that, but then again she was the type too. "I'm sure all of those stuff are fun but, I'm not that type of person ma." He smiled, Love shook her head followed by a sigh.
"You just like your father," she said, "he never did anything fun, all he did was stay in the house and work left and right." "The only time he attended a party was prom and another party where he cheated on me with some random girl." She remarked, Lucas turned to her surprised and shocked. Cheating! His dad didn't look like a person either, also by the way his head over heels for Love you wouldn't think he would cheat. "Cheat?!" Lucas asked, "Well it wasn't basically cheating because we weren't together, but kissing a random girl while we had things going on between us was like cheating to me." She said. Lucas let out a little laugh. It was fun hearing about what his parents were like as teenagers.
They continued their little chat as they continued making the dinner before everyone got home. Lucas enjoyed being in the kitchen with his mom, not only did they gossip above his father. Love also told him all the things that went on between the friend group. Not only did he enjoy the tea, but he also enjoyed hanging out with his mother. It felt like he was growing an even deeper connection with her.
When he was cutting up some peppers Lucas out of nowhere asked, "When did you realize that you loved Dad and wanted to spend the rest of your life with him?" "Oh wow, that's a really deep question," she chuckled. "Umm.." she took a moment to think.
"When he came back from a month-long leave," she said with a smile on her face. "Huh?" "Well it was a month before summer break, that was also his last year of high school. After final exams he left for Korea and Thailand, to visit your grandparents." "After two days of him leaving, my heart felt so empty. It felt like there was a hole in my heart that needed to be filled, I waited days for him to come back and he was a no-show. I Called and texted but that was no help because of the time difference, and that made my loneliness worse." She elaborated.
"After a month he came back, and I was nothing but overjoyed. There was nothing better than seeing the guy I longed for stand at my door in the middle of the night." "That was also the same day of our 6 months anniversary, and also the day he asked me to prom filling my room with lavish items and taking me out on a date," "That was the day I realized that I couldn't live without out this men and he was the love of my life. The way he held me in his arms and kissed me under the cloudy night sky, made me think that I never want to let this man go." "I didn't want anyone else to have him except for me, and I didn't want anyone to have me except for him." She stated.
Lucas stood frozen trying to process everything. He was amazed, by his mom's words. "He really made you feel that way?" He asked, "Yes, I actually felt like I was going to die of loneliness if I didn't see him. I even thought of following him to Korea." She told him, "Seems like you had the perfect teenage love ma." He said, "I guess so." She smiled shrugging her shoulders. Love looked up at Lucas and smiled, "If you have someone you feel this way for, don't be afraid to show it, sweetheart. Love is the most painful thing but, if you're sure that the person you feel this way for shares the same feelings don't be afraid to show your love." He told him.
Lucas chuckled shaking his head, "I wish I could ma." He nervously laughed it off and went back to cutting onions. Maybe he wasn't just ready to tell his mom about his true self.
"Did someone break your heart?" She asked, Lucas shook his head in response. "Good, if someone ever does come tell and I'll smack them." She said, Lucas cackled at the thought.
30 minutes as they were halfway through cooking dinner, Davian was back with the girls and Jun. "We're back!" They rejoiced as they met Lucas and Love in the kitchen. "Look what appa bought me Ma!" Nari said showing Love a semi-big Hello Kitty plushie. "That's cut, sweetheart. You should go and put it in your room so it doesn't get dirty." She told her. Nari smiled and ran upstairs to keep her Plushie. "Jun, you're back too." She said, "Yeah, I was done with the thing I needed to do so I asked uncle to come and pick me up." He replied, "How was it?" She asked, "Horrible!" He exaggerated. "That bad?" "Yes!"
"You too have no shame at all!" Lucas blurted out, "I'll fill you in later." Jun giggled as he ran upstairs. "Where's Stacy?" She asked Davian, "She went straight upstairs the second we walked in." He said, "I think it's that time of the month." He whispered. "Aww, my poor baby." She said taking off her apron. "Help Lucas out Honey." She said as she ran upstairs.

Later that same night at Evelyn's house
Elizabeth is in the kitchen grabbing a drink from the fridge. She let out a big sigh as she closed the fridge door, "being pregnant is so hard!" She mumbled under her breath. She took a sip of her water and looked down at her belly. She smiled and patted it as the baby kicked. "Don't worry little one, mommy loves you." She said.
As she was peeling some apples Evelyn came downstairs her eyes locked on her phone. When her mom saw her she crossed her arms and shook her head. "If you don't look at where you're going you're going to bump into something." She said, Evelyn stopped and looked up at her mom. "Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" Elizabeth asked, "Mom, it's literally 9:34." Evelyn said, "about time for you to go sleep." She remarked, "I'll go to sleep at 11, it's summer break so I don't need to sleep early." Evelyn stated, "You know what, that's up to you." Elizabeth said grabbing the plate of peeled apples.
"When you're done with whatever you're going to do, don't forget to turn off all the lights." "I love you and good night." She said walking past her and going upstairs. "Love you too Mom," Evelyn said with a big smile on her face.
Josh was in the room doing something on his computer as Elizabeth walked in. "Did you find what you need?" Josh asked, "No, but I got some apples." She replied locking the door behind her, "Should I get you some tomorrow?" He asked. Elizabeth shook her head in response, "I won't be in the mood for it." She said. She sat on the bed eating her apples as she unpacked the TV. Josh turned in his chair facing her and sighed.
"Are you okay sweetheart?" He asked as he stood up and walked to her. "Why wouldn't I," she said, "you have been looking angry for this whole week." He told her, Elizabeth sighed and took a deep breath in. "Am I a bad parent?" She suddenly asked, "What?!" "I mean the way I act towards Evie, is it too harsh?" She asked, "No, why?" "Then why is she this way, her grades are dropping Tremendously, she's recording her private intimacy, and sneaking out." She layed it out, "is it because I'm being very strict?"
Josh grabbed her hand and shook his head. "That's teenager stuff, she will go into maturity." He said, "We also weren't perfect as teenagers, we had so many flaws back in our days than she has." He remarked, "No, I was nothing like this. Having sex and recording it!" She stated, "Having sex is not a problem with me, as long as she's having protected sex and she's only having it with one person and also not recording it." She remarked. "Don't stress too much about it babe, after that talk with her I think she has learned her lesson." He said.
"I hope so." She sighed as he grabbed a piece of apple and munched on it.
