*Erik POV*
I coughed water out of my lungs and opened my eyes to the sight of Vanessa pressing down on my chest.
“Oh, thank God you’re alive!” she cried and fell on me. I felt warm tears run down my neck. “I thought that Louise tricked us and killed you … you weren’t breathing for at least three minutes … I thought…”
I hugged her back tightly. “It is alright … I’m fine thanks to you. We are both fine. Who knows what might have happened in there if you had not intervened and I had ended up releasing that spirit.”
The second I mentioned Louise and felt a cold presence inside me. It was faint but there was no way I could miss it; like a little chill breeze next to the warm embers that was my wolf. I could not exactly hear his voice or thoughts, but I felt them as though they rubbed against the side of my head.
I shook my head, trying to rid myself of the feeling. The spirit was still there, but dimmer. It wasn’t at the forefront of my mind any longer.
