ERIK POV
They dragged me deep into the forest, away from other onlookers. I tried to wriggle out of their grasp as soon as the forest swallowed us up, but they were both incredibly strong.
I sneered in my mind. Just as I expected, as long as I participated in the festival, I’d be sure to keep them distracted.
Once they were satisfied that we were far enough away from the rest of everyone else, they threw me to the forest floor. I crumbled against the hard dirt, putting my hands out to try and push myself up from the ground. A boot dug into my back, forcing me back down into the dirt.
“What shall we do with him?” Hawke said from above me.
“Anything. I can’t believe he embarrassed us like that.”
There we go. Why would I expect anything different from them.
I lowered my eyes, and said in a voice that sounded trembling. “What… did I even do to you?”
