Chapter 3 - Chapter - 3

A strong wind woke me up, and I started to feel hot all over my body. Did I get a fever?

Ugh, now I don't know how I'm going to college.

Wait! It almost feels like I'm sleeping on the road.

Confusion was all over my face. Crap, why is my stomach growling so loudly, like I haven't even eaten in two days?

What's happening to me? Why am I feeling strange?

I'm feeling dizzy all over my head. I can't seem to focus on anything.

When my eyes started to focus again after a lot of difficulty. I realised that I was actually sleeping on the road and not in my room, on my bed.

What the actual crap is this?

Does my mom or dad prank me or something like that? No, it can't be. They can never do something like this to me. I'm their beloved daughter.

What is this place?

I slowly got up with difficulty and inspected my body. And I noticed that I'm not wearing my pyjamas, but rather a salwar suit. And I'm looking so dirty.

I'm feeling like going crazy. I shook my head as I started to feel throbbing pain all over my head.

Not only that, but I slowly started to think, am I kidnapped? But I'm in the middle of nowhere. The surroundings look like I'm in a rural area. It's almost like a village.

Did my kidnappers give me a knockout injection and bring me here?

All the things in my head gave me goosebumps. Mom, dad, where are you? Tears are already starting to form around my eyes.

I looked around and saw a small house and a cement bench. I slowly walked over there and sat on it, and began to think about my current situation

Despite the fact that the clothes I'm wearing now are not mine, my body is intact, and aside from hunger and fatigue, I have no problems or pains. There is one thing I need to confirm, however. Let me confirm, however. I slowly squeezed my thighs together to feel that my lower body didn't hurt, and to my relief, I hadn't been raped. This realisation almost brought tears to my eyes.

Okay, so I'm not being assaulted or something, and I checked my neck to feel the presence of my chain, but nothing. Huh? Where? Where did it go?

I lost my chain. Did I lose it? I got up and frantically started to search my surroundings. Where is it? Mom and dad would kill me if I went home without the chain.

So? My kidnappers stole my chain, threw me here, and ran off.

What were my parents up to when I was abducted? And what am I doing at that time?

This must be a dream, right?

How silly of me; all this time I've been dreaming and didn't even know it.

I never dreamed of such a fantasy in my life.

I just have to wake up now. I pinched my wrist hard to wake myself up from the dream.

But then nothing happened. What?? No, this can't be happening. I thought as my breathing became rapid. And pinched my wrist hard again.

Why? Why? Why am I not waking up? She badly wants it to be a dream. But unfortunately, it's not.

Her wrists became red and painful after being pinched several times.

Finally, I gave up, accepted the reality, and started staring into the sky without any aim.

I need some water. My throat is as parched as ash. I thought about it and began to look around again.

I can't find anything to drink here. There are no shops here. The view is mostly deserted, with only a few independent buildings visible.

I'll just ask the people in the house for some water. I think they don't mind.

I thought about it and opened the gate, entering the veranda. I knocked on the door and patiently waited.

A middle-aged woman opened the door and looked at me in confusion.

"What do you want, dear?" she asked while looking at me gently

"I don't know where I am, can I have some water, aunty?" I asked nervously, afraid she'd shut the door in my face. "Sure, dear, just a minute," she said as she went to get the water.

I noticed that her clothing was unusual. It's just a sari, but it kind of looks old-fashioned—way too old-fashioned. I quickly brushed it off and started to peek inside the house.

Not only the lady, but the entire house is out of date. Everything in here is 20 years out of date.

I quickly stepped back a little when I noticed her returning. She poured me some water.

I quickly took the glass, as if someone was going to take it away from me. I gulped the water and finished the glass, but it still didn't quench my thirst. The lady's eyes had a worried expression as she saw my behaviour.

Do you want more, dear? She asked me, but I'm embarrassed to ask any more. But she still slightly nodded at her, and she went back to get some more.

That's when I noticed a landline phone on the tea table.

Who even uses landlines now?

An idea popped into my head. When she returns, I must borrow a phone from her to call my family. Mom and dad must be worrying about me.

The lady came back with a second glass full of water for me. Only after finishing the glass did I feel a little better.

"Aunty, I'm actually lost, and I don't know where I am. Can I please borrow your phone for a minute to call my parents?" I asked timidly

"Phone?, what's that?" I don't know what to say after hearing her

There are actually people who still don't know about phones. Is she living under a rock?

It's okay; by looking at her house, it's clear that they're still living the old traditional way, so I can't complain. I need to be a little more patient with her.

"It's an electronic device, we can use it to talk to others and can send messages like letters,"I tried my best to explain to the best of my knowledge, but all went in vain when her face were full of confusion

I focused on the calendar that was right next to the door. It states that the year is 1984. WHAT??

My mind was yelling that there was a problem with everything, so I tried to convince myself that my memory was not at all functioning.

Something's happening to my brain. Endless memories started to enter my head all of a sudden.

The throbbing pain in my head intensified, everything around me turned black, and then I fainted.

To be continued…..
