Chapter 13 - Cinema

In the bedroom:

Light beads of sweat streaked across Goku's face as he sat in the room. Bulma was next to him with a serious expression.

The room was spacious. It had a crib filled with various toys, such as stuffed animals, dolls and others. Bulma's father, Dr. Briefs, had eagerly purchased most of the toys.

The walls of the room were yellow. Bulma had decided to keep them this way until they knew the sex of the baby. There were a couple of photos and pictures on the walls, many of them featuring Goku and Bulma smiling or making funny faces. On another wall was a closet filled with clothes for the future baby. Bulma had even bought clothes for when the child was older.

Bulma had decorated the room herself, wanting to make it a personal and special space for her baby. Goku had set up the crib at Bulma's request. The structure wasn't too complex and he was able to do it without much difficulty.

"You got this, Goku," Bulma mumbled, as she touched his shoulder.

"Just do this and you're done," she said with a smile, while he concentrated on his task. Goku was changing a plastic baby's diaper. They had been practicing almost every day to gain mastery over the subject. In just a couple of months, Goku would be a pro.

"You got it, Goku!" exclaimed Bulma, jumping with joy. Goku smiled, scratching the back of his neck. "This time it only took you twelve minutes to change her diaper," Bulma noted.

"Hehehe, the first time it took me two hours and you fell asleep while doing it," Goku mentioned with a nervous smile. Bulma smiled in response.

They both looked at each other with a smile and turned their eyes to the crib. It seemed like they were both having the same thought judging by their expressions. It was time to find out.

"I'm starving! / We should go to a clinic," they both spoke in unison. Bulma smiled dangerously upon hearing what Goku said.

"You better speak 101," Goku said nervously, seeing the dark aura of his friend Bulma. Not even thirty minutes had passed since they had eaten.

"I said that we could go to a clinic for an ultrasound," Bulma said, looking out the window. "It's about time we know if the baby will be a boy or a girl. What do you think?"

"Cool! I want him to be a boy so I can train him and for her to be as strong as I am," said Goku with a smile, rolling up his sleeves, revealing part of his biceps.

Bulma couldn't help but laugh at seeing her friend make such a comical gesture. As always, Goku managed to make her smile, even when she didn't feel like it.

"Then we'll go right away. Wait for me outside; I'll get some things." Bulma spoke, and the black-haired man nodded with an excited smile. "But first... Could we eat a little bit? It's just that I'm really hungry, and I don't think I'll be able to hold out." Bulma arched an eyebrow, seeing the seriousness in Goku's gaze.

Bulma's eyes turned into flames of fire, and a dark aura enveloped her completely, making her angry.

"Oops... I think I shouldn't have spoken," the black-haired man gulped when he saw how Bulma approached him hostilely. "Wait... NOOO!!"

Time after:

Goku was waiting in the outer courtyard, sitting on a bench. There were several bumps on his head, and some bruises on his face.

"Bulma is dangerous," the black-haired man, with comic tears in his eyes, said to himself in his mind.

From now on, he would have to start weighing his words if he wanted to avoid situations like that. Sure, that would be difficult for Goku... "I'm already Goku," Bulma's voice rang out, and the black-eyed man saw her blue-eyed, stranded friend walk out of the Capsule Corp's front door and walk towards him.

Bulma wore a black shirt along with a black skirt and white tennis shoes. Her lips were infused with crimson lipstick, and she had pearl earrings in her ears. She was the definition of beauty.

"How do I look?" Bulma asked with her hands resting on her waist. Goku looked around before pointing his index finger at himself. "Yes Goku. Who else do you see here? I was asking you."

"Well, there are birds, ants, worms, and..." The boy swallowed hard as he saw Bulma's angry face again.

"LOL!" Bulma laughed when she saw Goku's act and approached him. "Let's go, this time we will walk. It would not be suitable for me to go in your flying cloud," added the girl.

"Why not take Bulma's flying cloud? That way we'll be able to get there much faster and arrive as soon as possible," replied the black-haired man, making a comic pout. He wanted to ride on her flying cloud.

"BECAUSE I'M SIX MONTHS PREGNANT!" Bulma yelled, her vein of anger visible. The black-haired man took several steps back.

"Besides, I've already dressed up enough for the occasion. If we go on your flying cloud, it will mess up my hair," Bulma explained, frowning slightly.

"I think I understand," replied the boy, scratching the back of his neck. "So we're walking then?"

"Yes, Goku, don't bother," Bulma replied. "I promise we'll have fun. Come on, let's go."

Bulma wrapped her arm around Goku's and they left the house, heading towards the clinic. This day was going to be very important for both of us.

Goku's point of view:

We were walking down the street towards the clinic. Today we would find out whether the baby was a boy or a girl. Goku really hoped it would be a boy.

I didn't understand why Bulma was holding onto my arm, but it didn't bother me either. In fact, it felt quite comfortable. Several people stopped to look at us as we passed - men and women, old and young. I greeted them with a smile and they returned the greeting.

"Hey!" I turned around at the sound of Bulma's slight yell. "Don't greet anyone or they'll think you're crazy."

"But Bulma..." I complained with a gasp and swallowed hard at the sight of Bulma's gloomy face.

I had to do what was necessary to avoid upsetting her, or else I would be the one who would pay the consequences.

We walked for a few moments and Bulma turned around several times to see if I was obeying her or not. I had no choice but to listen to her if I didn't want her to hit me.

I saw a billboard with an image of a hamburger on it and stopped to look at it. My stomach started rumbling as I gazed at the poster.

"No way, Goku. Wait until we're out of the clinic and then I'll think about whether we can eat something or not," Bulma mentioned with a frown. "And don't give me that sad puppy look, I assure you it doesn't work on me anymore." A pout formed on my face at Bulma's words and we continued walking. Bulma was being very cruel - I just wanted to eat a little bit and she wouldn't let me.

Will the child be a boy or a girl? That question had been on my mind for several hours. I hoped it would be a boy, but first we had to get to the clinic to find out.

I remembered that the clinic was only a few meters away, so if we kept walking at this pace, we would get there in a couple of minutes.

Bulma's point of view:

Great, the clinic wouldn't open for another two hours. We were standing at the entrance to the healthcare facility, which it turns out doesn't open for a few hours.

"I knew it was too early..." I murmured, letting out a sigh and dropping my shoulders in defeat. Yes, we were unlucky.

"Oh my, then we'll have to wait," Goku spoke, also sighing. One option to wait would be to eat somewhere, but I was going to stick to my word.

We could have gone to a hospital, but the closest one was several kilometers away. The doctor had warned me not to endanger the baby's health with sudden movements, so using Goku's flying cloud or taking an ultra-modern plane was out of the question. In addition, with the traffic jam in the center, we wouldn't be able to get there by car, so we had to wait no matter what.

The doctor had also recommended that I eat cooked, fresh, or grilled food and avoid roasts and fats on my last visit. He had also said to avoid overeating sweets and pastries, so whenever Goku and I went out to eat, he always asked for the bare minimum of cakes.

"So what do we do, Bulma?" Goku asked doubtfully and I directed my right hand towards my chin, thinking. "What if...?"

"How about we go see a movie in the meantime?" I suggested with a smile, and Goku swallowed his words. I knew full well that he was going to suggest going to a restaurant.

I know you so well, Goku!

"A movie? I don't know, isn't it a bit boring?" Goku mentioned, letting out a yawn. He knew that I wasn't a fan of watching TV.

"We'll go this time. I don't see any other way to wait for two hours until the clinic opens," I added, and Goku nodded with a sigh. Ha!

More later:

We were at the cinema entrance, looking for a movie that would be entertaining for both of us.

Of course, romance movies are never shown at this time in the morning. They're probably showing one of those boring ones.

Well, I selected one at random. "Jurassic Park" is what the movie was called. From the title, I thought the movie was about two teenage cavemen who fell in love with each other. Oh, how romantic that sounded.

"Two tickets please," I told the ticket seller boy and he gave them to me immediately. "Thank you," I added with a smile.

Goku and I walked into a spacious room and sat in the front seats. I ordered several bowls of popcorn (because of Goku's insatiable appetite) and several sodas for Goku as well.

The doctor had told him to avoid carbonated and sugary drinks whenever possible. I had already had some soda this morning and having more wouldn't be a good thing.

There were not many people in the room, probably around fifteen to twenty people maximum. Well, at that time in the morning, it was normal.

"I think these glasses don't suit me," said Goku, as both he and I had 3-D glasses to watch the movie.

"Quiet, Goku. With these glasses, we'll enjoy the movie better, I assure you," I spoke, holding back my laughter. "Look, the movie is already starting."

Fifty-nine minutes later:

Great, it wasn't a romance movie. It was the complete opposite of something romantic. My fingers were intertwined with Goku's, who was sleeping peacefully next to me. Under normal circumstances, I would have hit him for falling asleep in a movie theater, but I was a little scared right now.

Goku fell asleep after finishing the popcorn. Apparently, he was right, movies weren't his thing.

"Aaaaaah!!!" I yelled, taking off my glasses when I saw a titanosaurus Rex very close to me. With my scream, Goku woke up.

"What happened, Bulma?" Goku asked, seeing how I was clinging to his arm. "Wow! With these glasses, I see the movie very well, hehehe." My fear dissipated upon hearing those words and I sighed, smiling. Having Goku by my side was a blessing in every way.

So, sorry for not uploading even though I promised.

After I uploaded the last chapter, one of my favourite authors posted a chapter after a month.

I started reading it at 9 o' clock and finished it at 10:20.

Yep not kidding, I didn't take a break 😅. He uploads one every 2 weeks and this one is especially big. He had to break this single chapter into 3 parts because chapter length was 30k+.

After that I wasted time watching YouTube till midnight and after that I studied until 3 am and slept around 4 am.

And the next day, I was busy and didn't feel like uploading same for today. I am only uploading since I have 2 chapters ready.

there will be some mistakes I will correct them later.

bye see ya.
