Once home she went up to shower while he went to his office to catch up on some paperwork for his new hotel. Later she came down and finding him still busy at work went behind him, leaning over his shoulder kissed his cheek.
"You work too hard, come eat dinner with me."
"You go ahead," he said, his head still buried in paperwork.
"Alright, she said, letting out a loud sigh.
He grabbed her and pulled her down onto his lap.
"I really have to finish this before I fly to Paris tomorrow."
"You're going away?" she asked, her face showing sadness.
"Yes. I am going to check out the property for the new hotel."
"How long will you be gone for?" she asked. She couldn't help the feeling of sadness that raced through her.
"I thought we could stay the week. Once I check out the property we could go sightseeing. A sort of honeymoon since we didn't go on one." He saw her eyes light up, her frown disappeared and she squealed with the excitement of a child.
"You mean I'm going with you?" she asked, her face lighting up.
"Of course you are. Did you really think I'd leave you here alone? Now you go have dinner and then go to bed. I need you rested for tomorrow. I have much to do before I can come to bed."
"OK. I'll have the cook bring you something to eat." Getting up she hugged him and kissed his cheek.
"Don't stay up too late," she said and left him to work.
THE NEXT MORNING
"How long will it take us to get to Paris?" she asked as she packed for their trip.
"Two to three hours by air, our flight leaves soon, are you ready to go?"
"All ready," she shouted from the bedroom.
When he had come to bed last night she was too excited to sleep so she kept him awake by asking questions.
What they were going to see and if he would take her to the museums and see a musical. She loved singing those show tunes from the sound of music and Annie and many more.
Arriving in Paris they were driven straight to the hotel, one of his. He was greeted warmly and Paige was welcomed and they were escorted to their suite. She was like a bubbly child as she went from room to room and then out onto the balcony.
"This view is spectacular," she said when he came up behind her, his arms going around her waist.
"When can we go sightseeing?"
"Tomorrow. You must rest and I have to go to the construction site and see how the work is going."
"Can't I go with you?" she asked, turning around to face him.
"No, the site is too dangerous for you. Angel, we live in Italy, one of the most beautiful places in the world and yet being in Paris you are more excited."
"I know, but this is Paris. I have always dreamed of coming here and want to see it all."
"I will show you around but not today. Go lay down and when I return we'll order room service and have a quiet night in."
He would have taken her with him but he was worried she would get hurt with all the construction going on and in her condition he wasn't going to let her anywhere near potential danger.
Changing into jeans and t-shirt he kissed her and left, promising to be back soon.
Arriving at the site he was given a hard hat and went into the trailer where the small office was. He wanted to see the plans and talk to the supervisor. He entered and there she was.
Giorgia Costanzo.
The only other woman that had once excited him. She was beautiful, sexy, dark thick hair, a body that could cause wars between men.
A wildcat in bed, she was a lot like him, liked the wild sex but she was also tough as nails. She could be cruel and just as cold-hearted as himself.
"Gabriel," she said breathlessly as she stood to greet him, removing her hard hat.
"I haven't seen you in years, you still look good," she said, running her finger along the opening of her top that barely concealed her large breasts.
"You look good too Giorgia."
She moved closer.
"I'm grateful for you giving me this job as supervisor, I won't let you down."
"I know you won't, you're the best in the business. I'm here to go over the plans, as you know this has to be first rate, no cheap materials. I'm trusting you to make sure everything is above board."
"After we go over the plans we could go somewhere private and get reacquainted," she said and threw her arms around him, only to have him remove them.
"Sorry but I'm married," he said, showing her his ring finger.
"That doesn't have to stop us. I'll even let you tie me up and you can get as freaky as you want, like when we were together and went to that club."
He had to admit it was tempting as she was one of the most beautiful and sexy women he had ever known.
" Sorry Giorgia, but it's only going to be strictly business between us."
"Surely that pesty little white girl you married can't keep a man like you satisfied?"
His eyes narrowed, anger showed in them.
"If you can't keep this professional then I'll hire someone to take your place."
"No problem Gabriel, but if you change your mind just give me a call."
Pouring them each a coffee she handed him the plans and they got down to business. After going over the plans she showed him around.
After seeing the work he was so far impressed and told her he was going back to the hotel, emphasizing that his bride was waiting for him.
When he got back to the hotel she wasn't in the suite, so he showered and changed quickly. He couldn't begin to know where she had gotten to and she didn't know her way around. Going down to the front desk he asked the clerk if they had seen her.
"Yes sir, she asked to see the kitchen, she should still be there."
He was not happy about this, she was supposed to be resting in bed, not roaming around the hotel alone. He saw her laughing with one of the chefs, and she was cooking. He went over and grabbed her arm.
"What do you think you're doing?" he asked, snapping at her harshly.
She was shocked by his anger.
"I was bored so I came down here and the chef was showing me how to make an apple crumble cake."
"You're coming with me," he growled, grabbing her arm led her out of the kitchen. Once in their suite, she shook her arm free.
"How dare you embarrass me in front of the kitchen staff. I'm tired of you treating me like a child and ordering me around." She walked away from him before she lost her temper and slapped him.
"You are the wife of a billionaire and I expect you to act like one, not like a common worker. I told you to stay here and rest."
"Damn you, Gabriel. I'm your wife, not one of your employees that you can boss around. I'm old enough to do as I please and go where I want to. And wipe that look off your face, if you think you're getting sex well you aren't."
"Shit, you look so sexy when you're mad. Come over here," he ordered her, undoing his belt buckle.
"No," she said defiantly. When he moved towards her she went to the sofa, picking up one of the cushions threw it at him.
"Stay away from me you beast." She kept moving when he started rounding the sofa, trying to get to her.
"Don't run my angel, I will catch you," he said and made a dash for her but she kept going around. A smile crossed his face.
"This game you're playing is only making me hotter for you. I could jump over and catch you."
"What would be the fun in that?" she said, suddenly smiling. Her anger dissolving, the thought of him jumping over the sofa she found amusing.
When he went to jump he smacked his knee on the edge and grabbing his knee sat down, groaning.
"Oh Gabriel, are you OK?" she asked, running around and going to him.
When he let out a laugh and threw her down on the sofa she knew he had tricked her.
"That was not fair," she said. Feeling the fire burning between them she grabbed his face, pulling him close.
"Now that you got me what are you going to do to me?"
"Oh, I think you know," he says, his mouth going to hers.
Later as they laid in bed she nestled close to him. "How did it go today at the site?"
"Really good, everything is going as planned. "I'm sorry about earlier. Of course, you can do and go where you please. I was worried when I returned and you were gone. You do not know your way around and could get lost. Next time leave me a note telling me where you are."
"OK, I will. I'm starving, will you order us something to eat?"
The next few days he took her sightseeing and several musicals, he had taken her shopping for new clothes.
Six days later he was taking a shower when she answered a knock at the door. A beautiful woman who looked like she could be a model was standing there, holding a file.
"Can I help you?" she asked the woman.
"You must be Mrs. Maestri, I am Giorgia Costanzo. I just wanted to drop these figures off for your husband. They are the revised figures we worked on."
"He's in the shower, won't you please come in? He shouldn't be much longer."
"Thank you," Giorgia answered and followed Paige over to the sofa and sat down. "So may I ask where you and your husband met?"
"In New York. What is it you do for Gabriel?"
"I'm the supervisor on the construction site where the new hotel is being built, Mrs. Maestri."
"Call me Paige, may I call you Giorgia?" Is that not an unusual job for a woman?"
"Some would think so, but I feel that women can do any job that a man can. We women no longer have to be the dutiful little housewife who must cater to her husband's every whim, don't you agree?"
Paige smiled.
"I do agree, but I also think we have the right to choose if we want to be a housewife. I like being married and looking forward to being a mother."
Giorgia's eyes went to Paige's stomach. "Are you pregnant?"
Smiling she patted her stomach. "Yes, going on three months."
Sensing a shift in the other woman's demure asked with concern. "Are you OK?"
"I'm good. Well congratulations, you and your husband must be thrilled."
"We are, well I am."
Giorgia perked up, this was an interesting turn of events. Perhaps he only married her because he knocked her up.
"You're husband is not happy about the baby?"
She cleared her throat, knowing she had confided something to a complete stranger.
"My husband is a complicated man, he doesn't show his feelings easily. Would you like some tea?" she asked to change the subject.
"I would love some."
"I'll go make it, I'll be right back," she said and went into the small kitchen.
Gabriel came from the shower wearing pants, his shirt he was carrying. Walking into the living room he stopped when he saw Giorgia sitting on his sofa.
She sat there with one leg crossed over the other, swinging it. A smug look was plastered on her face. He put his shirt on, his eyes blazing with fury as he stared at her.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"Hi lover, I dropped off a file for you, the one you asked for. Paige is making us some tea. My, she is a sweet little thing. I heard you are going to be a daddy."
"Leave now," he barked at her.
"Darling, just because you fucked her and knocked her up you didn't have to marry her. I gather you haven't told her about us or I don't think she would be so sweet to me."
Before he could say anything Paige came back with the tea.
"Gabriel, good you're here. I made us all some tea."
"Miss Costanzo can't stay." He looked at Giorgia. "Can you?"
She stood, smiled at Paige. "I forgot I had another appointment so I must leave. It was nice meeting you. I hope we can get together and compare notes."
Paige squinted her eyes, wondering what she meant by that.
"I'll just see Miss Costanzo to the elevator," he said and opened the door, waiting for her to follow him.
