(Narrator) *excessive wind* We are here at the scene of the battle where Christopher, Heather and Haider face off against a flying beast! If you are here listening to this report please leave the area, there is a high chance of death and injury! Any civilians or animals please find shelter! Miraculously people have been seen in the...
Damn, the Narrator gets blindsided by a flying broken tree branch.
(Narrator) Is it weird if I narrate myself? I guess it is. It was fun though.
If you were here the last time you want to know what in Hel is happening. Wait not Hel, FUCK how do i explain this? I left this story on a cliffhanger. Last thing that happened was that a monster made of bones appeared, right? Well to tell you the truth it's a skeletal dragon. Keeping together with a thin layer of Tendons covering most if not all the joints.
Screaming through the surplus of wind, Christopher says, "Fuck! We need to get out of here! We can't fight that thing!"
"Where can we go? Skeletal dragons have mage sight right? It could easily sniff us out! We have to fight!" Heather says, holding down her skirt and growing a sunflower.
"No, don't! It's resistant to all magic that we can use at our level." Christopher grabs Heather's arm and the sunflower wilts.
"Why did you stop me?" Heather asks.
"Skeletal dragons have complete magic resistance to all spells expert and below, none of us have any way to hurt this thing, we need to go!" Christopher pulls on Heather's arm but she holds her ground.
"What about weapons?" Haider asks, holding onto Heather's home made lunch he tied to his waist.
"Don't you think I thought of that? It has a natural healing factor so absurdly efficient we won't see a scratch." Christopher answers, noticing something just beyond his sight. "Heather!"
"What is it?" Heather responds, looking over her shoulder.
"Put your Mage Sight over at three o'clock!" The perceptive Christopher says.
Heather cautiously takes her Mage Sight away from the dragon and stares through the trees. "I think it's a person! They're so small I think it's a kid!"
"Shit what are we going to do now?" Haider asks.
Heather looks back at the dragon and notices its casting something but not sure what it is exactly. "Fuck! Protect yourselves! I'm going to save the kid! That dragon is casting something!"
Heather takes off running, meanwhile Christopher casts a mana absorption spell in front of himself and Haider. The dragon clamps its mouth shut and a moment later a dark purple viscus mist starts to leak from the gaps in its teeth. As the dragon bellows this mist from its mouth Heather covers the child and protects them both with a thick layer of vines.
Haider screams his sister's name as she gets engulfed in the dragon's horrific mist, thanks to Chrisopher's invisible wall, none of the mist got near them.
The dragon stops his onslaught of mist and starts fucking standing there. What is this? A shit graphic novel?
As the mist clears, the sight of Heather's vines being infected with curse magic greets the boys. The vines collapse and Heather becomes vulnerable. The dragon lets out a chilling roar and crashes down upon her, maw agape ready to tear her apart. Heather looks up, not able to move, and clutches onto the child as she stares into her death.
"Heather! Get out of there!" Haider starts casting ice scraper, a massive and intense ice spell that is said to be able to touch the clouds. With tears in his eyes, running towards the danger, he slides towards the dragon, hand on the ground, creating the catalyst for the spell. He thrusts his arm forward and a spear of ice grows towards the empty eye socket of the bone pile.
The second the ice touched its boney skull, all the mana that went into the ice exploded outwards, the spell disintegrates instantly. He was successful in stopping the beast from killing his sister, but only to his own demise. The dragon turns towards the ice mage and takes steps towards him.
To everyone's shock a beam of light strikes the undead bone mass, turning it to dust in seconds.
(Narrator) What the fuck just happened?
Thunderous steps approach the area as Christopher checks on an unconscious Haider. The sound of trees breaking and bending gets closer. As the trees part an awe inspiring dragon shows its face, her scales are a perfect vibrant purple and her movements breath elegance into every step. Christopher drags Haider away from the mythical creature as she stares her yellow, narrow eyes at them.
The dragon's voice is light and breathy, "Do not be afraid little cubs. I received a letter from a Nekojin letting me know that you may be travelling through this area of Maranus." The majestic dragon lowers their head in respect.
Staggering onto her feet Heather picks up the kid and says, "Do you know where this kid is from? She must have gotten lost from her parents." Heather puts the child down and the kid's hooded robe unveils that they are a Dragon Newt, the little tot has a single little horn on her left side. After experiencing such an event she is stuck to Heather's side.
The dragon leans in to look closely at the child. "Hello, cub. What is your name?"
The girl peeks from behind Heather's leg and whispers, "Reiki."
"Reiki? That's a nice name." The dragon backs off and lies down. "My name is Mylzronth."
Reiki perks up and stops hiding behind Heather upon hearing the dragon's name. "By the Mother, really?"
Mylzronth nods slightly and Heather gets on her eye level to talk to her. "Do you know who this is?"
"Who doesn't, Mylzronth is a guild master of the Tears of the Dragon Guild!" Reiki squeaks.
"That is the most cliche name for a Guild run by a dragon I have ever heard." Christopher states.
"I didn't pick it. The members voted and that name came out with the majority." Mylzronth chuckles with a slight smile.
"Purple Fall sounds more fitting I think." Heather says.
"I like Golden Breaker, that light spell was cool." Christopher says.
"You know that spell?" Mylzronth tilts her head to the side.
"Don't go down that rabbit hole, you'll be talking for decades." Heather jokes.
"Ha, duly noted. So what exactly brings you three here anyway?" Mylzronth asks.
Heather distracts Christopher from answering the question. "We just decided we were sick of the corruption."
"Ah yes, there are rumours and speculations about that very subject. The Empire seems to be peaceful for now at any rate." Mylzronth says.
Heather looks over at Christopher, she whispers into his ear with the soulustriousized ant we saw at the court case. "I think it's best that we don't tell anyone what happened. Is that ok with you?" Christopher gives a subtle signal with his pinky that he agrees.
"So does that mean you kids are thinking of living here in Maranus?" Mylzronth asks.
"It's definitely a possibility." Heather says with a smile.
"That's good! If you ever finish your degrees in college, you are welcome in my guild." Mylzronth lowers her head and lets Reiki pet her nose.
"Thank you for the offer Mylzronth, but I think Christopher here is going to do some research on how everything works here, Stocaea doesn't have a system like what we heard from you and Reiki." Heather introduces.
"A man of books, I like that. And what is your's and the others' names?" The dragon asks.
"My name is Heather, and this is Haider." She picks up her brother and leans him against a tree.
"It must have been traumatising to be up against such a terrifying undead." Mylzronth reaches for Haider, pointing a talon at him. She casts a spell called dragon healing. It's a complex spell containing 5 rune circles and 100 runes. The spell can cure the ailments of the mind.
Haider wakes moments later, groggy he says, "Ugh, what happened?"
"We were saved by Mylzronth of the Tears of the Dragon Guild." Christopher says.
"Mylzronth? Where have I heard that name before? By the Mother! You know dad!" Haider bursts onto his feet.
This startles the dragon. "I do?"
"Sorry I didn't mean to be so forward. Our father's name is Heddwyn Longstaff." Haider says.
Mylzronth thinks for a moment. "Heddwyn? I remember him being a Nekojin, you are human, are you not?"
"We were adopted by him." Haider explains.
"Wait, how do you know them Haider?" Heather asks.
"I, kinda was listening in on a private conversation between him, Helga and Engilram. Dad actually compared your magic level to Mylzronth's sis." Haider answers.
Mylzronth uses mana sense on Heather, measuring the volume of mana she has. "Very impressive. However it doesn't look like you can use much of your power."
"That right, how did you know that?" Heather asks.
"My mana sense is perfect, I can see your potential as well as your limits. A bit of meditative training can help with that issue." Mylzronth explains.
"Ough, ough! Me next." Reiki shouts.
"Alright let's see...wow, you have a bit of potential young lady." Mylzronth says.
"What about us?" Haider asks.
"Let's have a looksee. Haider, I don't really see much in terms of mana point potential but the efficiency in your spells may become unrivalled one day. Is that? Yes I think it might be." Mylzronth says.
"What is it?" Haider nervously asks.
