Chapter 41 - Chapter 1 Part 2

"I think I may be able to unlock something within you. It seems your Sister wasn't the only one born with multiple Affinities." Mylzronth says.

"Wait, I thought this only happens a few times a generation?" Christopher asks.

"Ah, I guess that's where the Empire manipulated that information. On occasion, living things can be born with multiple Affinities. This is more common than the Empire is seeming to let on, the Affinities more often than not seal themselves for whatever reason, blocking any detention tools from ever showing they exist. What I am seeing within him is another Affinity. But unlike his sister who has three, Haider only has two Affinities." Mylzronth explains. She looks back at Haider. "There is a correlation between this phenomenon and twins. Most are born with either similar or opposite Attributes and Affinites, with about 40% born with more than one Affinity."

"That's so interesting! Is there any way to bring it to the surface?" Christopher asks.

"Yes there is, but it's a rather painful process. Without numbing magic I can't do it right here, we would need an expert in that field." Mylzronth says.

Heather and Haider slowly and freakishly look at Christopher. "You have your expert right there." Heather points.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa! I'm no expert! It's not supposed to be used for something this delicate!" Christopher screams.

"If he really wants it done, anything will help him, and me as well." Mylzronth says.

Christopher closes his eyes and scratches the back of his head. "This is so dangerous! You're seriously going to let a rookie doctor use numbing magic for this?"

Haider walks up to him and wraps an arm around his shoulder. "I mean yeah, it's you after all. The prodigy of Dungannon!"

"That has to be the straightest thing I've ever seen you do...Fine you win. But you gotta tell me what to do and where, I'm not too good at it yet." Christopher says.

"What do you mean? You use it on yourself all the time." Heather says.

"Using it on another person is a whole other monster. I know what hurts on me, but not on others." Christopher explains.

"Ok, i think the best way we can use your abilities then is for you to combine the spell into my skill." Mylzronth says.

"ok, how does that work exactly?" Christopher asks.

"Have you ever casted a spell with someone else?" Mylzronth questions.

"Yeah." Christopher answers.

"Then you should get a handle on this pretty fast. Come here." Mylzronth says.

As Christopher walks up to Mylzronth, she uses transformation magic to turn her into a 8ft tall anthro dragon.

"By the Mother! You look like dad, but taller, and a dragon." Heather says.

(Narrator) I believe people in your reality have people who dress in a...Fursona? I think it's called that, and people that like anthro organisms are called furries. I find this fascinating, it's a cool thing you guys have, instead of the real thing. Makes me wonder if it's possible that reincarnation works both ways. But we haven't seen any evidence of this being the case.

"I mean, I use this form all the time, it's troublesome if I'm my full size in my guild." Mylzronth says. Her voice is faster, higher, and more elegant now.

"Your speech, is it proportionate to your size?" Christopher asks.

"Oh that? My voice box has to transform with me, so technically yes, but not in the way you thought." Mylzronth asks. "Lets quickly unlock Haider's hidden Affinity. I am a very busy woman after all."

"Right, what do you need me to do?" Christopher asks.

"All i need you to do is merge your numbing magic into my skill as your brother shows pain, if you mess up his heart may rupture." Mylzronth says.

"Why are we always in these situations?" Heather asks herself.

Mylzronth walks up to Haider and touches his chest with her left arm. "Try not to move, ok?" Haider nods. "Ok Christopher, as soon as you see the blue glow on Haider's chest, start casting the numbing spell, as long as some of the pain is reduced his body won't reject the process."

Sweating, Christopher holds both of his arms at Haider. "God damn, I haven't even done anything yet." Christopher shakes the nervous energy out of his body and tries again. "Alright, I'm ready."

After a swift moment Mylzronth starts her skill. Haider's chest glows blue. The very instant the skill is activated, the usually brave and confident Haider painfully screams and grunts, it took all he had not to move.

The moment Christopher saw this he began his numbing spell. His spell proves more effective than anyone expected. Haider's pained screams significantly lessen after a couple of minutes.

"How long do you think it will take?" Heather asks.

"Judging by the progress I've made, another six minutes at the most." Mylzronth answers.

"Can you hold on for that long brother?" She asks Haider. He glares at her, huffing and sweating.

"How much mana do you have left Christopher?" Mylzronth asks.

"I don't usually have to use my numbing spell this much, gimme a moment...about 90%." Christopher answers.

(Narrator) Huh, didn't know people have hidden potential, seems a little too convenient. I swear, this group always has something that comes out of left field, like, the fuck!

"Great, we should be done soon. Hold on for as long as you can." Mylzronth says, Christopher nods.

Nearing the end of the awakening skill, Christopher loses composure and puts his hands on his knees, gasping for air. "I can't hold onto it anymore."

The numbing spell wears off and Haider screams in pure and complete agony.

"That's alright Christopher, we're almost done here." Mylzronth says, shouting over Haider's screams. "Hold on cub just a few more seconds ok?"

"Shit, I didn't expect it to hurt so much more without the numbing." Haider says, sweating and gasping for air.

"Just focus, conserve your energy." Heather says, wiping the sweat from his brow.

"Alright, we're done." Mylzronth says, backing away and helping Christopher stand back on his feet.

Haider continues screaming for a second and slumps down the tree. The shock from the sudden relief must have put his body into recovery.

"Your body should only feel a little lethargic for a few hours, all that tensing from the pain would have tired them out." Mylzronth explains.

"I don't feel any different from before." Haider says.

"That is because this has always been you, just hidden inside." Mylzronth suddenly takes on a lighter and erratic personality for a moment. "We aren't sure because there aren't many humans in Maranus, but it could be a defect in humans."

"*huff* So, what about me?" Christopher asks.

"What about you what?" Mylzronth says, slightly confused.

"You haven't used mana sense on me yet." Christopher says.

"Ah, right. After I do this I need to run, I've been away from my Guild for too long and I fear what they're up to. Lets see here." Mylzronth's face shows a subtle hint of dread and concern on it.

"What's wrong?" Christopher asks nervously.

"I-I uh, I see possible difficulty in your future? Or maybe I should say you should avoid coming into contact with any of Digalondid Duw's demons, or even her herself." Mylzronth says.

"Can you tell us why?" Heather asks.

"I can, but I'm not sure how to explain it. So I see you're a spatial mage. But there is also something hidden within it, a dark and hateful force. I've never seen anything like it. Judging by its properties I think I could identify some symptoms." Mylzronth forebodingly says.

Heather walks away with Reiki keeping her innocent ears away from a difficult to hear situation.

"I'll write this down so we can watch out for these." Haider says, pulling a small blank book from his pocket.

"One symptom could be unforgiving and uncontrollable anger." Mylzronth says.

Haider writes that down and puts a tick next to it.

"Another could be the inability to control your magic output during these fits of rage."

Hader starts to worry as he writes that down and puts another tick next to it.

"Last one that I can think of is aggression towards anyone you have prejudice feelings." Mylzronth says.

A final note and a final tick.

"We know about this already." Haider says, closing the book and putting it away.

"You've been showing these symptoms?" Mylzronth asks Christopher.

"Yeah, and we know the cause." Christopher answers.

"Are you willing to tell me?" Mylzronth asks.

"So as a kid a...Tragic event occurred to a beloved family member and they and Christopher had a deeper bond than anyone. When she passed, he became hostile and aggressive to anyone affiliated with her death and began calling humanity evil and corrupt." Heather says, walking back into the conversation Reiki follows close behind her.

"I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my daddy a while ago, so I think I know how you feel." Reiki says.

Christopher smiles. "Thank you Reiki, that's very nice of you."

"If you're continuous of this thing then that may mean we could control or maybe direct this force inside you. This is a huge subject for science so keep an eye out for crazy people. We don't need experiments performed on him." Mylzronth says.

"Do you know its composition?" Christopher asks.

"I'm not certain but it has properties of several phenomena, it's rooted in the spatial Attribute but it can be forcefully brought forth through your emotions. We rarely see magic being able to break limits with strong emotions but it happens, in legends and stories. A few more things, your Affinity isn't just Spatial, it's mixed with Darkness and strong 'Forbidden Magic' and finally the answer to why you should try to avoid the demon god. You have a demon dragon seed inside of you. If she finds this out you could be turned into a monster under her control." Mylzronth's words cut deep and Christopher collapses onto the floor.

"Are you ok?" Haider asks.

"No, what Mylzronth just said. I'm essentially eternally cursed right?" Christopher asks.

"Incorrect. I specifically said a Demon Dragon seed. That means the seed has been protected by a Dragon's spell. Meaning, if it's activated." Mylzronth says, her words being muted by the narrator.

(Narrator) What? I gotta keep some of this stuff as a reveal for you later. Don't be mad. Or be mad, I don't actually care.
