I crossed the ground and walked over to the mound of earth forming a small hill. I went around it and climbed to the top to get a good view of the whole ground and the temple square.
People had started streaming into the ground as the sun set over the hills. Sunset happened early here, as the sun’s rays shone over the treetops and the top of the flagstaff of the temple. The flag was fluttering in the evening breeze.
I could feel the chill in the air as the mercury fell rapidly in the hills and the wind flew over the forest and into the small town. People had come prepared to spend the night, with woollen caps and shawls. There was a small crowd in front of the tea shop, as people tried to put some warmth inside them.
