Night fell, and the chirping sound in the forest became louder. But after a while, it just became a background noise that one would not notice. The night was humid, but the slow wind floating over the forest made it bearable. The leaves on the top of the trees were slowly swaying, creating shadows dancing in the darkening horizon.
The practice had ended and three others had joined the group. They came with a bundle that seemed like costumes for the play. They finished examining the costumes and packed them back into the bundle. Balu kept it on the veranda. The group of actors also came to the front and Sankaran said, “Ok Sir. We are leaving for the day, have a good night”.
I asked, “Oh, I thought you guys would stay for dinner and a campfire. You are leaving so early?”
