"Where should we drive to?"
They just dropped off Cherry and were on their way home.
"Let's go to your apartment."
Hermia was in for a shock.
Every worker on the Island had apartments on the Island even though they paid for it, it was only five percent of their income.
Unlike other workers, Hermia and Micheal had their own buildings which they visit when they are on break, although they could live in their apartments, it was not close to the main office, whereas, Lucia's mansion was in the same estate as the office, so they decide to live in the mansion.
"Why would you want to go there?"
she had to feed her curiosity, was his place not better than hers'. Hers' was just a storey building.
"I don't plan to spend my holiday indoor, your place seems closer to the center of the Island."
They finally got to her home, and before she could tell Lucian to feel at home, he was already going around as if it was his home.
Few minutes later, he came back to the living room with a bottle of red wine and a glass cup. He sat on a one sitter sofa before taking a sip from his glass.
Hermia joined him not long after and sat in front of him.
"Lucian" she called him by name,she could do that as long as he wasn't wearing a mask.
"How may I help you?"
His tone seemed soft, he looked approachable. She really didn't want to tell him about this, but now, she was left with no other choice cause he would be staying here with her.
"Mrs Mekaly, she wants you to help her."
There was not a single bit of surprise on his face, does he has any idea about this.
"What help can a no name offer her?"
"It's related to Cherry."
Hermia was starting to regret mentioning that name, was she forgetting that he held a grudge against the girl.
The smile on his face could have been pretty bad she been by his side and not his front, unfortunately, she was in front and it sure was deadly.
She suddenly found herself explaining things as she didn't want him misunderstanding her.
"Actually, her mum wants her moving in with me, and I agreed, I had no idea you would want to stay here."
"Fulfill your promise, it's not like I'm gonna kill her."
He placed the glass on the table, crossed his legs, intertwined his palms, before placing his palms on his crossed legs.
"But I'm curious"
"Oh yes. She said she wants to protect the girl from her father's plan. He plans to use her in exchange for business deals. Cherry is a virgin and does not goes against her father's opinion, she's a typical good girl, Mrs Mekaly does not agree with her husband so she asked me for help. Trust me, Cherry is not aware of this. So, do you permit me to bring her in? "
" That's your decision to make not mine. "
He got up, ready to go to bed.
" Thank you. "
He suddenly saw the need to advise her.
" You do know that does not stop the man from having his daughter back, neither do you know if the girl is interested in these men, especially Jiang. "he took some steps forward but was stopped by Hermia.
" Wait, what if it's you she's interested in? "she was now on her feet.
" Then she is going after the wrong person, cause I'm not interested. "
Though she could not see his face, she could hear the disgust in his voice. He must have misunderstood her. She picked up her phone and dialed a number, it rang for some time before it was picked.
" I'll come pick her in the next two days. "
" Oh! Thanks a lot miss, thank you."
Hermia let out a sigh and couldn't help asking again
"Why do you want her staying with me?" her voice was void of emotions "Is it to get close to me for some reasons you can't say, was she the one who asked you to do this?"
There was a pause at the other end for some seconds
"I'm so sorry miss, I just don't want her father to push her to do something she would end up regretting. Please, help me miss." The voice was muffled with tears.
"Fine, I will, but if the father comes for her, and she wishes to leave, I'm afraid I would be unable to help."
"Yes, thank you so much miss."
